9 Chris pursed his lips as he climbed to his feet and offered me his hand. “Nothing good.” I took his hand and he hefted me to my feet. That’s when I got my first good look around. “How did we pop out of the ground in the meadow?” Indeed, Chris and I stood in the middle of the field outside the front of Greylock Manor. The lights in the house burned brightly, and some of them washed over us. One of the front doors opened and someone leaned out. They stiffened for a moment before they shot over to us. “Chris!
