~next morning~

Liam's pov

I open my eyes slowly as the light is blinding me and after some seconds I manage to distinguish everything around me and then I remember everything... 

I slept with Mira last night, we mated, we talked and then... 

I turn around panicked feeling that she is not on the bed with me and I sit up trying to gain my mind, I am still a bit lost.

I smile like a child as I remember last night and sigh overwhelmed. 

She accepted me, she acked me to sleep with her, she wanted me, she fell asleep in my arms! I had never thought about all these before! 

It comes out that James was right, this was the best night of my life. The only one I needed was always her and now I feel completed. I had never thought about feeling like this, this is the woman of my life, I managed to find her and all these years that I was the biggest i***t in the world. 

Damn my arrogance!

Suddenly, the bathroom's door opens and Mira comes in the room wearing a light blue jeans and a white crop top. She looks beautiful, my heart is beating fast and I am sure I have a big silly smile on my face but it drops as my eyes meet hers... 

She walks to me with a blank expression without talking and stops about one meter away from me.

"Good morning love!" I say and raise my hand to touch her but she pulls away and sighs frustrated.

I blink my eyes confused and Phobos howls nervous in my head making me worse but Mira doesn't move, she just stands there staring at me in the eyes with no expression.

"Are you alright love? What is wrong?" I whisper worried.

"I am not your 'love' Holder, I am Mira! Get up and leave." She says casually and walks away towards her dresser.

"Excuse me?" I say defrosted.

"Are you deaf? Leave!" She says again and sits on the dresser's chair.

"What happened? Last night we..." I try to say and get up with shaking legs.

"Last night was a moment of weakness and it won't happen again."

"Mira what are you talking about? I thought that we..."

"No way in hell Liam! We are done. It was only one night." She explains and starts making her makeup like everything is perfect.

I walk to her totally naked and more scared as never before. The thought of losing her now is killing me, after last night I was sure that we made a new beginning.

"Mira, I love you. How are you saying that?" I whisper trembling.

"Yeah, yeah, you sure do love me! Now that I am an Alpha and not a useless and weak Beta of course you do. I am not ugly, silly and fat anymore, right? I am not a slut as you were calling me for seven months, I gave you two heirs even in your ignorance and everything now is perfectly fine..." She tells me ironically in a cold tone.

"Mira, I do love YOU! I was an asshole, I know, I am sorry! I can't live without you and our kids anymore. Last night we both felt it, our bond is here and you know it!" I scream panicked.

"I don't care about your opinion and your feelings Liam. I care only about my kids and me."

"OUR KIDS!" I scream taking one more step to her.

"You are not their father, you are just a sperm donor who left me pregnant after he raped me!" she says through her teeth and I feel my heart breaking into pieces.

What happened to her? I said I am sorry, I showed her my love, I...

"I am sorry! I was wrong and I..." I start doing my best not to cry.

"You stay away from me and my kids. That's all I want." he cuts me firmly.

"But I don't want to!" I shout desperate.

"I don't care at all."

"You are lying!" I scream breathless.

"We mated last night and you knew what would happen from the next day. Our bond is stronger, our pull is stronger! If we stay away from each other we will suffer! You are not capable of punishing us." I continue and run my hands through my messy hair.

"You don't know me at all Holder...I am capable of anything! I don't care about the pull or the bond." She tells me calmly.

"We are both suffering all these years and we will continue suffering if you insist on pushing me away." I reply trying to stop shaking.

"No, you are wrong! I was the one who suffered. You were having a great life with your sluts and I was rising MY KIDS alone! Believe me I don't suffer at all, not anymore. It's your own problem from now on."

"Mira what have you done to your old self? Where is the old sweet, innocent and caring Mira?" I whisper heartbroken with tears making their appearance on my eyes.

"What have I done? My new self is your creation! You killed the old, stupid Mira and created a monster, a ghost. The only heart I have left is beating only for my kids. Stop this cheap act and get lost..." She screams out of nowhere losing her self control in the end and gets up frustrated.

"You are lying!" I yell and walk more to her.

"If you want to believe I am lying go ahead, I don't care!" She says and pushes me away from her.

"Last night you were shaking from pleasure damn it! You were screaming my name, you were begging me and we became one! You felt what I felt! I don't believe you."

"It's your problem."

"I want you and my kids. We will tell them the truth!" I yell and try to walk to her again trying to pull her in my arms but she grabs me from the neck and pins me on the wall behind me.

"You are in no condition of telling me what to do and demanding anything from me. Keep distance from us or else I will kill you. Ex mate or not I don't f*****g care!" She screams shaking uncontrollably and her eyes turn black.

Why is she doing this? What is wrong with her?

"I love you, only you." I whisper once more heartbroken.

"And I hate you! Get lost now." She whispers and leaves me fall on the floor coughing.

She takes some steps back and I stand up with difficulty grabbing my trousers. My boxers and shirt are torn into pieces on the floor. 

Mira walks to the balcony door and stands there staring outside with her back facing me. 

She is breaking my heart, it's like she is killing me, her rejection hurts so much and now I realize how I made her feel that night. 

It is pointless to fight with her more now that she is so angry, she needs time and I have to respect it...

I walk to the door and turn to see her one more time but she is ignoring me completely. 

I unlock the door and open it slowly hoping she will change her mind and will ask me to stay and talk about it but... 

No, she keeps on staring outside like I do not exist.

"I am here for you and our kids. I won't stop fighting to get you back. I will gain your trust again, I promise I will never stop believing in us! I love you..." I whisper with my voice cracking in the end and get out quickly heading to my room with tears falling like rivers from my eyes.

I reach my room with my legs shaking, my heart breaking from pain and my head killing me. 

What have I done? 

I destroyed her, I... 

Shit!

I get in my room like a storm and gasp shocked once my eyes land on him and I realize that he is here...

 He... 

What the hell is he doing here?

"Ryan?" I exclaim surprised but he doesn't move an inch.

He is sitting on the couch and seems to be deep in thoughts. The moment his eyes meet mine he raises his eyebrows and points the door calmly.

"Close and lock the door Holder. We need to talk." He orders serious and I do what he said confused, I can't protest, I don't know why but I can't.

I walk to him slowly after I lock the door with my head lowered ashamed. 

I am stil crying, Mira's scent is all over me and I am almost naked. 

He surely knows what happened between as after we left the dining room last night, Mira is still his daughter and I am sure he is mad at me. 

I sit next to him without talking and look at the door opposite of me lost, I don't know what to say or do!

"She kicked you out, didn't she?" He asks me without really waiting for my response, he is not really asking me, he just arrives at a conclusion.

"We slept together last night. We were fine when we fell asleep. When I woke up she was a whole different person." I explain in pain.

"Look Liam, I am here to warn you and..."

"I don't want to hurt her Ryan. You don't have to warn me." I interrupt him frustrated.

"Let me finish boy! Be patient." He groans annoyed.

"I came here to give you some advise." He says and I turn and stare at him with a widely open mouth.

He what?!

"You? Why? I thought you hate me!" I ask confused yet shocked.

"I did but I changed my mind the day we saw Mira again." he replies shortly.

"What changed?"

"You! And her... And you are not alone anymore, you have kids together."

"Really? I mean why would you try to help me Ryan?"

"Because I saw her face Liam, she is broken. I may not be her biological father but this girl is my life. I rised her like my own for 18 years, I know her better than anyone else. Last night she was broken." He explains with pain in his voice and I sigh heavily.

"And why do you want to help me? I am the one that caused her so much pain all these years."

"Because you broke her and you are the only one who can fix her and make her happy again. I know you still feel your bond, this is rare and it means something."

"What?"

"That you are meant to be together." and he gives me a forced smile.

"Do you really believe it?" I ask with tears unable to believe it.

"Yes! Look Liam... I had problems with Zoey too. When I learned that she was pregnant from someone else I got mad. I wanted to reject her and leave away but then I realized I couldn't. She became my whole life from the first time I saw her, staying away from her for some days made me realize how much I love her. She have made a mistake while being drunk and she was sorry. I accepted her and her baby and I promised I would rise that child like my own. When I touched her belly and Mira kicked for the first time that was it, I fell in love with the little creature inside Zoey as well. When I held her after she was born I felt the bond, it was like she was my own daughter and I promised to myself I would never let her be hurt but I failed and I won't allow it again. I want my daughter and grandchildren happy and only you can make it even if no one likes it." He tells me obviously emotional.

"Ryan, she hates me..." I whisper trembling disappointed.

"And you believe her?" he asks me surpised and I sigh ready to cry.

He taps my knee with his hand and laughs lightly and I turn and look at him confused.

Why is he laughing now?

"Son, love is separated from hatred with a fine line. Look at you for example, you were repeating all these years that you hate her and it took you only one second to realize that you love her." He explains calmly smiling.

"You mean that she loves me? After what I have done?"

"Yes, she loves you even if she is denying it."

"She doesn't Ryan, she has changed, she is not the same woman anymore. She is strong and difficult to keep up." I say and he laughs loudly this time and then coughs.

"Ryan, it is not funny. I lost her." I say in frustration.

"Okay, sorry. You don't know her at all Liam. Mira was always strong and a difficult woman just like her mother. You thought she was weak but she never was. I think her only weakness was you, she was patient and she wasn't reacting because she loved you a lot, this shows how strong she was."

"I am not her weakness anymore."

"Wrong. You are not her only weakness anymore. She has your kids now, her first priority is them and you are the second." he replies calmly.

"She kicked me out Ryan, last night we... And today she was so cold and distant!" I murmur ashamed.

"Okay, I don't want details about what you did with my daughter. You are adults, you are still mates, you want each other, the pull is strong but don't tell me what you did because I can imagine and I don't feel comfortable with it. So back to our topic... She wants you, she is just fighting with herself. Her heart wants you but her mind can't trust you. She knows it's just a matter of time before she accepts you and she wants to make it difficult to you. She needs to be sure about you, she won't bear it again if you hurt her and she has Ethan and Angel now." he says and smirks with my expression.

I stare at him speechless! 

He is unbelievable and a such a wise man! 

I had never thought about talking with anyone like this before, my father was always distant and I never felt so comfortable with James' parents even if I consider them as my parents.

"What am I going to do then Ryan?"

"I will tell you. I will help you but be careful. If Zoey and Jacob find it out we are both dead. Also, I know that April agrees with me, we talked, her Luan's instinct says that you deserve one last chance and Lily, Cassie and James are helping you from last night so you are very lucky."

"I won't tell a thing Ryan, I promise I will be discreet." I assure him desperate and he laughs again from my behavior.

I guess I am acting like a puppy but I can't so otherwise!

"Mira is going to push you away from her, that's the only thing for sure. She will try to ignore you. And also I know you are jealous of Cooper, so be prepared and try to stay calm if he makes a move. The secret is to stay close to her but not too much." he states and I narrow my eyes confused.

"What do you mean?"

"When she gets mad with you because believe me she will, let her stay alone for a while and after this try to get close to her. The key is to extinguish her anger with something else... You know what I mean, s****l connection. You are her mate and even if she is mad at you she won't resist you for long but be kind with her, respect her. The more you connect with her the more her anger will decrease and she will accept you more easily. Show her your affection and interest but don't run behind her like a lost puppy, be a strong, indepented man. Am I clear?"

"You are a genius Ryan. You are scaring me. How did you think about all of these?"

"I know my daughter and my mate, remember? So do you understand what you have to do?" he asks smirking and I nod in excitement!

"Yes. I will do my best!"

"You better do... Your relationship with Ethan and Angel will help you get closer to them as well. Mira will think about telling them about you."

"Thank you Ryan! It means everything to me!" I exclaim ready to hug him but he raises his hand and I freeze.

"Don't rush so much! One last thing... Hurt her or my grandchildren again and I will kill you! I am helping you because I want her happy and she loves you. I see you are different but I haven't forgotten about what you did. One wrong move and you are dead." He says through his teeth with his eyes darker than before and I nod quickly.

There is no way I am hurting her again! NO WAY!

"Good... If you need anything tell me or the others. I talked with them as well." He says and gets up.

I get up right after him and stop him before he walks away and he stops and turns to me confused. I smile relieved and hug him before he reacts and he laughs again tapping my back, I am acting like a child I know but I am happy. Ryan's help means everything to me, I still have hope.

"Take care of them son. I consider you as my future son in law. You are lucky you have them, you found them Liam, make them your priority. They need you."

"But I need them more than they need me Ryan. I am lost without them."

"Good. I have to go now. We'll talk. Good luck and stay strong!" he says and then gets out of my room leaving me alone.

I sigh, walk to the bed and jump on it relieved. 

Ryan's words gave me strength, I am not alone and Mira loves me, she loves me very much even if she is still afraid of trusting me. It may makes my heart hurt feeling she is in so much pain because of me but I can change this!

"She is doing what you were doing all these years. You have some things  in common Liam. You know all the answers you need now." Phobos whispers nervously and I stiffen worried.

"Are you okay man?" I ask him immediately. 

Last night he was happy and left me live the whole night with Mira peacefully. He enjoyed it as much as I did but today he is silent and now I am sure he is hurt!

"I am. Just a bit sad about Mira. Moira and I communicated last night. She knew that Mira would change her mind in the morning."

"Is Moira alright?"

"Yes, she was mad at you but she is not anymore, she liked your way last night. You made me proud for once by taking care of mate so much. You are in a good way Liam, don't ruin it again."

"I won't, I promise you. I will never hurt her again!" I assure him with confidence and he groans in agreement.

"Good! Now get ready and go downstairs. I want our mate and our pups." He states and I nod happy.

Yes! He is right and I am done being an asshole! I love her and she needs to get sure about me, I won't step back again so...

Let the show begin!

Hello for the third and last time for today guys!

This is the 8th chapter and as I told you Mira 'woke up' suddenly breaking Liam's heart!

What do you think? She pushed him away for good and he was caught off guard! But Ryan was by far the biggest surprise!

What is going to happen next now? What is Liam going to do? How about Mira? Are they going to get close again and how?
