The bartender sees me and walks towards me. Someone tried to get his attention, but he puts a finger up telling them to wait.

“Hello beautiful, I’ve never seen you here before” the bartender says.

“It’s my first time. Give me the strongest thing you have to drink” I said making his eyes widen but then he gives me a firm nod. He makes me a dark colorful drink then pours two shots before handing me one.

“Here, it’s on the house” he says as he hands me the shot.

“You shouldn’t give out shots for free. It’s bad for business” I said making him chuckle.

“I’m the owner. I’m sure I can manage just a shot on the house” he smiled and I smiled.

“Thanks” I said before downing the shot. It burned as it went down and I had to admit that the burn felt good.

“Want to talk about it? I’m told I’m a good listener” the bartender said. I arched an eyebrow and looked at him from head to toes.

“What makes you think that there is something to talk about?” I asked. He had this air of authority to him. He must be a Beta or a Gamma.

“Well, you look beautiful, you’re here alone, and instead of asking for something light even though you’re a werewolf you ask for the strongest drink I have” he says before tapping the spot next to my drink.

“Not to mention, you haven’t gone to the dance floor” he said and I chuckled.

“I’ll get there eventually” I said taking a sip of my drink. It’s sweet yet bitter and really good.

“This is good” I said making him smile. I take another sip before looking at the bartender.

“I’m Zack” he said extending his hand.

“I’m Yadieliz” I said shaking his hand.

“Where are you from?” he asks making me arch an eyebrow.

“You have a slight accent” he points out and I nod. I have been told I have an accent especially when I get mad.

“Puerto Rico” I said.

“What’s the name of the pack?” he asked.

“The Taino Pack” I said.

“Wait, like the Taino Indians?” he asks and I nod.

“You know about the Taino Indians?” I asked and he nods.

“I only know what I have read, but it’s not the same as seeing things in person” he said and I nod.

“So, why did you leave the Taino Pack?” he asked. There is no way I could tell him the truth, so I need to make something up.

“My mother lost her mate. Long story short the Alpha of the Dark Pack “fell in love” with my mother and vice versa” I said making him nod.

“Oh, okay. How do you like it here?” he asked. I take a long sip from my drink making him arch an eyebrow. I then look at him.

“It’s alright, I guess, but females are not allowed to become warriors and they are not allowed to train either” I said.

“What?” he asks and I nod.

“I know right. I said the same thing, so I finally received the okay to move to another pack. I will be training with them and I can work my way up to become a warrior” I said smiling at the last part.

“Are you any good?” he asks.

“I can hold my own. I father trained me before he past. Then mom made sure to continue training me until we got to the Dark Pack. She was no allowed to train me anymore, but the Alpha’s son, Steven always found a way to train me away from everyone. We have done this for years and when he’s not around I go to our hiding place and I train alone” I said. Not to mention the Alpha of the Taino Pack also trained me. The Alpha of the Taino Pack said that my parents were his best friends. He wanted us to stay, but mom wanted to be with Steven’s dad.

“Wow, nice” he said and I nod.

“Let me have two more shots of that burgundy liquid” I said. He got two shot glasses and poured it as I asked. I then passed one to him. He smiled raising his glass then we downed them.

“Zack, you can go on break. I’ll take over for now” a beautiful woman said. Zack nods before walking around the bar to my side just as I finished my drink.

“How about a dance. Maybe you can tell me what’s really bothering you” Zack said extending his hand. I smiled and placed my hand on his. I get up and he guides me to the dance floor. I see his eyes glaze over before the music changes to “Propuesta Indecente by Romeo”. I see people leave the dance floor while some just step back and look around. I smiled as Zack twirls me before we begin to dance tango style before turning to bachata. I can feel all eyes on me, but I don’t care.

“I didn’t know you danced bachata” I said.

“I had to learn. My brother’s mate is Puerto Rican and he loves to dance” he said and I nodded.

“So, what’s the real reason that you came to this club?” he asks. I go silent for a second before he twirls me making me smile.

‘Tell him. It’s not like we’re going to see him after tonight’ Addy said and I agreed.

“My boyfriend cheated on me with my stepsister” I said and his eyebrows went up to his hairline.

“What an asshole. When did you find this out?” he asks.

“Tonight, before I came here. I had just gotten home only to find him f*****g her in her room” I said truthfully.

“It’s okay. If he did that, then he doesn’t deserve you. It means that you were meant to be with your mate” he said.

“I wish that were true, but he didn’t want me either. He rejected me” I said truthfully.

“And why is that?” he asked.

“According to him, I wasn’t Gamma material, not to mention he had already chosen someone else as his mate” I said and Zack scoffed.

“I’m sorry, but he was also an i***t. You are a total babe and you’re a gift from the Moon Goddess, who in their right mind would reject their mate?” Zack asked. My mate did.

“You would be surprised” I said and Zack shook his head.

“You’ll find a man that is meant to be with you no matter what you want to do, he will support you and love you for you” Zack said.

“Thank you, Zack. You’re very nice” I said. The song ends and he bows like a gentleman and I curtsy before we both head back to the bar.

“That was fun. Thank you” I smiled.

“No problem. So, what do you do?” he asks.

“I’m a painter and I play a little piano” I said truthfully.

“Wow. So, are you any good?” he asks.

“I can hold my own” I said not wanting to brag.
