“Lutaum Vurasnug!
“Mirdautas vras!”
The cries of the orcs rang through the battlefield as they clashed with the humans. They roared madly with laughter and cut down the humans in their way.
“Keep the formation! Push back these brutes!”
“Mages! Archers!”
“Fight!”
“Agghhh!!!”
The humans weren’t pushovers either. They held steady and pushed back the orcs. If one of them tried to slip into their guard, the humans would quickly open up a way before closing up the hole and rallied together to quickly kill the orc before going back to supporting their vanguards.
“Weak humans! Kill!”
“Kill!”
“Nar Udautas! Kill!”
“Urahahaha!”
When the battle between the orcs and the humans had reached a tipping point. Spells from both sides flew towards the other and they devastated the frontlines.
The stronger orcs had a high resistance to magical attacks so they moved forward to tank the spells before trying to create a hole in the humans’ defenses by tackling the vanguards with their large bodies.
For a moment, the orcs were able to breach a few meters into the humans’ frontlines before they were promptly dealt with. A majority of the forces the orcs were facing right now were from the church so they were much more powerful than the average soldiers and they received healing from the clerics behind them.
However, despite receiving support from various mages and clerics, the humans’ frontlines were beginning to falter because not all of them were capable like the church’s paladins.
A few captains tried to rally their soldiers’ morale but the frightening orcs continued to chip away at their forces without letting up.
One paladin rushed forward from behind the humans’ shield formation and began hacking down orcs left and right. He raised his sword high into the air and chanted, “The Lord will judge you, filthy creatures! Claìomh Solais!”
A large concentration of light elemental mana gathered around the paladin’s sword and he swung it down. A compressed beam of energy was ejected from the sword and it crashed against the orc warriors, evaporating many of them into particles of ash and light.
This paladin was one of the few Holy Knights that the church had dispatched in this campaign against the dwarves. This particular Holy Knight was named Sammael Anqui’or.
The ranks of the church’s warriors started from a typical Paladin. Above that was a Crusader and finally, a Holy Knight. His status was basically on par with an ArchBishop, just below that of the church’s Pope.
To have an ArchBishop level warrior participate in this war, it was quite apparent that the church placed some importance on the dwarves’ royal family. No one, however, could figure out the true objective as to why the church wanted or needed the dwarven royal family.
Sammael didn’t look particularly exhausted or spent after using his technique. He raised his swords once more and roared, “Brothers! On me!”
The warriors behind him roared and began moving forward. Despite how fearless the orcs were known to be, they couldn’t help but falter at the fighting spirit the humans were displaying.
Their confidence and unbreakable courage had also taken a hit when Sammael had descended earlier and literally erased their fellow comrades.
“Cowards! No backdown! Fight or die! Nark ut vras! Kuvtirak monak!”
A large red orc stepped out from the large horde of orcs as he roared aloud. He was hefting a large iron hammer over his shoulder. The aura this orc was radiating rivaled that of Holy Knight Sammael.
The orc gave a loud roar before it suddenly jumped into the air. The orcs trajectory was towards the Holy Knight himself and Sammael raised his shield to block the hammer that was approaching him.
Just before the orc’s hammer hit Sammael’s shield, it suddenly lit up with a fiery light and exploded upon striking Sammael’s shield. A large shockwave ensued and it blasted away the humans that were caught in its area of effect.
Seeing the devastation that ensued, Sammael roared angrily and began attacking the red orc.
“Fall, you evil creature!”
“Bwahahahaha! Finally, a worthy opponent for Kur’thash!”
From high up in the air, Julius looked down and witnessed the fight between these two champions. His system’s scan didn’t go wrong and it clearly indicated that these two were similar to his fiends’ hero units.
They had power far above the average people as if they had unique blessings from nature. Julius was unsure as to how these people naturally gained such power. As far as he could remember, there were a few powerful people back in his Empire just like these two.
The Grand Marshal of his former Empire’s forces, Maximillian, the court wizard, the empire’s guardian beast, and a few others.
These people lived like they were on a higher plane of existence than the rest of the masses. Using techniques and skills that could wipe out throngs of people and possessing inhuman strength and abilities.
The two warriors below fought a grand battle that attracted the attention of every soldier on the battlefield. Even Julius couldn’t help but pause his actions and take a look at the epic battle unfolding beneath him.
The Crimson Orc Kur’thash swung his weapon wildly at Holy Knight Sammael. He was clearly an advocate of the best defense is the best offense. He hadn’t once stopped attacking and continued to put Sammael on the back foot.
Sammael didn’t mind this because he was slowly luring away the brutish orc away from the battlefield. If they continued to fight there, the collateral casualties that would happen because they threw around their skills and techniques would be enormous.
It clearly didn’t matter to Kur’thash who seemed to be in a frenzy but Sammael treated his soldiers like they were his brothers and sisters. When he saw them perishing just from the fall out of their battle, he purposefully had put himself on the backfoot throughout the entire battle and goaded the orc on to attack him.
Julius thought that it was a noble thing to do...if not for the fact that this was the perfect opportunity for his fiends to attack. He smiled deviously and ordered his fiends to make their moves.
Horrifying screeches and shrieks rang through the battlefield as pale and faceless humanoids began burrowing out of the ground followed by large human-like creatures with weapons for their arms suddenly dashed down towards the battlefield from every direction.
They came jumping down from the cliffs of the mountains, broke through the forest treelines, and even from the sky. Naturally, the ones from the sky were the new type of unit that Julius was able to create, Sky Fiends. There were still a few more new units he could create but those took up a few days to spawn so they still weren’t available right at this moment.
Julius watched on from the skies as his fiends emerged from their hiding spots and clashed with the humans and the orcs.
From afar, Eisha, Aria, and Proto quickly saw what was happening after they received a report from Brunhilda that there were creatures similar to their fiends currently attacking the humans.
Julius forgot to inform his wife and subordinates that he was finally here. The thought had slipped his mind since he saw such a wonderfully amusing situation happen between the humans and orcs.
When Eisha looked through the magiscope and saw that the creatures that were attacking the humans and orcs were fiends, she quickly searched the skies and soon found Julius hovering above the battlefield in his new form.
“It’s Eisha’s husband!”
Brunhilda was rather puzzled when Eisha said this. Wasn’t her husband standing right behind her?
“Aria, Proto, let’s go! We have to go and join the fight now!”
