She’s Back.

GRIFFITH’S POV “Paperwork, paperwork, and more paperwork,” I sighed as I shuffled through the heaps of documents piled up on the mahogany desk. I threw a few down to the table and sank into my seat. Doing the job of an alpha was not an easy task, but it was bestowed on me, a few years ago, after my father had past away. I let out an exasperated sigh as I shifted my eyes to the window. Warm sunlight streamed through the thin curtain, bestowing the office with a little bit of ambience, one I did not mind. My mind was a mess and I could not focus on the work at hand, so I let my mind wander, deep into my thoughts. A thought immediately popped up in my head, catching me off guard. A certain person, one I had forgotten for five whole years was suddenly dancing around in my memory. Blyna A small smile curled up my lips as I recalled her features. Her golden blonde hair cascaded in waves, framing a face that held an ethereal beauty. It was as if strands of sunlight had been woven into her locks, creating a halo around her delicate features. But it was her eyes that captivated me most. A hue that defied categorization, a unique shade of silver-gray that held the mysteries of an uncharted realm. Her slender form, delicate yet resilient, held a grace that could only be described as otherworldly. There was an air of quiet strength about her, an invisible force that pulsed beneath her skin. As I closed my eyes, her image grew clearer, her presence almost tangible in the recesses of my mind. The memory of her smile, a blend of warmth and vulnerability, tugged at my heartstrings. The sound of her laughter echoed in my ears, a melody that had long been silenced. The feelings I once had for her, I could remember them, almost too vividly, but now, I felt nothing for her. I scoffed, shaking the thought of a past love away from my mind as I was determined to go back to work and finish up before the sun sunk into the horizon. My eyes trailed back to the paperwork and my hands got busy immediately. “Where are my stupid brothers when I need them,” I mumbled as I flipped from one document to another. As I became immersed in work, a loud knock on the double doors of the office broke me out of my focus. I pinch the bridge of my nose as frustration built up within me. “Come in,” I sighed. The doors flew open slowly and a guard stepped in. Irritated became etched on my face in an instant. “What do you want?” I asked, irritation lacing my tone. “There is a situation outside the gate Alpha.” I raised an eyebrow. “Situation?” He nodded. “Yes alpha, there is someone that demands to come into the pack. You will have to come see it for yourself.” Reluctance was imbedded in my very being, but I knew I had to check it out. Rising up from my leather chair, I began to follow closely behind the guard. Curiosity flooded through me as I followed the guard to the gate.As we reached the gate, I stopped dead in my tracks as my eyes landed on a very familiar face. And there, standing before me, was Bylna. Time seemed to halt as my gaze remained locked on her, my heart skipping a beat. The shock was palpable, for the girl I once knew had transformed into a woman of remarkable beauty. Her presence commanded attention, her blonde hair shimmering in the sunlight, her figure exuding a newfound confidence. The years had sculpted her into a vision that left me momentarily speechless. Yet, it was her eyes, those piercing silver-gray eyes, that held me captive. They bore into mine with an icy coldness, a stark contrast to the warmth they once held. A flicker of amusement danced across my features as I observed her reaction. She had not forgotten the betrayal, the pain that had marked our past. But rather than feeling remorse, a smirk tugged at the corner of my lips. This encounter promised to be anything but dull. “This will be fun,” I muttered under my breath, my voice laden with a mixture of challenge and intrigue. The fire in her gaze only made me intrigued. As the guard began questioning Bylna, a flicker of impatience crossed my face. “That’s enough,” I interrupted firmly, my voice commanding the guard’s attention. “Leave us.” The guard hesitated for a moment, his eyes darting between me and Bylna, but ultimately he complied, retreating from our presence. With his departure, I turned to Bylna and motioned for her to follow. “Come in,” I said, my tone acknowledging her lineage as the former Beta’s daughter. Together, we walked towards the common room, the weight of our shared history palpable in the silence between us. Once inside, I gestured towards a seat, indicating for her to sit. “Take a seat, Bylna,” I said, my voice a mixture of authority and curiosity. As she settled into the chair, I leaned against the nearby table, studying her intently. She kept her gaze fixed elsewhere and maintained a stoic expression. “I must say Blyna,” I spoke up as I slowly began to close the distance between us. “I am surprised you came back here.” I propped my hands on both sides of the chairs arms rest and leaned into her. Blyna flinched, but maintained her stoic expression. She held my gaze for a split second, before averting her eyes to the floor. As I opened my mouth to utter another word, the door to the room swung open, dragging my attention to it. Barret and Collins, stepped into the room. They exuded an undeniable charisma, their presence commanding attention. Barret, with his rugged features and piercing blue eyes, emanated a raw magnetism that drew people in. Collins, on the other hand, possessed a more refined charm, his sandy blonde hair and dimpled smile making hearts flutter. I noticed Bylna’s gaze briefly flicker towards my brothers, her eyes lingering on their striking appearances. It was a subtle reaction, but one that didn’t escape my notice. The air grew tense as Barret and Collins registered her presence, their eyebrows raised in questioning curiosity. “What’s she doing here, Griffith?” Barret’s voice held a note of suspicion, his eyes narrowing as they settled on Bylna. “And why is she in our common room?” Collins chimed in, his voice echoing with the same intrigue. “Yeah, what’s the meaning of this, brother? Isn’t she the daughter of that traitor? Have you brought her back into our lives?” I waved my hands in the air, dismissing their barrage of questions. “Despite what her father did, she is still the daughter of the former beta, she deserves a chance to be heard.” Barrett and Collins both shared a look and shrugged. “And where the hell were the both of you when there is a lot of work to get done?” Barrett walked up to me and gave me a hard slap on the back. “Brother, I was attending to other duties you see,” he grinned. I rolled my eyes. “You mean the duties of making yourself at home between a woman’s legs?” Collins stiffled a laugh and I turned my gaze away from them. My eyes fell back to Blyna, who was looking rather uncomfortable. “Why are you back here, Bylna?” I couldn’t help but ask, the curiosity burning within me. Her sudden appearance after all these years intrigued me, and I yearned to understand her motivations. Her gaze locked with mine, and with a flicker of hesitation, she spoke. “I’ve been wandering from pack to pack, searching for a place to belong, but none felt right,” she confessed, her voice carrying the weight of her journey. “With the former Alpha’s passing, I thought the ban he had placed upon me would be lifted. I hoped to find a home here, among familiar faces.” A smile played on my lips as I kept my gaze fixed on her. “You do make a fair point,” I chuckled. “How about I offer you a preposition” Blyna raised an eyebrow as puzzlement was etched on her features. “You can stay and live her, but understand certain conditions. You must work as our personal maid, and you will also stay at the slave quarters in the pack house.” “A personal maid? That sounds like fun,” Barret grinned. “I agree,” Collins nodded. I smirked and turned to Blyna. “What do you say?” I could see the hesitation in her eyes, but she spoke up after a few seconds of silence. “I accept your preposition, alpha.” I chuckled. “Then it’s settled,” I turned to the maid, standing at the corner. “Show this young lady to a room, now.” The maid nodded and ushered Blyna out of the room. I followed behind them, until Blyna was inside the room. I swung the door open and she flinched as her eyes met with mine. I approached her slowly, and took a few steps back until her back was met with the wall. I slammed my hand to the wall, as I leaned in and whispered into her ear. “I remembered what you said darling, all those years ago. If you are back here for revenge, then I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I am not going to let that happen... ever.”
