"Her hand in his... And then... They became each other's tomorrow..."

Liam's pov

"So tell me what happened to my daughter. Why is she like this? I thought I told you and Max to take care of her Cilia." Jacob says with clear anger in his voice and takes one step to her.

We are all sitting in the living room waiting for Cilia to explain us what happened to Mira and the more we wait the less patient we get.

"You know her uncle, she almost killed us back there! We couldn't have insisted more than we already did. After we left to chase them we tracked them almost 4 kilometers away from our territory's borders. They were in a neutral land and Mira wanted to catch them before they got away for good and opened their distance from us. The rogues were trying to disappear through the mountains." She explains and Jacob nods for her to continue when Ryan and Zoey walk in the room in hurry.

"Where is she?" Zoey asks shaking and Paul signs for her to sit down.

"She is in her room mother, her doctor is with her. She will come down soon, she is fine. Don't worry." He explains and she stares at us panicked.

"Doctor? What happened to my baby?" she screams outraged.

"Cilia is explaining to us what happened Zoey. Calm down and be patient. The most important thing now is that she is here with us." Alpha Nolan tells her in frustration and she nods slowly.

"Continue." I order Cilia and she takes a deep breath.

"There was no way for us to catch them by taking the safe path through the mountains. We would be late, they were too far in front of us. Mira made a plan... We disagreed but she didn't listen to us. She told us she would take the dangerous path and appear in front of them. At the same time we would take the safe one and Mira would hold them enough for us to reach them." She explains and I jump up with frustration.

Is this woman crazy?

Jacob, Paul and Colton are staring at me serious yet angry, James, Cassie and Lily are speechless with my behavior and April is smiling at me softly.

"Go on Cilia." Jacob growls and she nods.

"I and Max disagreed and tried to change her mind but she didn't listen, she was determined and that was her final word. We did as she told us. We took the safe path and she took the dangerous one. We were trying to reach them as fast as possible, we were extremely worried about leaving her alone. After about half an hour we began smelling them and we accelerated. Um...." She pauses and looks down on the ground awkwardly.

"Cilia don't stop now. What happened next?" Cassie shouts ready to lose her patience.

"It was dark, it was night and it was difficult to see clearly but we found her fighting against ten wolves. She had already killed nine, they had circled her and she was full of bites from them, scratches from the shrubs with thorns, she was covered with blood and she was out of control." She says and the first tears fall from her eyes.

"f**k!" Jacob, Ryan and I scream together and they all turn and stare at us frozen in silence.

"She seemed able to handle them but we all run and helped her. We took some of them with us, we sent them back at the pack, Oliver and Max will interrogate them with my father. Mira had lost lots of blood but she was alright, I mean she is strong. When I asked her what happened the only thing she told me is that something was wrong." She concludes and I stare at her confused.

"What do you mean?" Ryan asks.

"I don't know. This is the only thing she told me from that moment. From her behavior I am sure that whatever happened back there is serious and important. She is thinking about something and I am afraid no one can convince her to talk about it. I asked her many times and she ignored me." She replies and Jacob looks at April troubled.

"We have to make her tell us. She is always calm and nothing makes her so worried without a good reason." He says through his teeth.

"What do you think that happened?" James asks Jacob confused.

"We will never know. Until Mira decides to tell us. She is afraid of nothing and being so silent is not a good sign..." Cassie whispers and Jacob buries his face in his palms frustrated.

"We will wait for her and we'll see..." Ryan suggests and we nod.

I want to go to her room and see how she is but I know I will make her even more upset and I don't want it after what she has been through all these hours. 

I have to be patient, the only thing that matters is that she is here now. 

I have enough time to talk to her and get closer to her, I am her mate after all. She won't be able to push me away for too long, our bond is still strong and I will do anything I can in order to gain her trust and her heart again.

~about two hours later~

Almost two hours now Mira is locked in her room with the doctor. 

No one dares go and interrupt them, we are all still sitting in the living room waiting for them to come down. 

This is killing me, what if she is in so bad condition? 

I get up unable to just sit and wait and walk up and down the room in frustration.

"You are making me dizzy man. Sit down." James tells me and I groan losing my temper.

"My mate is locked with a doctor in her room for the last two hours and you tell me to calm down? I am sorry but I can't." I yell and Paul gets up and walks to me menacingly.

"She is not your mate anymore jerk. Stay away from her and her children." He whispers and I take one step to him threateningly.

"I am her mate still, our bond is still here!" I say pointing my heart.

"And her children are mine as well. They are my family you like it or not. I know I was wrong and I feel bad about it, okay? You may be worried about them but believe me I am more worried than you or anyone else. So close your mouth." I yell and Zoey gets up and comes in the middle of us with a really scary, dark expression.

"Enough both of you. Paul your sister is old enough and she is truly capable of deciding about her life. And you Liam be very careful because the next time you will hurt her or my grandchildren I will kill you with my own hands. We all have our eyes on you." She tells to both of us and we bow our heads with respect.

Yes, I just bowed!

She is her mother, I have to show respect, she is the woman who gave birth to her. 

I am a parent now, even if I don't know my children or anything about them I love them and I want them safe and happy. I understand all of them now, they all love Mira and they are right to be so protective over her and our twins.

"Oh, you are here! I am glad you are all gathered together. I won't have to repeat myself then." Mira's doctor, Axel says while getting in the room.

"How is my daughter Axel?" Jacob asks him with wary.

"She is better now. She was lucky, she came here in time! If she was some more minutes late she would have passed out from the loss of blood. She is almost healed, she had bites, cuts, scratches, bruises all over her body but..." he explains but Paul growls and makes him stop.

"You mean you saw my sister naked!?" he screams and my face turns red from anger.

"Hey relax, there is nothing new for me about it..." he says wickedly and smirks.

"You son of a..." I shout and walk to him angrily ready to punch him.

He watches MY mate naked and he has the audacity to say it like that? 

I want to kill him and Phobos is groaning outraged, okay, he is her doctor but enough is enough!

"Axel stop teasing them." Mira's voice echoes and she gets in the room wearing a long, narrow, grey, casual dress with her hair down in big waves, a light makeup and flat black boots.

"I am sorry Alpha, I just wanted to have some fun. I am lucky you didn't kill me up there." He says laughing and I stare at them confused with my mouth widely open.

"Yes, you are lucky because I was in pain and you were asking me silly questions Axel." She says looking at him with her eyes narrowed.

"Um... Yeah..." he whispers awkwardly and I am ready to punch his on the face for good now.

"Liam enough!" She says, walks to me and grabs my hand.

"He saw you naked!" I tell her with complaint like I am a small child ready to cry.

"He is my personal doctor Liam, he helped me give birth, he helps me heal, he checks on me. Of course he has to see me like this, especially when I have wounds all over my body and I am bleeding everywhere. Relax." She tells me in a serious and steady tone and turns leaving away from me like nothing is happening.

"Well... Looks someone is jealous... Ding dang dong..." Axel says again smirking and I raise my hand ready to scream.

"Remind me one reason I made you my personal doctor Axel." Mira yells frustrated preventing me and I clear my throat.

"Mmm because I am the only one that calms you down with my jokes even when you are in pain and you allow me to help you?!" he answers and laughs.

"Okay, I had enough of your stupid jokes for today. Take Harper with Jack and go back to the pack now." She orders him annoyed and he blinks in shock.

"What? Are you that heartless? I am tired." He yells and Mira laughs but doesn't reply to him again.

"Where are Harper and my children?" she asks and turns to April.

"They are playing outside." She replies and Mira nods smiling.

"Okay, thank you. Excuse me, I have to see my babies." She says and gets out of the room.

I look at Cassie and James. I want to follow her but I am not sure it is a good idea, their expressions don't help me a lot also...

"I will go with her too." Cassie adds and Lily stands up ready to join her.

Soon, Zoey and Hannah with Cilia and April get up and all the women leave out of the room leaving all the men alone. I take a deep breath and give a pointing look at James. He stands up and we walk out of the room and back to my room. We get in after some time and he closes the door.

Finally, some freedom...

"I am acting like a teenager, right?" I ask him and he laughs.

"You have a heart. Finally!" he says through his laughter and I take one pillow and throw it to him.

"Yes? And you are an i***t! I saw how you were acting with Cassie all these hours." I yell smirking teasingly.

"I know, I did whatever I felt. I wanted to hold her in my arms and so I did. I love her and I want to show my love for her to everyone. I am glad Mira helped me." He replies and I cough surprised.

"Did you talk with Mira? What did you say?" I ask impatiently.

"I told her about Cas and she agreed to help me, that's why she asked her to come here yesterday night. And we talked about you and your stupidity."

"What did she say? Tell me James, don't make me wait." I beg him.

"Oh man... You are worse than I had thought. You are acting like a lost puppy." He teases me and laughs again.

"Tell me asshole." I scream and he raises his hands defeated.

"She doesn't trust you. She is confused but after the way I saw her behaving downstairs some minutes ago I think she has still feelings for you. She liked the fact that you were jealous and worried about her. Don't screw it up again." He murmurs thoughtfully and crosses his hands in front of his chest.

I sigh heavily and walk to the balcony door and get out. 

I spot all the women together playing and having fun with Ethan, Angel and Jack. 

My eyes are following Mira's every move. She is kneeled down with our children in her arms. She is laughing while they are kissing her like crazy. She seems happy and calm like nothing has happened the last day. She is so gentle and shows so much affection to them. They seem very happy and united, there is so much love between them.

My vision gets blurred from tears, my hearts is ready to explode in my chest as I am realizing more than ever that I have a family. 

The woman of my life, the woman I hurt so much in the past, the one I thought I hated for five years, this woman is the one who gave me everything I was refusing. 

She had told me she was in love with me some days after we first met, she was so excited about us, she was so pure and humble and I had never imagined that I would be able to say the same thing now...

I was such an i***t back then, I am regretting it. I told her so many times that she was weak, ugly, fat, useless and I broke her heart. I thought she would never show so much strength but now I see that she was always the stronger and I was the weak one.

She was always perfect, she had always power over me and I was afraid of it. 

I love this woman, she is my other half, my mate, my Luna, my everything. I need to make her trust me, accept me, love me.

"They look very happy." James whispers and stands next to me.

"They are my everything James. My whole world. I am in so much pain." I tell him and he taps my back gently in encouragement.

"Give it a try my friend. She is a strong woman. She had to become one. She suddenly had to be an Alpha, a Luna, a mother and a father. She can do anything if she really wants to. She can forgive you but... You have to try more than any other time in your life..." He advices me.

"I understand you now James. I am so sorry you had to be in so much pain all these years. I bearably stand all this pain until now and it has been almost two days." I murmur and he gives me a weak smile.

"Let's go. We can go and join them. I will help you find the right opportunity and talk to her." He says and I follow him quickly with a heart  that is beating like crazy from fear yet enthusiasm.

Mira's pov

"Mommy, we missed you!" Angel whispers with a complaining expression on her face.

"I missed you too baby! We can spend as much time as we want together now." I reply and tighten my hold around her and continue sitting down on the ground with the thick, green grass. 

Ethan is running and yelling trying to get away from Lily and Hannah who are chasing him shouting that they will catch and tickle him. My mom, Cassie and April are sitting around me enjoying the sun and the peace. Harper left for our pack two minutes before and Cilia went to her room to get some rest and clean herself.

"Mira don't think I have forgotten what you did..." Cassie whispers suddenly and it takes me some seconds to realize she is talking about James and my small lie to help him.

"He told you, huh?" I ask and she nods with a shy smile.

"Oh Cas, I think I made you a favor so stop complaining. You must be glad I helped." I tease her and she giggles.

"Well, I can make the same thing for you, you know...." She whispers wickedly and I roll my eyes annoyed.

"Cas, cut the bullshit please." I beg her and lay down staring at the clear sky .

Angel moves lightly in my arms to free herself and I let her get up and run to play with Ethan and the others. My mother and April get up in a quiet way and join them almost immediately. They are laughing, yelling and giggling running around us at the big garden. I giggle happily and Cassie comes and lays next to me.

"They were both really worried about us. Liam cried you know..." she whispers in sympathy.

"I don't know Cas. How about you and James? He really loves you." I tell her wanting to change the subject.

"He is very sweet, I know he has feelings for me and you know I love him but I need time and more proofs." She explains and I smile relieved.

"Yes, you are right! I like him but he rejected you and you were in pain all these years!"

"What about Liam? I know you feel weird and your heart is melting for him second by second. You are not that cold with him..." she notices and I shake my head confused still staring at the sky.

Well... This is a very good question but I have no idea how to feel or what to think! I can't forget what happened, he might have changed but this is not so simple anymore. I am not afraid of him hurting me again but now I have two kids and I don't want their hearts broken like mine!

"Mate is near." Moira states and I turn and look at Cassie that is turning to me with knowledge.

"They are here." She tells me through the link and I nod.

"James!" Ethan yells and giggles loudly.

I sit up and stare at Ethan who is running quickly to James. 

James lifts him up and they laugh happily. Liam is next to him staring at Ethan with a big bright smile and some seconds later he turns his gaze to me and then to Angel. He walks to me slowly and I stiffen a bit awkwardly. 

Cassie gets up slowly and walks to James who is tickling Ethan playfully and I try to ignore Liam and look away. He approaches me and sits down some inches away from me in silence.

My whole body start shaking from the closeness and I gasp for air. I feel sparks the moment he places his hand on mine and caresses it gently. I gain my power and turn to look at him in the eyes but he doesn't stop, he is smiling warmly and continues caressing my hand with affection. We stare at each other in the eyes for some more time before he leans closer to me and I hold my breath and my heart skips a beat.

I don't know what is happening, really!

"I was worried." He whispers and his expression changes immediately, now I see pain yet regret.

"You didn't have to, I am a stranger for you and I had no problem as you saw! I am fine." I whisper trembling and lower my gaze avoiding eye contact with him.

"First of all you are not a stranger for me! And secondly you weren't fine and I can feel you are still nervous. You need to eat and rest." He says softly and I feel my cheeks burning.

This is awkward, this is bad, this wasn't suppose to happen, he can't be serious right now!

"Mom!" Angel shouts, runs to me and buries herself in my lap interrupting us.

For worse, better... I don't know!

She turns and looks at Liam almost immediately, He gives her a big smile and she smiles excited at him and raises her hand for a handshake.

"I am Angel." She introduces herself giggling shyly and Liam chuckles raising his hand and taking Angel's little hand in his.

"I am Liam. Nice to meet you Angel!" he says and continues staring at her never stop smiling.

"Mom his eyes' color is just like mine. Isn't it cool?" she asks me breathless from excitement and I feel I am turning pale.

I want to disappear right here and now!

"Yes baby. You both have beautiful eyes!" I manage to say and Ethan jumps on my back suddenly catching me off guard.

"Mom who is this?" he whispers in curiosity.

"His name is Liam." Angel tells him and turns and looks at Liam again.

"Do you want to be friends?" She asks him impatiently with hope.

"Of course sweetheart!" Liam replies and she jumps up on him excited.

Liam wraps his arms around her and smiles relieved, I stare at them shocked and ready to burst into tears. Moira who was against all of these two nights ago is purring in my mind happily now and Ethan comes slowly and sits on my lap giggling.

My mother, Lily, Hannah and April are staring at us discreetly from a big distance and James with Cassie are somewhere behind us alone.

Angel is caressing Liam's cheek softly and he laughs slightly. Ethan teases me shaking my arm and I look at him with curiosity.

"Have you eaten mom? Did you sleep?" he asks me in a serious tone.

Shit!

"Um..." I try to find a good innocent lie but he knows me too well.

"The truth mom. You haven't eaten or slept, right?" he asks me seriously and I nod ashamed.

"Mom! You promised us you will be careful!" he shouts and Angel looks at us worried with Liam observing us obvious surprised.

"You are a bad girl mommy! You didn't keep your promise." Angel shouts in frustration and I look at her with a puppy look in order to make her calm down.

"No mommy. You will eat now." Angel yells and it is official, my tricks are not helping anymore...

"Mom come on! You eat and go to sleep!" Ethan almost commands me and Liam laughs.

"Well done Ethan and Angel. You are taking care of mom, right?" he asks and they nod in union.

"We love mom and we want her happy. We take care of her just like she does with us." Angel says and he smiles.

"And I am the man of the family. I have to take care of my girls." Ethan states proudly and I stare at Liam shaking emotional.

Liam lowers his head for some seconds and gives me a short, discreet, painful look with a dose of pride. He clears his throat again and forces a warm smile.

"You are a great man then Ethan." he says and Ethan smiles.

"I am taking care of mom until dad comes to us, she is strong but she needs him!" He continues and I am ready to pass out from the bomb Ethan just threw.

Not that Liam seems to be in a better condition and I don't know why! It's his fault, how can he feel sorry now?

"I am sure he is proud of you Ethan and you are right, your mom needs someone to stand by her side and love her! " Liam tells him after a while and pulls him gently in his arms with Angel.

I stare at them without breathing and my heart breaks for good now!

Liam and our kids...

The man I loved like crazy, the man that killed me or that was what I was thinking until recently. This man may have hurt me but he gave me the best present of my life, my kids, our kids. He seems so happy with them in his arms, so relieved and peaceful. 

He is smiling and shining from happiness.

He gives me a sweet childish smile and I force myself to hold back my tears. 

He is acting like this for the first time. He shows affection. 

He adores them even if he has two days since he met them for the first time. He was jealous of Axel back inside and he was worried about me. I know that what Cassie said is true. I may have still feelings for him except from the hatred.

What am I going to do now? What if they need their father in their life?

What if I need him in my life?

How am I supposed to behave?

Hello everyone!

This is the 6th chapter and I am back with a quite emotional chapter (for me).

As always I am waiting for comments and opinions! Liam is trying to approach Mira, he doesn't look able to hide his feelings and Mira is... Calmer than the usual! What do you think of all these? I think that Ethan and Angel are a big 'help' for Liam, they like him!

So what is going to happen next? Which is going to be Liam's next move? Is Mira going to soften more and if yes for how long (I don't think she is going to accept him just like that)?

Also I want you to know that I am always going to reply to your comments even with a small delay and secondly about the book let me tell you that this book is published in another app (w*****d) and I need two more chapter for its end. So it is quite easy for me to uapdate it but I am delaying it somehow because these first chapters needed some changes as I wrote it about one year ago and I wasn't so familiar with writing, I know I need more improvement although but anyway. I want to give you the best I can so I am correcting some things and then I am updating here. And moreover I am not completely sure if I will add some 'hot' scenes here (probably only the slightests). Okay, this is it, I guess!
