3.First kill

Calista! "I scream afraid I will lose my sister too.

She turned around just in time to avoid the fireball that was coming towards her.

After she killed the second Molox with ease she flies towards me.

"What are you doing here? Are you hurt?"She asked analysing me from head to toes.

I shake my head at her.

"We should go find mother! Come on!"

"I know exactly where she is, Calista!" I said looking away.

"Even better, we won't waste any time then!Come!I'll let you there with her, then I'll come back here! They need me!"

I didn't want to tell her yet that I wasn't even able to protect her, our mother. She will be so disappointed with me. I can't take all of this right now!

"Actually why don't let me fight with you?"

"Invicta, sister, I understand that you wanna help, but this is too dangerous! Besides, we both know that father will be made with us."

"But Calista, I can help, I do! Please give me a chance to prove to them how wrong they are when they call me a disappointment. Plus the soldiers need all the help they can get, and you are here to keep an eye on me! Please! Father won't find out! I won't say nothing if you don't, and the others are too busy killing Molox.No one will notice me!"

"Even if I say yes, how are you thinking to fight those monsters without a sword, Invicta? "

Looking around me to find something sharp enough that would serve me as a sword, I smile at my older sister.

"I'm sure I'll find some kind of weapon!"

I scan the area, but I couldn't find anything. The pax-els are trained to fly from a young age. And as not everyone succeed from the first try, the Elders decided to take away all the sharp things that can hurt the little 'birds'.

I fly higher, not wanting to give up so fast.

My eyes moved to the Sacred Chamber building.

"That's it! "I said more to myself looking at the tallest tower.

On top of it, it was what seems to be a black spear. Two semi moons were at their sharp end.

I fly in its direction as fast as I could, thinking that if I can hit it, strong enough, with my foot it might break.

Holding my aching leg I look back to notice the spear was intact.

"Move away, Invicta! "My sister said swing her sword, then let it fall, trying to cut through the spear. To our surprise, it didn't even bend.

"What's this made of? It seems to be as durable as Nibira's Heart. Is not possible! "

"Well, it looks like it is. I have a vague feeling that there are too many things we don't know about. "I said remember what Samoa said about us coming here.

We didn't notice the Molox coming our way, till a huge ball of flames pass through us smashing in the tower that we were looking at.

The building started crumbling and I smirked when I see the spear coming out.

"Thanks, I guess! "I said and go grab the spear. I pull it out with all my strength, preying I'll succeed in my attempt to find a weapon.

When it was finally out, I was surprised by how light it was feeling. I was too excited about my new acquisition to pay any attention to what was happened around me.

My sister full of pain voice bought me back to reality. "Aaahhh! "

I look around me frantically, only to see Calista going down. Her right-wing was injured.

I fly towards her, hoping I could reach her before she hit the ground. We are powerful and live over a thousand years, but we can easily die from such impact.

I extend my free hand for her to grab, but something hot hit my side. It was feeling like I'm melting in the sun, my insides burning and freezing at the same time.

Fortunately, my wings weren't affected.

Calista was already laid on the ground in an awkward position, blood coming out her mouth.

"Calista!No! Please, not you too!"

My heart was aching at the thought to lose both my mom and my sister on the same day. But I had no more tears. I was void of emotions. All I felt was the need to kill.

Full of range I adjust my spear and fly towards the monster responsible for that. I didn't care about my injuries.

As I approach the Molox, I notice something different about it. His eyes were a very dark red and his body was slimmer, looking more like our body without the wings.

'Is this a new species? 'I thought.

I take him straight away, without wasting any more time, but he blocked my attack.

'So he is smart too!'

He looked me in the eyes. But something seems to be wrong, I could feel it, but I couldn't point it out.

'Whatever, I won't let a Molox make me think he needs some affection after he almost killed my sister.'

With that in my mind, I finally manage to stab his heart with my black spear.

To my surprise, he didn't cry out in pain.

He smiled!
