The Alpha Command

The next morning was such a fine day. Alpha Kaden headed out after breakfast to take care of some businesses, after we agreed to hold the initiation ceremony for me at night and then I’d officially become a part of the Ember moon pack. It was going to be a full moon today and like every pack does, there’d be a mini party. I offered to help by working with the Omegas to set up everything for the party at night when suddenly, I sighted Aliya coming towards me. “Luna—ehrm—Madeline. There are people here for you.” My eyes instantly narrowed as they snapped up at her. I couldn’t understand what people she was talking about. “Are you sure they are here for me?” She tilted her head curiously. “Yes. They said they were your family.” Could It be… was it Skylar? Since I was helping to knead the dough, I washed my hands off it before following Aliya out, into the living room. I’m not sure what Skylar would be doing here but if it was him, then he sure had some guts. I was ready to give him a piece of my mind but the moment I stepped inside and my eyes met his, then moved on to count a total of two more familiar faces, I froze. I stood there for a good minute, wondering, why these people were here. Of course it was for me, it was for what I was already thinking, dreading, as I took one more step further, and another. “Madeline dear.” A middle-aged woman stood up with a big smile on her face, approaching and embracing me in her arms like a mother would do, except there was no warmth. Her embrace was as ice cold as her heart, it made me tremble from terrible memories that flipped in my head before I whispered, “Aunt.” “It’s only been a few days and you’ve become so skinny. Why didn’t you come to us, Madeline?” her brows etched with concern that was obviously fake. A show put on for the spectator which was Skylar. Why didn’t I go to them? Did they forget everything already? Everything that they did to me, the reason I was so desperate to leave? “Yes. Why didn’t you come to us?” I let my eyes stray towards the second person who spoke. My aunt’s daughter, Evie, who hated me to death. “We heard what happened to you so we waited for you to come back home but you never showed up. Alpha Skylar told us you were here so we came to find you.” Aunt looked around curiously. “Who is the Alpha here?” “Our Alpha is currently out.” Aliya answered while I just kept staring at each of them. Was this the supreme Alpha’s message to me? Sending this people back into my lives. The people I hated the most, the ones I have been so desperate to get away from. The reason I agreed to accept a special mate contract with Skylar in the first place. “When is he going to be back?” Skylar asked Aliya and she glanced at me, not sure what was happening before she replied. “I don’t think it will be anytime soon.” “We have no choice then.” He said. “We have to take her with us. Do inform him of what went on while he was away. Maybe I’d come to greet him once again for taking care of Madeline for us.” I ignored Aliya’s question filled eyes, directing mine to Skylar. What was he on about? Why was he talking as though, nothing happened? Why was he here with these people today? “Quick quick, go pack your bags Madeline. Let’s leave quickly.” Aunt patted my back, pushing me away. A scoff left my lips as I remained unmoving, then I slowly peeled her hands off me, throwing her a glare when she tried to touch me again. “I’m not sure what everyone in this room is talking about but then, I’m sure it has nothing to do with me. If you’re done, please see yourselves out.” I tilted my head towards the door, ignoring Aunt’s shocked expression. I wondered how they got in here in the first place because I’m sure the pack’s house security was strong. They probably said they were close to me and was let in which was a fatal mistake. “Aliya, call the Beta please.” I told the girl and she nodded her head and hurriedly left. I doubt they’d leave just because I told them to. Alpha Kaden was not here to control the situation so the beta was the next person with the utmost authority who could throw them out of here if needed. “What is the meaning of this, Madeline? Is this how you’re going treat us after travelling all the way from home just to get you—” “I never asked you to get me and so you can return the same way you came through.” “Well, looking at it, you do have some guts now.” Evie said. “I’m not surprised you whored yourself around and got into this situation in the first place. Alpha Skylar was so nice to you.” I didn’t let her comment get to me. I raised my lips, and looked straight at her. “Then you can marry him. How old are you now Evie? Twenty-nine? Don’t tell me you still haven’t been able to keep anybody’s interest in you?” “You… how dare you Madeline!” she stood, her face getting red from anger. “We took you in when you had absolutely nothing. Is this how you’re going to pay us back?” “I already paid you back.” I said, strolling to her front, stopping and looking right into her. “For all the torture and the torment your family has put me through, I have paid you back in money. Did your mother not tell you how much she received from the supreme Alpha?” “W-what are you talking about?” She staggered back, probably ashamed this was coming to light. “That’s enough, Madeline.” Skylar said. I finally looked at him. This stern look he had on his face, I wondered if he thought he could intimidate me with it. “You’re coming with us and that’s final.” “And what makes you think you’re qualified to say that to me? You rejected me remember? And you exiled me. We no longer have anything to do with each other.” “You’re wrong.” He stepped closer to me. “The bond never broke.” “You knew?” a fleeting surprise crossed my face. “You knew but you still… you still f****d her… you still did that knowing it could kill me?” I couldn’t believe it. He knew the kind of pain he’d be putting me through but he still went ahead to sleep with someone else. He was worse than animal. I’d never imagine we would get to this point with each other. “I only knew after.” He swallowed, stepping even closer as he whispered. “You need to come back with us, Madeline.” “There’s something I don’t understand.” I blinked the tears away. “You keep saying to go back with you. To where exactly? The place you exiled me from or back to these people who claim to be my family?” “Father wants you back.” He told me. “And I’m here to get you.” Oh right. The supreme Alpha did send him here. I wasn’t mistaken. This was his answer to my message. And I thought he’d understand. I expected too much. “And if I refuse?” I tested, wondering what he’d do. What he had been ordered to do. “I’ll have to force you.” He whispered, looking at me with pleading eyes like I shouldn’t make him do what he was going to do. “Then I think you’ll have to force me because I’d rather die, than return...” “Madeline, you need to think twice. All preparations has already been made. Nothing you say or do would change anything.” Of course I knew that. But there’s no way I’d go back with them willingly. Skylar would just have to do what he had already planned if I refused. Use the Alpha command on me. I had just finished preparing my mind when I felt the sharp pain in my head, followed by Skylar’s voice. “This is the last thing I wish to do. Why are you making this difficult, Madeline?”
