Chapter 11:

During their break, Cersei took the opportunity to gossip with Yuna, and most of their conversation centered around Alpha Louis. William International Group, based in the White Fang pack, was the largest multinational corporation globally, with a focus on real estate and jewelry, among countless other ventures. Any industry that was profitable, William invested in. The Alpha David household had four young masters, with Louis being the eldest, currently serving as the CEO of William. A woman from the upper class once said that no matter the age, any woman who saw Alpha Louis would want to have a one-night stand with him. It wasn’t about wealth or power; it was simply because he was Alpha Louis. This alone was enough to show that Alpha Louis’s charm was unmatched globally. A few years ago, the Alpha David family faced the threat of bankruptcy. Louis managed to weather the storm, and three years later, not only did he save William Group, but he also elevated it to new heights. His relationships with the political and business worlds were excellent. It could be said that if Louis’s car hit someone on the road in the White Fang pack, no one would dare to stop him. Cold, ruthless, seductive, with strong, unyielding tactics! Especially after the Alpha David family’s crisis had passed, he became even more cold-hearted, with even stronger and more resolute methods. Cersei slumped over her desk, feeling drained. A man like that—why on earth did she get involved with him? Why did she end up having a relationship with him and have Rony as a result? Rony didn’t resemble him much; one had a mature, masculine face, while the other had a youthful, childlike face—Rony was fair-skinned and adorable. How could he resemble the cold face of Alpha Louis? But upon closer inspection, it was noticeable. The eyes were similar, the mouth was similar. And from that VCD, Cersei was sure that Rony was definitely Alpha Louis’s son. However, she couldn’t remember what had happened in the past. Perhaps it didn’t matter. “I heard there was once a girl who committed suicide over Alpha Louis—pretty scary,” Yuna suddenly mentioned. “Suicide?” “Yes, she slit her wrists. She was a high school student, and afterward, there was no more news about her; no one knows where she went.” ... Cersei froze, unconsciously touching her left hand. There was a scar on her left hand. Seven years ago, when she woke up, her mind was blank. The doctor had told her she had undergone surgery to treat her left hand. Cersei’s heart went cold. Impossible! How could it be her? Alpha Louis had always been a playboy, changing women like he changed clothes, and even if she had been young and impulsive back then, she wouldn’t have fallen in love with him. Could it be, as her darling Rony had said, that a woman could go through so many men? Impossible! If she really had loved Alpha Louis, and he didn’t love her back, leading her to attempt suicide, then she discovered she was pregnant, fled, erased her painful memories, and raised the child on her own. If that were true, it would be too much of a soap opera cliché. It would be like a slap in the face of the drama in her life. Absolutely impossible. “Cersei, what’s wrong?” “Sigh, I’ve read too many romance novels; my imagination is running wild.” There’s no place in life that isn’t full of soap opera clichés. But she really rejected the idea of such a cliché. Alpha Louis chose a luxurious venue for the dinner, booking out an entire outdoor seafood restaurant. The WPL design department staff, like a pack of wolves, showed no restraint. They ordered the most delicious, most expensive dishes. This was the most beautiful outdoor restaurant in the White Fang pack, with lounges, premium soft seats, and at night, it turned into a lively bar. The prices were exorbitant. Normally, it was difficult to get a reservation unless you booked a week in advance. Everyone sat wherever they liked, and the atmosphere was lively. Eating, drinking, and playing, they had everything they wanted. Cersei took a tray of seafood salad and a glass of white wine, then slipped away to the quietest spot she could find. Apart from her team, she usually didn’t have much time to socialize with others, so it was hard to laugh along with everyone. Cersei didn’t like noise. She was naturally drawn to tranquility—the quieter, the better. “Why are you hiding over here?” Miori came over with a tray of seafood as well, also carrying a glass of white wine. Cersei smiled, “Enjoying the beautiful view.” It was a beachside setting with lounge chairs and long tables. You could lie back, enjoy delicious food, sip wine, and take in the night scenery. It was incredibly relaxing. “How long did you live in the Blood Moon pack?” “Eight years, I think.” In her memory, it might have been longer because she felt very familiar with New York when she first woke up. “Not bad. Studying abroad for so many years—I studied in the Blood Moon pack for four years too. Did you go to Princeton?” Cersei nodded, and Miori said, “We went to Harvard.” “We?” “Me and Da Bach, we both studied at Harvard. I studied law, and he did his MBA.” Cersei smiled, “How many years did it take you to graduate?” “I graduated later than Louis. He earned his degree at 20 and returned home to take over William Group,” Miori said. “Harvard and Princeton have a lot of academic exchanges, as well as many social events.” “I once played in a baseball game against Princeton,” Miori said. “Didn’t expect that,” Cersei said, a little surprised. “I cheered for the team for many years, but I never saw you.” “Really?” “Of course.” “Maybe you’ve seen me,” Cersei said. “Impossible. If I had seen you, I would have remembered.” A face as beautiful as hers, with such a good personality, and there weren’t many Eastern faces there—she was the kind of person you couldn’t forget once you saw her. “Thanks for the compliment,” Cersei said with a smile. Miori’s eyes sparkled as he raised his glass, “Cheers to Harvard and Princeton.” “Haha, cheers to the baseball players and the cheerleaders.” They clinked glasses and drank together. It was a very pleasant moment. Miori and Cersei got along extremely well, and Miori was full of admiration for her. Smart, articulate, confident, witty, humorous—her virtues were endless. Miori sipped his wine, quietly observing Cersei. This charming woman was truly impressive. “Cersei, what do you think of me?” Miori asked. Cersei was smart and immediately understood, “You’re great, but I’m just a Cinderella, not worthy of you.” For adults, the feeling is often straightforward and direct. Miori didn’t believe in the love between a prince and a Cinderella. The difference is too great; different lifestyles and communication would eventually lead to separation. But Cersei wasn’t really a Cinderella. “Rejected, how heartbreaking.” Miori pretended to be sad, shaking his head. Cersei laughed and poured another glass of wine, “Sorry, I’ll drink this one as an apology.” “I really wonder what kind of man could catch your eye,” Miori sighed. “When you do find him, I’ll definitely beat him up.” Cersei laughed out loud, “When I get married, you can turn him into a pig’s head.” “It’s a deal.” “It’s a deal.” Not far away, watching them chat so happily, Alpha Louis suddenly sneezed. He had been sneezing a lot lately. “Are you catching a cold?” Wendy asked with concern. Alpha Louis exuded a cold aura that made people hesitate to approach, and Wendy followed his gaze. Cersei and Miori were laughing and talking, very close. Louis’s eyes narrowed with a desire to destroy someone. Those two were having too good a time, and it was very irritating to watch. Wendy remarked, “I didn’t expect Cersei to be so skilled; she’s already hooked Miori.”
