Sophie pov. I went to the room to change and get ready for our picnic. I took some of the things I thought I might need and put them in a bag. I was about to go out of the room when Luke suddenly came into the room. He looked at me intensely and took slow steps towards me. What was he doing? I took a step back involuntarily. He kept his eyes locked on mine. “Luke?” I called. He didn’t say anything. He walked up to me and caged me in between him and the wall. The closeness was making me feel hot and needy. My breathing hitched and my heart raced. Our eyes were still locked in a constant gaze. “What are you doing babe?’ I managed to whisper. He smirked and his eyes twinkled mischievously. He used his fingertips to caress my cheeks, down my neck and my collar bone, until I felt goosebumps all over my body. The sparks of the mate bond made it worse. He then placed his face on the crook of my neck and trailed soft kisses on the bare skin. His hands kept exploring every inch of my body. I closed my eyes and moved my head giving more excess for him. He held me in his strong arms. I tried my best not to moan in pleasure. The sparks exploded like a firework. Soon, I was unable to control the gasps of breath escaping from my lips. I felt the need that originated from my womb down what is in between my legs. My knees felt wobbly and I held on to his shoulders for support. He continued to tease me, placing small kisses and licking on the spot where I was supposed to be marked. I felt electric shocks throughout my body. Oh, how I wish he could mark me. I felt him pressing himself on me. He then placed his lips near my ears, nibbling softly on my earlobe. “Let's go my love. Everyone is waiting for you downstairs.” He whispered. He removed himself from me and looked at me with that smirk on his face that had captured my heart. He winked and turned around to leave. It took a while for me to realise what he had just done. I gasped for breath, as I leaned against the wall trying to control my erratic heart. He had just left me hanging! I realised. I groaned and went to the bathroom to wash away the need I felt. Oh, I will get Luke back for this. When I went downstairs, they were indeed waiting for me. I had tried to wash away my arousal as much as I can. Though the wizards and witches cannot smell it, my parents and the others will sense it. And them, of all the people to know that I was aroused, was not what I wanted. Luke looked at me when descended the stairs. I rolled my eyes at him as he smirked at me. Two can play at this game. I mind linked him. Oh, I will be waiting. He replied. We held hands and soon we were teleported to the spot where we went for our picnic five years ago. Luke pov. That was fun. I would be lying if I say that it didn’t affect me at all. It did. And it was painfully difficult to leave her without fulfilling our needs. But it is not wrong to have some fun with your love, isn’t it? We had our little picnic at the riverside. The kids ran around chasing and teasing each other. We watched amused as Anna, poured a whole bottle of water on Luca before running away to hide behind my sister. I laughed while the mothers tried to separate the kids from getting back at each other. “Anna reminds me of you when you were younger Luke,” Sophie said. I shrugged. She is my niece after all. I heard my dad chuckle. “Even her father is like that. I still haven’t forgotten the day you pushed me into the fountain me dear beta.” He said. Zane shrugged and chuckled. “What is life without some fun. I think Luke will agree with me. Isn’t it Luke?” He said and raised his hand to give me a high five. My sister groaned. “But it is so tiring when Anna constantly keeps teasing Luca like that.” She said. “Who knows maybe they are soulmates” Wilma stated as a matter of fact. All heads turned towards her. “What? I’m pretty old and I’ve seen a lot of things.” She said. “Did any of you think like that with Sophia and Luke? No, right?” She said. Everyone watched Anna giggling and trying to dodge Luca who was still trying to catch her. I smiled. Yeah...maybe. I shook my head. They are too young. Their fun is still very innocent. Let them have their fun. Syed was standing by the river and watching the different kinds of fish in it. I walked towards him. “Hey Syed,” I called him. “What are you doing?” I asked. “I thought I saw a girl in the river.” He said as he looked intensely into the water. “oh, those are mermaids,” I told him. “Mermaids?” he asked. I nodded. “Wooooow.” He exclaimed and turned towards Luca and Anna. “Hey look. There are mermaids in here.” He exclaimed. The kids ran towards us and soon they were gathered around me. Sophie and the others too came and stood beside us. “I also want to see a mermaid.” She said. I raised my right hand and the water in the river swirled and formed little bubbles. Soon a mermaid with a green and purple fishtail jumped out of the water. The kids shrieked in excitement. “Wow. Can we see more mermaids?” Luca asked with his eyes wide open. I chuckled. “Maybe some other time. We shouldn’t disturb them too much don’t you think?” I said. He nodded and ran towards dad. “Dad. Can we come here another time? I want to see mermaids.” He said. He laughed. “We will see bud.” He replied. “Hey, it is almost sundown we should be going.” My sister said. We packed our belongings and teleported back to the palace. **** It was time for them to leave. Saying goodbye was never easy. Sophie was having a hard time trying to say goodbye to her family. She had never lived without them. She had even chosen to go to the college in the pack so that she wouldn’t have to leave them. I watched as they cried in each other’s arms. Sophia pov. Why did it have to be so damn painful to see them leave? I hugged every one of them. I was finally supposed to live without my parents. I will have to make decisions on my own. I had to be an adult. I am so not ready for this. I need them. Though I have my mate with me, I felt I still need them to watch over me. The constant thirst for parental love is never quenched. I knew mom was trying to put up a brave face, but she was failing at it. She managed to control her sobs, however, her tears betrayed her. I hugged my little brother and tried to answer his questions. “Why aren’t you coming?” he asked. “Sissy I need your help when I do homework. I need you to play with me. Sissy, I will be so lonely if you don’t come.” He said. I looked at him with tears in my eyes. How was he supposed to understand? He was just 4 years old. “Syed... We can still talk on the phone. Ok? If you need help or if you feel lonely call me ok? Ask mommy or daddy. And when you grow older you can have your phone and we will talk. And maybe we can visit each other sometimes. Ok?” I told him as I crouched down to his level. Kira crouched down so that she too can talk with him. “Syed. Let me tell you a secret.” She said. “Would you like a baby?” she asked. I snapped my head at her with wide eyes. Oh no. What was she doing? She grinned at me mischievously. “Maybe if she says here she will get one.” She whispered. Thankfully everyone else was a little further away. But then as if fate was not on my side, Syed in his innocence exclaimed with a lot of excitement. “What?! A baby? Sissy can have one?” he practically screamed. I facepalmed while Kira just laughed. “Kiraaaa!” I groaned and ran after her. Everyone else seemed to have understood what had happened and started to laugh. At least that had broken some of the tension. “Well. It is time for us to leave.” Luke’s sister, Aisha said. Everyone held hands. “Call me every day.” Mom managed to say right before Aisha snapped her fingers and teleported everyone else back to the pack. I stared at the spot they were standing a moment ago. They were gone. They were gone. And now it is time for me to become an adult. I felt it was too soon for me. But still, I guess this is what it is like. A tear rolled down my cheeks. I felt Luke put his hand around me from one side and Kira squeeze my hand from the other. I smiled. At least I have these people with me now. Yail was beside Kira the whole time. He too has gotten closer to us and a little less awkward. “So let’s do something fun tonight?” he suggested. “Yeah. Let’s go to the tower. Has Sophie been there yet?” Kira asked. Luke chuckled. “That is where I proposed to her.” He said. I smiled at the memory. “let’s go there again. I love the view. And perhaps have a little tea party?” I said. “Then it’s settled,” Luke said. “We need to talk and bond as much as possible.” We nodded. That we must. We have a realm to look after. I wish to have a strong bond with them like that of what my mom and her friends have.
