Chapter 5

As she stood before the groom, she was trying to keep her composure. She took a deep breath and tried to slow down her racing thoughts, but her mind kept racing with questions and doubts. “How could this be happening? Was this some kind of sick joke?” Victoria stole a glance at Logan, and he winked slyly at her. His gaze sent shivers down her spine. As they exchanged their vows and became officially joined in marriage, Mrs Smith stepped forward to introduce the bride and groom. "This is Victoria," she said, gesturing towards the bride. "I sent you pictures of her." Then she turned to the groom and said, "And this is my son, Larry. I also sent you his pictures." Mrs. Smith continued, "Rest assured, Victoria is pure. No prince in our lineage would marry a defiled girl." Taking Victoria by the hand, she led her over to the royal family as part of their family customs. Victoria couldn't help but think about the mess she was getting herself into. Mrs Clinton thoroughly enjoyed herself at the wedding reception, surrounded by her female friends from a local group to which she belongs. They are all indulging in good food and having a great time together. The newlywed couple was summoned to the dance floor. Victoria and Larry swayed to the music, their bodies moving together in perfect harmony. As they danced, Larry leaned close to Victoria and whispered, "So, Victoria, tell me, you're still a virgin, right?" Victoria nodded in agreement, her head bobbing slightly. "So, what happened at the club two nights ago? I heard you met Logan at the club." Larry asked with a smile. With tears streaming down her face, Victoria pleaded with Larry,” I can’t remember all that happened that night, but I knew I made a mistake. Please," she cried. “Why are you begging me?” Larry asked. "We can put a halt to the wedding. Of course, we can do that. The girl I married had an affair with my best friend two nights ago." Victoria continued pleading, "What do we tell our mothers, your royal family, and all of the guests here? Please save me from this terrible situation. I'll do anything you want. Just save me." She continued to beg Larry. Larry confidently replied, "Just tell my mother you're not a virgin anymore, that you slept with Logan, my best friend two nights ago. That’s all you need to do, girl." She couldn't control her tears as she wept bitterly, filled with regret for her actions. "My plan was to hurt my mother, but I ended up hurting myself," Victoria said through sobs. Their dance ended, and the MC announced, "Now let us bring out Logan and Victoria for a special dance." Logan took Victoria's hand and led her to the center of the dance floor. After a few songs, Logan leaned in close and whispered, "Hey, Victoria, it’s good to see you again. You are a beautiful bride. Let’s forget that night.” He smiled. Victoria's expression turned solemn. She looked down at her feet, avoiding his gaze. “But Larry is aware of what happened.” Logan asked her with his brows raised, “Do you want to talk about that night with me?” She excused herself and hurried back to her room, leaving Logan standing alone on the dance floor. He had this sweet smile on his face. As the reception drew to a close, Larry and Victoria planned their next adventure: a flight to the bustling city of Los Angeles. The flight to Los Angeles was uneventful for Larry and Victoria. They arrived at their honeymoon home, a luxurious beachfront villa owned by the Smiths. The housekeepers greeted them with warm smiles and helped them with their luggages. The following morning, Victoria went to call Larry for breakfast but was taken aback when she found a girl in his room. She quickly shut the door and left for breakfast downstairs. Victoria sat alone at the breakfast table. She’s consumed with thoughts, and her thoughts are as heavy and gray as the clouds. Victoria's eyes were drawn to the sight of a familiar figure approaching. It was Amanda, the lady who run the exclusive club where she had her one-night stand. Her mood instantly lifted as Amanda joined her at the table. "Hey, Victoria," Amanda greeted her with a warm smile. "Amanda, what are you doing here?" asked Victoria with genuine surprise and curiosity. "Oh, I came with my boyfriend, Logan," replied Amanda with a playful twinkle in her eye. Victoria's jaw dropped in shock. Her expression turned into one of disbelief. "Logan Kingsley? He's your boyfriend!" Amanda chuckled at Victoria's reaction. "Yes, he is quite a catch, isn't he? I remember that night at the club when you couldn't take your eyes off him. But unfortunately for you, he's off the market." Victoria forced a smile and tried not to show her disappointment. "Well, you make a lovely couple." Amanda's face lit up with joy. "Thank you! Congratulations on your wedding" She then glanced at her watch and exclaimed, "Oh gosh, I have to go and meet Logan now. See you later, dear. Bye!" With a quick wave goodbye, Amanda left, and Victoria was once again left alone with her thoughts about Larry, Logan, her family, the one-night stand and the marriage. She sobbed vehemently, feeling hopeless and perplexed as to what to do. Victoria was cooped up in her room for most of the honeymoon, weeping excessively and trying to figure out what to do next. Victoria disappeared the morning they were supposed to leave Los Angeles. Larry looked for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Larry turned to face Logan, his brow furrowed in worry. “We have to find her before my mom finds out she's missing,” he said urgently. Logan nodded in agreement. “I'll talk to the IT department and see if they can track her down,” he replied, already pulling out his phone to make a call. After several tense hours, they finally located Victoria at a nearby park. Without hesitation, Larry wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a tight embrace. “You don't look well at all,” he said softly, concern evident in his voice. “We need to work this out together.” “Let's figure it out together, babe. Let's handle this within ourselves. We don't have to involve my mother or anyone else,” he said with determination. We can put on a facade of the happiest, lovey-dovey couple when we return home. I know my mom… She will be calling us to attend different events, occasions… but we'll handle it together." Taking her hand, he led her back to the room. Victoria smiled weakly, "Alright," she nodded her head.
