Seven: Roommate

Roommate Seven: Elijah I feel my face is on fire as I scoop my underwear off the floor and put it in the top drawer of my dresser. “Wait a minute. I know who that is.” The feather light female voice says. Turning to look at her, I see her step forward pointing at me. “You’re Elijah Granger, aren’t you?” I gulp as I look at the other two as they stop laughing and are now staring at me. “No, it can’t be. The next Alpha King would have his own apartment. He wouldn’t be put in a dorm room.” The a*shole that called me a ‘Twink’ says. I sigh as I ignore them and keep unpacking my bag. I hear them argue as I shake my head. As they still are debating on who I am when I feel a heavy hand land on my shoulder. I flinch back as I step away, his hand falling off of me. I look up at him as he gives me a hesitant smile. “Don’t worry about them, they’re not right in the head. I think I gave them brain damage in our early childhood.” I chuckle as he offers his hand. “Hi, I’m Leo Darkheart. The next Alpha of the Dark Heart Pack in Minnesota and these fools are my Beta Chad and Gamma Char.” I look over at the two who are now standing like statues. Char’s hands up as if she is still arguing with Chad. Chad looking over here with his mouth wide open. Snickering as it was quite comical. I shake Leo’s hand in response. “Hi, I’m Elijah Granger the replacement.” I say not really thinking as I say it. It is just how I feel. “Replacement, huh?” Scratch the back of my neck after letting his hand go. “Ummm…. yeah.” I say as he chuckles. “Man Leo, I’m starving. Let go get some grub.” “Yeah, sure.” Leo says, turning to look at his Beta. I let out a sigh as they make their way to the door. Before Leo gets out, he turns back to me. “Hey Elijah, come with us. I will show you where the cafeteria is.” I give him a frown. “You, sure, I don’t want to make your friends feel uncomfortable. You know being seen with a ‘twink’….” I say staring at him I can feel the anger building up inside of me. “Aw, man don’t listen to that knuckle head. He doesn’t mean anything by it. That just his vocabulary.” I shrug my shoulders. “Okay but only if he never calls me that again. That’s just hurtful.” I say, as Leo hums. “You got it.” He gives me a smile. “Come on let go.” I nod my head and follow him out the door just to see Leo and Char arguing again. I chuckle, maybe it won’t be so bad here. I guess I will just have to wait and see. *** As we reach the cafeteria, I notice how all the females are staring at Leo as he walks by. I chuckle to myself at how obvious they are being. What really gets me is that Leo doesn’t even notice it. “Hey Leo?” He glances at me as we are in line. “What’s up?” I chuckle once more as he grins while taking huge amounts of food. “What’s it like to go through your first shift?” I ask quietly as I can for him to hear but not for the whole cafeteria to know what we are talking about. I’m grabbing a tuna salad as I turn to move forward to find Leo standing there staring at me with a weird look on his face. I nudge him with my elbow and his eyes refocus on me. He clears his throat as we reach the cashier. Surprisingly he pays for both of us and looks at me. “Come on.” I nod my head gulping. Did I say it wrong? Does he find me weird now? I have my head bowed watching his feet as he walks in front of me. I feel so self-conscious as I’m the smallest person here. Even the she-wolves tower over me. Goddess, please let me come into my own after my shift, I plead inside my head. When Leo stops in front of me, I look up and freeze as I see a female on Chad’s lap, French kissing him while his hand is up her shirt playing her boob. I have never seen such a display of PDA in my whole life. I hear laughter as I look at Char. “Sit down new boy and stop staring.” I gulp sitting down across from the two that look like their about to have s*x right in front of me. I feel my face blush as I look down into my plate. “Time to go babe.” I hear Chad say as I glance up and see her scowling at me. “Who the hell is this tw*t and why does he get to stay while I have to leave?” I lower my gaze back to my plate but am very surprised to hear Chad say. “Excuse me.” There is anger in his voice; I look up and see him glaring at the she-wolf. “Who the f*ck are you to question my friends. Get the f*ck out of here and don’t come back!” My jaw hits the table as I watch her storm off. Did he just stick up for me? The guy that called me a ‘twink’.
