Chapter Seven

627 Words
Jett Every time the door banged open my eyes rose to it hopefully. And every time it wasn’t her. Every. Single. Time. I had totally screwed things up earlier, I had meant to come across as witty and charming but not come on to strong but her mentioning it being a date had rattled me and I had totally closed down. Made her feel self conscious. Embarrassed her. Did I want to take her out on a date? Would I break my own rule and wine and dine her to get her into bed or was it something else? Like my brothers were teasing me about. Did I actually like this girl? Either way I had screwed up. I shot back the vodka at the bar in one. I had to get her out of my head. No woman was worth this amount of self doubt especially one who was so far above me it was comical I even thought I had a chance. Plus she was human. Just another complication to add to the web of complications. “Why don’t you just go and ask her to come along” I didn’t even turn to Bat, it was his party and here I was lowering the mood with my face which I was betting resembled someone sucking on a lemon. “Already did” My eyes flicked to the door again. “Doesn’t look like she is going to take up my invitation” and why did it bother me so bloody much? “Then go get her, take your bike all the girls love a bike” Bat downed his drink in one , slamming the glass back down on the bar. “You know where she is staying right?” I shrugged , reaching for the second shot. Getting wasted seemed like a really good idea right now. Sure I knew where she was. I could just imagine her relaxing in her grungy small room with her pizza and over sized sweater. In my head she wore nothing but the skimpiest of lace panties under neath it. The image of her slim legs was ingrained in my mind. I shook the image away. Had to get her out of my head before I went crazy. “Jett” He was shaking his head as my hand snakes out, wrapping around the wrist of the first girl that walked past. It didn’t much matter who she was or what she looked like. I just needed to get Harper out of my brain and the only way I knew how to do that was to bury myself balls deep in another woman. That was the problem, I hadn’t been laid in over a month. A new record for me. It was the only possible explanation. I ignored him. “Wanna get out of here?” I smoothed the fake blonde hair from her ear as I drew her closer. My hand cupped her hot pant clad ass. “Yes” “Jett don’t do something you will regret , she may still come” I was getting tired of his whining. He didn’t know squat. “I won’t regret taking you to bed will I sweetheart?” I crooned at her and she shook her head. That’s all I needed. I needed to get laid and then Harper wouldn’t be the only face I saw every time I jerked myself off in the shower. “Have a good time brother” I rose to my feet, slapping his shoulder hard. His eyes lowered as he shook his head. “You as well Jett”
