Capter 6: Every day will be normal

The next day, the entire Home Sweet Home restaurant got a day off because Macken caught a cold. But everyone knows that since the incident caused by Krik yesterday, he was so depressed that he could not stand up. Everyone was worried about Macken's health. Some people sent encouragement, some comforted, and some chose to remain silent because they understood the personalities of Macken and Katherine. They seemed to have forgotten about Katherine's presence even though her role was equally important in the restaurant. Perhaps the restaurant staff was all too used to Katherine's sharpness. Kenny will always be by your side, no matter what.

Katherine looked at the image of Macken and Kenny leaving the house and felt extremely warm inside. To her, he was like a little brother who was always ready to share everything and be by his side all the time. Today was supposed to be a normal Sunday like any other, when Katherine Manson wanted to make use of her cozy home to gather with Kenny. But she did not expect that her father would step out of the room and scold them both loudly. Because, according to him, she and Kenny were ' youths who relied on youth to neglect their health'. Not to mention that Lily, her half-sister, was still sleeping upstairs. At times like that, she just wanted to take Lily's ear down so that she could enjoy this wonderful feeling with her.

When Katherine ran upstairs to wake Lily, she saw her waking up. It's just that it's standing awkwardly in front of the mirror, looking painful. Katherine growled, coughing a few times as if to signal to Lily that she was at the door. But she was ready to say in a very provocative way: "If you are already standing there, then come in. There's no need to raise your voice and cough again. Let's be a little more mature, sister!"

For a girl who just turned seven years old, Lily is a prodigy at teasing and spoiling others. It's ready to talk like throwing cold water in someone's face. Sometimes she felt like Lily was the daughter of some food critic she'd wanted so badly to punch in the face. Katherine said as if shouting at Lily: "Hurry up and get your a*s downstairs!"

Lily sighed, and hurriedly followed Katherine to the kitchen, not forgetting to glance at her side-by-side. She opened the refrigerator and sighed silently, she said: "I have the right to sue the whole family in court! Look at the way your father and sister treat a lovely girl like you. There's nothing in the fridge today. I repeat, nothing at all? Is the restaurant bankrupt? You should at least tell me."

"Shut up! Don't mention the word 'Restaurant' in front of your father. Maybe we'll lose a Michelin Gold Star. He's been very upset since yesterday." Katherine glared at Lily. Lily raised her eyebrows challengingly: "You can be a dishwasher. I can't serve customers. Besides, we're going to sleep in the food truck, aren't we?"

In less than an hour, Macken had instructed Kenny to carry a load of food and other necessities home. Katherine Manson and Lily opened the door, she watched the two powerful people enter like a legion of charity relief and she and her sister were poor girls in need of help. Macken and Kenny rolled into the kitchen, each doing their own thing. Katherine leaned against the door and watched Macken happily cook. It's been a long time since Macken returned to the kitchen as a chef. Katherine felt that the kitchen was unusually cozy, and it reminded her of the old days.

All because Macken does not accept the fact that Katherine works as a culinary YouTuber. In his eyes, it is a transient hobby, not a stable job. So he took her to the Home Sweet Home restaurant to work. Although Katherine Manson has repeatedly expressed her views from soft to tough, she also shared with him about the results of her work, such as income, and advertising contracts... but his prejudice against the wet YouTuber job is still not much better. Yet in her saddest moments, Katherine found a second source of life. She loves cooking as she loves herself. Finally, to avoid conflicts and give herself a chance to try her hand at professional knife and panhandling, Katherine decided to become a real chef. And she has achieved a lot for herself.

Katherine Manson saw Macken still working hard at cooking, tears falling quickly on Katherine's face. She ran to him from behind and hugged him, and sobbed. Macken smiled softly, preparing food while comforting Katherine Manson. Lily criticized: "Katherine is as lying as the McDonald's burger ad. Do you only know how to do this to please your father? The old trick is better than a Hollywood 'remake'."

"Why did you give birth to this little demon? Please send it back to hell for me!!!" Katherine whined at Macken, an image Kenny was sure none of the kitchen staff could see. Katherine's words still could not touch Lily's pride, so she calmly sat down to prepare vegetables. He muttered under his breath: "Look what the virgin witch is standing saying. It's a pity for anyone who would date you."

Macken and Kenny heard Lily's words and then burst into laughter. The two did not expect that the child would be so sharp and sour. The scent wafted from the kitchen, and Macken quickly urged Katherine and Kenny to arrange the food for everyone to eat together. On the dining table, delicious dishes are presented attractively. Everyone was surprised by Macken's cooking skills. He smiled and said that when he worked as a kitchen assistant for a restaurant in Atlanta, he was always at home practicing cooking every day, so his skills doing improved like that. Katherine Manson sat silently beside him waiting for her to feed each dish, and Kenny and Lily were delighted to have a meal that was both delicious and epic. Lily glanced at Katherine from time to time, then pouted her brows and said rather harshly: "Did you know that Katherine is almost thirty? Why are you feeding her?"

"You just leave me alone, okay, Annabelle?" Katherine responds, but Lily doesn't give in until Macken signals the two to be quiet and enjoy their meal together.

Kenny took out his phone to take a picture as a souvenir. The whole room was warm, making everyone smile with happiness. At this point, Katherine and Lily quietly listened to Macken's story. He said that each dish has its own story, just as everyone has their own story. Finding a delicious dish does not need to be too extravagant and rare, but just a dish that makes us feel good, just like finding a person next to you, you don't need them to be perfect, just them. It makes us feel warm. Macken believes that outside the door of the house, no matter how stormy it is, inside, as long as everyone is happy and peaceful, it is enough.
