I stared at the date on the digital calendar on my bedside table and sighed. It's been three months here now and tomorrow...tomorrow it was my 26th birthday. It would be the first time I wouldn't celebrate it with my family. And it would also be the first time that I wouldn't celebrate at all. Ever since I was a kid, Dad used to do a great fuss on my birthday. As if it was not mine but his. There would always be some surprise and an enormous birthday cake at the very least. It kinda got embarrassing as I grew up but for my old man I was more than willing to endure that much embarrassment if it meant a big smile on his face the entire day.
I sighed and felt like crying.
