After a week spent recovering in the hospital, Jonathan was sent home. It wasn’t long before he was back at the office, though, partly because he couldn’t justify sitting around the house with grant season just around the corner. January was already over, and April would be here before he knew it. He had too many projects on his desk he had to coordinate, and even though Peter had hired a new intern to help him with the bulk of the work, Jonathan wasn’t the type to foist everything onto someone else. If he couldn’t make the day trips to the job sites, the least he could do was answer emails, take conference calls, and begin writing up the grant proposals.
Also—and this was the real reason Jonathan wanted to get back to work—he missed seeing Peter every day. Sure, his friend dropped by now
