CHAPTER 10- SECRET REVEALED

He went silent after asking me his question. I looked at him and smiled. I showed him I wasn't bothered with it and it wasn't a big deal to me.

" Rouges are more useful alive than dead." I told him.

" Do you have a brother?" I suddenly changed the topic. It wasn't a personal and a confidential matter to ask him that so I did. To lure him out of the topic about rouges.

" Yes, I have one. A twin brother. " He answered. I didn't expect that.

" Were two of you identical twins?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Yes. " He answered coldly. He seems pissed of with his brother. Now, I want to know why.

" Where is he? I didn't see him here. " I'm such a nosy person.

" He's down south, he's got he's own pack to run." He explained.

" He's not a member of the council you joined into. Why? " I asked him again. He did not noticed it but I have already turned the table. I'm the one throwing questions now and he's the one answering.

" He rejected my invitation, he said he had already owned allegiance to the King. " He answered me absentmindedly, like he remembered something, and I want to know it.

" If this high council of yours elevated into something greater, both of you would turn into enemies. " I stated summing-up all the ideas of the situation.

He smiled.

" You almost sounded like him. He said the same words to me when I invited him to join the high council. " He sounded amused.

" You're brother's smart. I've never met him but I'm starting to like him." I said with a smile. His face turned grim when I mentioned I'm starting to like his brother.

"Your collection of books are quiet good. I'd like to take a look around, would you mind?" I changed into a different topic. I stood up and walked with elegance while running my hands on his lined up collections of books. I can feel his gaze on me. On my body. I walked around reading some titles of the books he has. I found one that caught my interest. Myths and stories about our kind as well as the cursed one. I pulled it out from the shelves and opened it. I was living in the palace and we had a lot of books but we don't have this one. I flipped the pages and found a picture of the Demon wolf. My wolf. Scanning the words from those pages, the informations were accurate, too accurate. Like someone like me existed before and has been thoroughly studied by our people to be written in a book like this. I closed the book and looked at Drake who is still sitting and watching me closely. He was staring at the book I took some interest on.

" Can I borrow this, Drake?" I asked.

He didn't answered right away, he stood up and walked towards me. I wasn't able to read his thoughts since he was walking and wasn't looking my way.

He took away the books from my hand. He smiled while reading the title of the book.

" You can, If you can persuade me." He said with a mischievous smile. I'm not going to give up that easily with the challenge. I didn't see it but it seems my mate is a little naughty. I like it.

" Hmmm... Analyzing you well, You already have everything. What more could I offer? " I asked him giving him a meaningful smile while maintaining an innocent face.

He walked towards me, closing the distance between us. I feel a little awkward with the closeness of our body. I've never been intimate with a man before. I've always been distant. For spending seven years in the mountain with the rouges I've only lusted for blood but not for s*x. Reina was waiting for a mate. Our mate.

He cupped my face and another wave of tiny volts was radiating when our skin touches. This is bad, I thought to myself. I faced him and I opened my mouth to speak but failed to utter a single word as his mouth hungrily took mine like he was holding it back for ages. I was not familiar with kissing but he was so experienced. It felt so good. I've felt his left hand at my back caressing me gently and slowly going down. My eyes widened when I felt his left hand grabbing my butt. I put my hand on his chest to push him. He felt my sudden jolt because of his movement. His hand left my butt and went back to my hips slowly wrapping his left arm around my waist to hold me closer, tighter. While his right hand held my neck in place so I couldn't move away. This has gone wrong. I'm getting wet and he can feel my arousal. I can't control it. Even my wolf won't help me. I need to break free from his kiss. I grabbed his hair and pulled his head away for an inch, enough for my right hand to give him a slap. He backed away. I was trying to catch my breath after a few seconds I calmed myself quickly and went to get my coat. I didn't bother wearing it because I was in a hurry to leave the room. Before I could reach the door handle he grabbed my hand and made me face him.

" I'm sorry. " He said hurt was written in his eyes.

"No, you're not. You wanted it. How could someone be sorry after doing what he wants?" I said to him emotionless. I cannot be vulnerable in front of him.

"I did it because I feel you're my mate. You can't hide it when we touch. I knew you were hiding so many things from the beginning, especially your scent. " He said this time I can hear his honest thoughts without reading them.

" I don't know how you manage to hide your scent from me, but you can't run or hide from me forever. " he added. His eyes darkened with anger with the thought that I was running or hiding from him.

"I wasn't running or hiding from anyone and you know nothing about me." I said maintaining a non bothered face. I went to the shelves and pulled the book.

" I paid for this so I'm taking it with me. " I said angrily when I remembered this book is to blame.

He let go of my hand and crossed his arms in front of his chest. Smiling like he won a lottery. I turned my back at him and pulled the door but it wouldn't open. I took a step back not letting the handle go, I saw a hand pressed at the door. I turned my head to face him.

"Let me out. " I ordered him.

"I will, but first put on your coat. I don't like men drooling over my mate. " He said with a serious tone.

Letting go of the door handle, I closed my eyes for a split second to calm myself. I'm getting irritated. His starting to get under my skin but I'm not going to give him that satisfaction. I handed him the book for him to hold it while I wear my coat. He handed me back my book after I have fulfilled his condition. He opened the door for me like a real gentleman.

" I'll escort you back to your palace, Your Majesty. He happily offered me.

" No, thank you. Alpha Drake." I refused him.

" I won't let you ride with your men for three hours and smell your arousal." He said angrily. I looked at him with sharp eyes. Oh, if only looks can kill.

" You smell like me, Amiera. Your sister would know we did something while having coffee. " He added and smirked.

"In short, escorting me wasn't an offer. It was pure blackmail." I told him with irritation in my voice.

He laughed at my words. " I'll take that as a yes."

We rode together for thee hours in silence. He kept stealing glances on me. I was thankful he's driver was human so he couldn't smell me. We've reached the border of the Golden Crescent Pack and he noticed two cars pulled out to the road, six of them changed into their wolf form and disappeared in the forest.

" Where are they going? They didn't even escorted you to the palace gates. " He asked suspiciously.

" I ordered them to go back to their respective duties." I answered honestly.

"I'm already inside the border of my territory. I no longer needed their service, they're more useful out there than here following me. " I explained further. Hating that I have to since he still doubt me and my skills. He questions every decision I make.

Hinting my displeasure at his question, he moved closer and whispered.

"Your going to be a great queen. " his voice was low enough for the driver not to hear him.

"You always doubt me." I said without even looking at him.

" I don't doubt you, Your Majesty. I care for you." I can sense the sincerity in his words. I looked at him. He already knows I'm his mate so I think I needed him to keep it a secret for now.

" Give me time. I have a lot of important things to do. Can you keep this as a secret? " I asked him before opening the car door. I didn't have to mention the word "mate" since he already knows what I'm talking about.

"Yes, Your Majesty." He said while holding my hand. I squeezed his hand before getting out of his car.
