CHAPTER FIVEWhen Zarina was dressed she cautiously opened her bedroom door. Everything was quiet and still and the rising sun was already beginning to peep between the curtains. Having made certain there was no one about, she put the letter that she had written to her uncle on the table outside her door. She picked up her two cases and crept towards the backstairs. There was no one to see or hear her as she went out through the door that led to the stables. As she expected, it was still too early for any of the young grooms to be moving about.
