2.Invasion

Invicta pov.

I was flying as fast as I could, without caring about the cold air that was slapping my face.

As I approach my home I can see the carefree pax-els doing their everyday activities. Little ones were playing while the adults were doing their chores.

"Where is my father? "I asked no one in particular.

All the heads snapped in my direction.

"I think he was heading to the Sacred Chamber !"Someone answered.

I took a sharp turn to my right and only stopped at the door skipping the stairs.

I know the Elders will try to punish me for this. Again.Because we are supposed to step on the stairs with our barefoot. It is an insult to fly above them. But this is a matter of life and death. I need to warn them. Otherwise, they all could die.

I open the door with a loud bang.

"Invicta! What do you think you're doing! You know the rules! You will be punished for your insolence! "my father said in a deep voice.

"Forgive me, father! But.."

"No, but, young lady! You are always so disrespectful! We need to punish you more drastically! Maybe being tied by your wings from the tallest tower with your head down, will make you remember the rules! "One of the Elders said. His name was Samoa. He hated me for no reason.

"What?! I mean.."

"Invicta! That's enough! You embarrassed me enough! Go home to your mother! We will decide how to punish you this time after this meeting! "

"But father! Calista said.."

"You shouldn't dare speak your sister name! She is too good for that stupid mouth of yours! She is the best warrior while you keep breaking all the rules and disrespect all of us! You should be ashamed of yourself! "Samoa said.

"Samoa, please! Do not speak of my daughter like that! I know she is disrespectful and all, but she is still my daughter! "

"It's ok father! He is right! I'm here being so rude while Calista is fighting those monsters trying to protect us! I didn't even been able to warn you properly about the breach! And now it should be too late! I should be there, fighting! Not here embarrassing you, father and annoying the Elders! "I said and turn around.

"What?What breach?"

But before I could answer screams made all of us run outside the Sacred Chamber.

"Molox!This is not possible! I saw one since we first arrived here! We thought they were afraid of us! But it seems we've been wrong. "

"What do you mean since we arrived here Samoa? We weren't born on this planet? Isn't Nibira the place we always lived? "I asked confused.

My father pushes me away, as a ball of fire came our way. "Go find your mother and hide, Invicta! This battle isn't for you!"

"But father..!"

"Listen to your general kid! You are not ready for this!"

I nod my head to the Elders and took my leave.

I run through the panicking pax-els, avoiding flying because of the fireballs that were coming from all directions now.

The soldiers were ready to defend us. But I don't think they were ready enough. Too many were injured.

I open the door of my house to find my mother crying in pain. Her wings were burnt and one of her arms was broken.

"Mother! Are you ok? Please say something! Let me help you!"

She blinked at me and nod her head, not being able to talk because of the pain.

Having your wings injured was more painful than dying.

I grab her arm and lift her. She hissed in pain but didn't push me away.

"We need to find a healer! "

"No!" she said in a too low voice, sounding more like a whisper.

"Mother! What do you mean no? Your wings are badly damaged! We need to treat them! "

"Too late, Invi!I'm sorry! "

Tears were running down her face.

"No mother! I won't give up on you! You can't leave me like that! I need you! Father and Calista need you too!Please!"

She sits down on the ground, breathing heavily. Her eyelids closing and opening.

"There's nothing we can do Invicta! Take care of them, please! You are stronger than you think! Listen to Nibira's Heart! I'll always be with you."

"No mother! You will take care of them! You're the only one able to do that! I'm... I'm just a disappointment. Everyone thinks that! Even father said that he is embarrassed by me."

"This is not a true child! Always follow your heart! You are connected to Nibira as anyone else! You are the daughter of General Belatrox! Believe in yourself! "

Her head fell and her hold on my hand loosened.

"Mother! Please!" I said crying, but she didn't answer.

I look around me. It was so much smoke that I barely could see few feet away. It became harder to breathe.

Crying of war could be heard everywhere! The sound that made my feathers shrivelled.

My place is there! I could hear its call now!

Nibira needs me!

I storm out of the room opening my wings with so much force, that the flames burning near me died.

Pushing my wings back in a straight position a let out a sound so loud that surprises me. It was my cry war. My inner soldier asking to be let free.

Flying above the smoke I notice there were almost none of my people! I could only hope they are hiding safely somewhere.

I see my sister Calista taking down a Molox. She uses her wings to create a little storm that distracts long enough the monster, for her to cut off his head with her crystal sword.

Our swords were made from Nibira's Heart! It looks like a blue crystal that's not breaking too easily. They are different shapes and sizes as the crystal is so durable that no one was able to cut through it.

When you become a soldier of Nibira the Elders takes you blindfolded to the Sacred Room. There is a secret door known only by them, that lead to the Nibira's Heart. A cave-like full of blue crystals. And in the middle of it, it's what we call the heart! A round-shaped crystal was darker than the rest. It is what's give us power.

After you chose your sword you connect it with the Heart! Once the connection is made your power grows. You almost stop getting older. It's been like this for thousands of years. A pax-el can live up to 1700-2000 years. But the older I know is Samoa, he is 1578.

A second Molox heading towards my sister brings me back to reality. She was to focus on killing the first one to notice it.

"Calista!!"
