~four days later, evening, Shadow's cells~

Third person's pov

The guard closed the door with force after the woman got in the cell she was passing the last one week with Mira and Cassie. He locked the door in hurry and left quickly leaving the whole dungeons' area without supervision. 

Two hours later some men would go again to inject Cassie and Mira with wolfsbane but the three women had other plans that time...

"Are you two okay? Are you ready?" the woman whispered and walked quickly to Mira's side.

She was shaking from nervousness and agony, it was the first time after lots of years that she would manage to leave away and that was scaring yet exciting for her and her wolf. Those girls had made it, she had hope again!

"More than ready!" Mira replied and turned to look at Cassie smirking.

"The keys? Do you have them?" Cassie asked breathless.

The woman smiled and put her hands in her dirty dress's pockets without replying while Cassie was getting panicked as the seconds were passing. She knew that they were able to break the chains now with their wolves but they didn't want to make much noise. She hoped that their 'angel' had really managed to steal the keys and make it easier to leave their cell without anyone noticing.

The woman took her hands off of her pockets some seconds later and raised them up revealing the stolen keys and Cassie sighed relieved ready to cry.

"Thanks Goddess!" she exclaimed with her heartbeat rising second by second and her wolf ready to get on the surface.

"We have to move quickly, this time almost all the men have their meal. Cassie open the cells on the left side and Mira on the right. I will open the back door that is leading straight to the forest." The woman said in hurry and the girls nodded immediately.

"Cas, you are leading them. You are a good tracker and you can lead them, it will be easy. I will be the last one that leaves, 'angel', you go with Cassie and the other she wolves at the front. I will get sure they won't stop us and if I have to delay the men, I will. Okay?" Mira said and Cassie groaned in frustration.

"Again? Are you f*****g kidding me?" she asked angrily and Mira growled.

"I am your f*****g Alpha and stronger! I can deal with it, one of us has to make it and ask for help. If they catch me, they won't kill me, he needs me! You will be able to help me. So close your mouth and do once what you are ordered!" Mira said using her Alpha tone and Cassie nodded defeated knowing that Mira was in fact right that time.

"Okay, Mira first." The woman whispered and unlocked her chains quickly with shaking hands.

Once she unlocked the chains on her legs she left them fall on the floor slowly yet carefully in order not to make any noise and then did the same with the chains on her waist and hands. Mira touched the ground and moved a bit as she had days without moving at all and took some steps to the door taking deep breaths to get sure that the guards were long gone while the woman was unlocking Cassie's chains. Once Cassie got free as well she walked quickly to Mira and pulled her in her arms shaking overwhelmed.

They were both ready to cry, their heartbeats were way too fast and they wanted to scream but soon they gained their self control and the woman walked to their side obviously more energetic than any other time.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are saving us!" Mira told her and turned to hug her as well.

The moment they wrapped their hands around each other a wave of warmth began running through their veins and they both sighed. They felt a connection, the pull was even stronger but they didn't have that much time and Cassie had to remind them that they had to hurry in order to have a good reason to be happy again.

"Move, enough with the hugs. Later we can make hugs for days if you want my ladies..." she said quickly in frustration.

The woman quickly unlocked their door slowly and pushed it slightly to open. She got out and gave two types of keys to both Mira and Cassie.

"Open the doors close to us and then move to the beginning of the corridor. Tell them to be quiet or else we are all dead." She said and she quickly turned and run to the massive iron door at the end of the corridor.

Both Mira and Cassie began unlocking the first doors near their cell getting inside to explain the imprisoned she wolves what they had to do. Most of the women were very young but over 18, they had already shifted and they were in a quite good condition in order to run away. Some were quite confused or frustrated but with the help of the other young women they knew they realized what was happening and began getting out of their cells walking quickly towards the back door where the 'angel' was waiting.

"Thanks Goddess that the corridor is too large..." Mira told Cassie through the link and continued unlocking the cells and explaining to the last women what they had to do.

Fortunately, despite their fear that some of them would create problems nothing like that happened. The women were so desperate that showed great cooperation and did exactly what Mira and Cassie were telling them to. 

They were all gathered in front of the door, behind 'angel' who had already unlocked it but was waiting for Cassie to open it and lead them away. No one tried to shift at the corridor in order to be as discreet as possible. It was difficult to control their wolves that had gotten crazy but their will to get free was above all, they all found their lost strength and some minutes later the big time had come...

They were all outside their cells, ready to get out and Cassie passed by all of them and opened the door carefully while Mira was at the end getting sure the guards hadn't realized what was happening.

"We all shift once we get out of this door girls. Follow me and try to be as fast as possible. We can help you if you are determinate and stay close to me. My Alpha will be the last one, she will get sure that we will make it. Do it for yourselves and your families, we can help all of you! Ready?" Cassie whispered and all the women nodded impatiently with hope in their eyes for the first time after lots of months or even years.

"Go Cassie! I will be in the middle." 'angel' whispered and Cassie nodded.

Cassie was more ready than ever in her whole life. She was more determinate than any other time, she knew that it was then or never. They have to make it, they had to leave and reach at any pack or the palace. She had to be focused in order to find the right direction and leave as far as possible.

She opened the door slowly and took a timid step smelling the air, no guards, fortunately... 

She walked out and looked around her quickly to make sure that no one was near.

"Alpha, ready! I begin. Stay safe and try not to get into troubles..." she said Mira through their link once she got sure that everything was fine and shifted to her wolf.

She turned and signed to the other she wolves and slowly they all began getting out and shifting into their wolves forms. Cassie began running towards the forest in front of her when about twenty of them were ready behind her and they all began following her with a quite good rhythm. It wasn't that dark fortunately so they would be able to find their direction soon and then later it would be quite dark for the guards to follow them if they were lucky enough...

Almost all the she wolves were out of the dungeons when two guards from outside the pack house noticed that something was wrong due to their scent and began shouting informing the others. 

Soon some angry howls sounded from the pack house and Mira from the dungeons growled and pushed out the last five she wolves.

"Go, shift and run as fast as you can! I will delay them. Follow my Beta no matter what!" she told them in hurry and turned around the moment she heard the dungeons' front door opening.

"s**t! They all left! Adams is free! All the men here!" the first guard screamed and got ready to shift with some other men behind him.

"Moira get ready!" Mira roared and got out of the dungeons' corridor like a flash closing and locking the door behind her leaving the guards in.

"It was about time!" Moira replied shaking from anger and in a second her big, total black paws touched the ground as Mira shifted on the air and began running behind the last she wolves.

"Cas, they find it out! The guards outside the pack house took our scent. I locked some guards in the dungeons but it won't take them long to get out. Run faster!" she shouted through their link.

"Okay Alpha! I think I already know where we are, at least almost... In about two minutes I think I will be able to find the right direction. Run!" Cassie replied and speeded up.

Mira kept on running behind all the she wolves and some seconds passed when some loud, angry howls sounded from some distance behind making her understand that Shadow's men were surely chasing them now and they had to hurry even more. 

They had to make it no matter what, at least one of them, Cassie...

"They are not that fast Mira..." Moira said worried realizing that the men were getting closer as their scents were betraying them and the she wolves weren't able to run faster.

"No way Sherlock..." Mira groaned in frustration and stopped running immediately.

She had to delay them... She had to fight, again!

As a true Alpha, a good leader she had to make sure the others would be safe and sound. It was her place to stay back and make sure that they would all make it, it was her duty! Her father had taught her that no matter what she had to save 'her' people...

Those she wolves might weren't her pack's members but it was in her blood to help them, they were victims and she had to make sure that they would get away.

She turned around and took her position growling and waiting patiently for Shadow's men to appear, the first of them would be lost... 

Moira wasn't joking, she had lost her patience and her anger had passed every limit. She was trying to create oy problem all those days from the moment she had woken up but the time had come for her to do what she knew best...

To fight, kill and scatter the fear to anyone that would stand opposite of her.

"Cas, tell me you found the right direction!" she told her through their link in hurry and some seconds later the good news came.

"I did... About two hours away from our pack's northern border! Soon I will be able to mind link the pack if we continue like this and get close our territory. Is everything good?"

Mira and Moira both sighed relieved and smirked satisfied. Everything was going to be alright, in the end...

"I am going to delay the men! Keep on pressuring them to run as fast as possible. Cas, I know you can make it, do not stop, not until you reach our territory and find Oliver, Max and my uncle. Kiss Ethan and Angel, tell everyone I love them and I will be waiting for you! I love you, I am counting on you, do not worry!" she replied and Cassie growled in protest but said nothing defeated.

She knew that Mira was right, she was her only hope and she had to make it, for her...

"For you sister! I promise, we will come back for you soon! Be careful!" she replied after some seconds and Mira closed the link the moment one grey wolf appeared some meters in front of her.

The wolf stopped violently in her view and almost fell on the ground with his tail between his legs and his body in submission from fear but he wasn't going to save himself like that...

In fact he wasn't going to save himself at all!

"Let the show begin, shall we?" Mira asked Moira who growled and jumped on him like a flash.

She grabbed him immediately from the back side of his head and pressed her big, sharp teeth in his skull making him scream in pain. The next second she left him fall on the ground deadly hurt with an uncontrollable bleeding and got ready to block another wolf that appeared from her right and tried to attack her.

It wasn't difficult to avoid him in time and hit him with her paw earning some time to defend herself from the next three wolves that were running quickly to her ready to attack in union. She was fast although she had days to eat and rest properly, her father's training was the key as always. He was too strict with it, he demanded from her to become the best and obviously she was, no one was able to do what she had done.

She continued blocking, defending, attacking and avoiding more and more wolves as the minutes were passing without stepping back or losing time for any reason until she heard a loud familiar howl from somewhere behind her and then a shotgun.

Before she could realize what had happened she fell on the ground in her wolf form with Moira howling in pain and managed to keep her eyes open to see the familiar black wolf taking some slow steps to her with a mix or wary and anger in his bright brown, almost orange eyes.

It was him again...

Her biggest enemy, the coward that never dared to fight her fairly, the one that was always using his men as a shield from her.

Why did she have the feeling that he was feeling sympathy for her somewhere deep inside his heart? 

Why did she have that weird feeling? 

Why she had never felt any real threat from him or his wolf?

What was wrong?

She took a deep breath when he stopped two meters away from her and tried to get up but her strength was long gone, the wolfsbane had done its job again and soon she was going to fall asleep and shift in her human wolf.

"Mira, stay strong!" Moira whispered weakly with a cracking voice and some seconds later Mira stopped feeling her.

"I will..." she whispered breathless and her eyes started closing with the last thing to see being a mix of grey and white, big she wolf jumping in front of her protectively.

She was very familiar...

~about two hours later, Mira's pack~

Oliver's pov (Mira's cousin and the second Beta)

I look outside my office's window the moon that has begun rising in the sky.

Nothing is the same one week now, no one is smiling or laughing, no happy voices, no strength at all.

After Mira and Cassie 'disappeared' we are all devastated! The whole pack has gotten crazy about their Alpha and Beta, the family is broken, there is a black cloud above all of us and we feel like drowning.

I am doing my best to keep everyone and everything under control as Mira would want but it is difficult for me to deal with anything when I know there is a big possibility to lose them both forever. 

Mira was everyone's strength and weakness at the same time, now that she is not here everything is pointless. The pain in my heart is permanent, it never leaves or faints.

I keep on recalling the first day I met them back to Australia, the feelings, the thoughts, the hopes, the relief, the pride... One look and I knew it was her. She immediately became my rock and not only because she was going to become the Alpha but because she is something...

She became the example for all of us, her courage and behavior stole our hearts, her smile was our light and her every word was full of wisdom. Having Mira as an Alpha is a blessing, having her as family is luck, no one has to worry when she is on his side. Fighting next to her was an unwritten contract that you would be alive no matter what after any battle.

She is the best of all of us, no one can replace her and I am afraid that if she doesn't come back we will be all lost, the family, my uncle, the kids, the pack, everyone, even Liam who proves he really loves her.

And Cassie...

Well, the craziest person in the world is not here anymore to make us laugh and cheer us up with her jokes, pranks, funny expressions and unique comments.

She is my partner, the other Beta, the one with whom I work almost all day every day and now? I am alone for good, I do not talk with her on the phone every day, she is not texting me to tell me to move my ass and have everything under control because she doesn't want to be pressured when they come back...

Goddess why us?

Mira or my uncle and Zoey had never done anything to anyone, they all love them. Why someone keeps on threatening us?

"It's late, go and try to rest a bit..." my wolf murmurs worried as I have days to sleep even for half an hour.

"I can't. My mind is on them all the time..." I reply and sigh ready to cry.

What are we going to do?

"Oliver!" Max screams and breaks into my office with an expression like he has seen a ghost.

No, s**t!

"What is it? Do we have any news?" I ask him breathless and instinctually start shaking.

"Why do you have your mind link closed?"

"Are you f*****g serious? You are scaring me till death to ask me about it brother?" I roar disappointed.

"Open the damn link i***t!" he shouts and smirks.

What an asshole young brother I have!?

I sigh and open the link rolling my eyes ironically and wait but nothing.

"And? What? Are you playing with me?" I ask him through my teeth and he breaks into laughter in joy.

He has lost his mind for sure, he is crazy!

"Are you avoiding me?" her i***t, annoying scream echoes in my head and I jump up surprised with my heartbeat stopping.

"Cas?" I exclaim breathless and she laughs as a response.

"Surprise! I am back bitches and I am not alone!"

"Mira?" I ask and rush outside my office heading downstairs like someone is chasing me.

"We... We will talk about it. For now let us get in the territory, I am not alone. And! Inform the others to come, NOW! In some minutes I will be outside the pack house." She says shortly and I say a quick yes.

"Dad! Call uncle and the others! Cassie is here, she got free!" I shout getting in the living room and find him already talking on the phone.

"Cassie is getting inside the pack's territory from the north! About 100 she wolves are with her. Come here now, Mira is not with her but Cassie can explain us everything! Hurry brother!" he says in hurry, ends the call and turns to look at me smiling relieved.

"They made it!" Max exclaims joining my side.

"Oliver! Is it true?" Harper screams and rushes in the room with my mom behind her.

"Yes, they did it! These two made their crazy stuff again!" I reply and hug her tightly when she reaches me.

"I can't believe it! Why does Cassie has so many she wolves with her?" my mom asks still shocked.

"I think I know but let's leave it to Cassie to explain..." I murmur and mind link every pack member to be ready for their arrival.

They will be here from minute to minute...

"Let's fo outside and wait for them! I can't stay in here anymore." Max states and walks out of the room with my parents and Harper with me following him.

We get out after some seconds and I see lots of pack members already running to us like crazy from the other houses. They are happy with the news I told them!

"Oliver is it true? Is Cassie back? Did she manage to escape?"

"Mira? Where is the Alpha?"

"How many she wolves? What happened?"

Lots of question that should have made me angry by now but this moment I really do not care at all! I am happy!

"We are waiting for Cassie! We will know everything once she arrives." My father states using his alpha tone and they all nod in silence more impatiently than before as more pack members are joining us.

Please Cas be quick! I can't wait for too long!

We stay outside the pack house for some more minutes until we hear that familiar howl that makes us all freeze, she is here!

The scent of her and the she wolves is hitting our noses and I walk through the crowd with difficulty to stand in front of them in order to be the first who is going to meet Cassie. By the time she arrives all the pack except from the kids are behind me and my parents, Harper and Max are joining my side with their eyes locked on the forest in front of us.

And then we see her...

Her light brown wolf is stepping out of the forest and she speeds up even more once she sees us.

"Cas!" I shout and start running to her with Max behind me.

"I thought I wouldn't make it, damn it!" she say breathless through our link and slows down with the she wolves behind her doing the same.

I fall on my knees breathless with my legs shaking two meters before I reach her and break into sobbing from relief... At least now we found our lost hope, Cassie is back and she can lead us to Mira.

"You have no idea how happy I am!" I say through my sobs and feel her tapping my shoulder with her paw.

"You have no idea how exhausted, worried and relieved I am. You won't get rid of me that easy silly!" she replies and falls on the ground trembling.

"s**t! Call Axel now!" Max screams and I immediately jump up to help Cassie in any way I can with my parents, Harper and the whole pack rushing around us.

"Meet my special team... They are the she wolves the psycho asshole was holding in his dungeons in order to blackmail male wolves, like the two we have from that attack. We helped them get free and I took them here, we couldn't leave them there. They need help, they are in worse condition than me." Cas whispers fighting to find her lost breath and I lift my head to see them.

She is right! Most of them are too skinny, too small, dirty and a great number of them is laying on the ground breathing with difficulty. 

This is really heartbreaking!

"Everyone move! Help the she wolves. Bring them clothes and help them go to the hospital. I want all the doctors and nurses there, now! We need to take care of them, feed them and leave them rest." My father orders and the whole pack does as he said.

"Where is Mira? Cas, what happened to both of you? Where have you been?" I ask her in hurry.

"Did you call the others?" she asks dizzy.

"Yes baby. They are on their way! Now tell me please."

"We were caught by that psycho, Shadow. He had a trap for Mira and I found it out and went to help her. We were in his prison about two hours from our territory, the place is well hidden in the mountains but I remembered it was familiar and managed to find the right direction... 'Angel' helped us and our wolves but she stayed back with Mira to delay Shadow's men, they are caught again..." she whispers and the next second passes out.

"Cas!"

~at the same time, Shadow's dungeons~

Mira's pov

Shit, my head is killing me...

What the hell happened and why do I feel so cold? 

Who is holding me in his arms rubbing my shoulders?

I groan and try to move but I feel the pain travelling from my head to all my body and sigh. Of course Moira is absent again and I have been shot with wolsbane, again!

"Mira? Are you okay? Open your eyes please!"

Why do I think I know this voice? It is very familiar, this whisper...

I open my eyes slowly with great difficulty and let out a low murmur when I see 'angel' staring at me with wary and tears on her eyes.

I thought she was with Cassie... 

Why is she here? 

Didn't Cas make it?

I try to speak and ask her but the only thing I manage to do is some weird, short voices and she stops me by placing her hand on my lips.

"Shhh... Try to take it easy my child! The dose was too much this time. I am sorry I couldn't help you!" She whispers crying and I nod as clearly as I can.

God! 

When I take him in my hands I will kill him! 

What a f*****g coward...

"The good thing is that you are not going to be chained this time... We just have to stay away from the silver chairs..." she continues and I blink my eyes to let her know that I listen to what she is telling me but then it hits me!

The wolf...

Is she the grey- white big wolf I saw before I close my eyes and lose my consciousness?

This is going to be difficult but I have to make it, I need to gain my strength, this is getting weirder...

"Ar... You... Gre...White wol...?" I say as better as I can and groan annoyed.

"Yeah... I am a mixed grey- white wolf with bright blue eyes..." she replies and I open my eyes widely as the realization hits me like a lightning.

How?

How haven't I seen her eyes clearly even once all these days?

She had her face bended most of the times and it was quite dark in the cell but...

"Help... Me... Up." I say and she helps me sit up with my back touching the wall behind me for support after she hesitates a bit.

I feel relieved that the light in this cell is brighter and my weak heartbeat gets stronger and faster second by second as I am thinking about it.

Can it be?

"Your eyes... Let me see..." I say louder than before and she stiffens nervously but in the end lifts her head up properly and...

I see them!

This can't be, I must be dreaming...

I do not know what to feel, relief or pain for what she survived?

And why, how, who, when?

She is...
