Chapter 8 : Stupid advice

649 Words
Hailey hummed happily as she combed her silk-like reddish brown hair into a ponytail. She still had that stupid grin plastered on her face and just couldn't get rid of it. Sebastian's smile. It just would not leave her mind. She knew she had to be angry at him and shouldn't have forgiven him this easily. But she did. Ignoring the little voice that kept shouting in her mind telling her not to, she just followed her heart and forgave him. 'Always follow your heart' she remembered. This was a precious piece of advice after all, so why not just abide to it? 'He could have realized his mistakes and decided to change' she thought as she looked at her reflection in the mirror one last time before exiting the room. Sebastian was already in the kitchen, eating pancakes when walked in. 'I'm ready' she announced, grinning. 'We've got to cancel our plans for today' Sebastian said, his gaze still on his plate. 'Oh but why?' she asked, unable to hide her disappointment. 'I've got an important reunion to attend, my secretary just informed me about it' He replied. 'Oh it's okay' she said but her voice betrayed her. She sounded really disappointed. 'Look you can go shopping with Lilliana' Sebastian proposed, scratching his head, 'then come meet me after lunch and we'll go there' 'Aright' she exclaimed, the huge grin back on her face. 'I'll leave now' Sebastian informed. 'Okay. Have a nice day. We'll meet after lunch' she grinned and started walking towards the bedroom again to change when Sebastian cleared his throat. 'Yes?' she said as she turned to face him. 'Haven't you forgotten something?' He asked as he started walking towards her 'I don't think so' she replied. 'You sure?' He asked again as he continued to approach. 'Yes' she replied in a doubtful tone. 'I think you have forgotten something' He said as he wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer to him. 'What thing?' she asked in a whisper as she felt her breath hitched and her heartbeat quicken due to the sudden proximity. 'My kiss' He whispered back huskily before smashing his lips on hers. Instantly, she wrapped her hands around his neck and started kissing him back. His lips were soft against her and as he licked her lips and bite it, she felt her whole body turn on fire. She couldn't suppress the moan that threatened to escape and as she did so, he plunged his tongue in her mouth. They fought for dominance but at the end it was Sebastian who won. When they pulled apart Sebastian whispered, also breathlessly 'Now I'm sure to have a nice day' and walked out of the house. *************************************************** Hailey stepped into the huge building where Sebastian worked and walked directly towards the receptionist. 'Good afternoon Mrs. Ryder, it's a pleasure to finally meet you.' Diana smiled politely on seeing her. 'The pleasure is all mine' Hailey replied as she smiled back to her. 'What can I do for you?' Diana asked. 'I want to know if Sebastian's meeting is over.' 'Yes it is' Diana replied 'you can go see him' she smiled. As she walked towards Sebastian's office, Hailey couldn't help herself from remembering their kiss and she felt butterflies in her stomach. When she approached his office, she heard voices. Ignoring it, she pushed the door opened but her smile instantly vanished and tears started welling up her eyes as she stood there frozen, watching the scene that was unfolding. In front of her was Sebastian kissing a blonde girl that was straddling him. As she dashed out of the office with tears blurring her vision, she thought 'stupid advice' but then she realized it was her who had been stupid for having ignored the other part of the advice; 'Follow your heart... But bring your mind with you'
