Julius dashed straight at the ArchBishop with his fist aiming straight for the man’s face. Just before the hit connected, Torres’s body suddenly flashed with a bright light and he teleported a few meters away.
Julius slammed his fist into the ground and pulled up the earth and sent it flying straight for the clergyman.
The system was constantly making calculations that his split minds were processing as quickly as they could so Julius could predict what the man was going to do next. He pressed the attack by sending numerous wind arrows at Torres and the ArchBishop responded with a light elemental shield before chanting a few light magic spells and sending them at Julius.
When the light arrows and other magic spells flew at Julius, he quickly took to the skies to dodge them. The spells followed after Julius and he quickly began dodging them as best he could.
The system’s calculations helped him dodge the spells with precise accuracy. ArchBishop Torres quickly took note of this so he exploded his spells when they got within proximity of him.
A few spells exploded in his face but Julius quickly shielded his body with his wings. From the smoke of the explosions, he plummeted down to the ground and darted towards his enemy.
Torres quickly erected a shield in front of him but suddenly, he dashed towards the side hastily.
“...You have quite the reaction speed for an old tool…” Julius said as he flicked the blood from his claws onto the ground.
Torres appeared a few meters away, his arm bleeding and dangling from his shoulders. Julius had nearly ripped it off with his attack from earlier. He had quickly created a blood clone from his slight injuries earlier and used that as a decoy while he stayed in midair and took the chance to attack Torres when the ArchBishop had finished erecting his shield and had his attention focused on his clone.
The ArchBishop noticed it just as the smoke cleared away from the blood clone’s body and was fortunate enough to dodge away before Julius took the man’s head off.
ArchBishop Torres only frowned when he felt the pain coming from his arm so he quickly healed it. The arm was healed and Julius only smirked.
“You can heal yourself, but let’s see how long your stamina will last and how much pain you can tolerate before I break you in two…”
Julius grinned evilly before he flashed towards Torres and resumed his attack.
Not too far away from him, Julius’s blood clone was currently engaged in a melee with Holy Knight Sammael. Sammael wasn’t in optimal condition right now. Although he had been thoroughly healed, the stamina he lost and the trauma his body experienced wasn’t going to go away by using a healing spell.
He was struggling just to deal with Julius’s blood clone who attacked in a reckless manner. The blood clone traded injuries and attacks with the Holy Knight because it was sustaining itself with [Weave] and [Cause and Effect].
All the injuries and loss of stamina he experienced, the blood clone would make it so that it was like they didn’t happen. Whenever Sammael was able to successfully cut off the blood clone’s appendages or head, the skills would activate and the blood clone would just continue attacking Sammael who hastily tried defending himself.
“What is this?!”
“...”
The blood clone only responded with an attack rather than answering his question. A quick whip of the clone’s wings caused a large gash to appear on the Holy Knight’s shield while another swing of the clone’s claws broke through the man’s defense which was followed up with a few attacks connecting to the man’s wide-open chest.
Sammael activated the skill [Light Blade] and quickly repelled the blood clone before healing himself with a spell. He let out an exhausted breath as his stamina was greatly depleted and fatigue was kicking in from his lack of mana.
He raised his arms and readied his weapon. Sammael was relying on his strong spirit and his unwillingness to give up. If not, he would have long since fainted and stopped moving.
“Demon...you will not defeat me…Uraahhhh!!!”
The holy knight raised a shout and a holy aura burst out from his body before he charged at Julius’s blood clone. The blood clone responded by stomping on the earth and throwing the rubble at the holy knight who was charging at it.
Sammael smashed away the pieces of earth flying at him with his shield or dodged away. Fighting a battle of attrition in his state wasn’t going to end well for him so he decided to confront the clone in a head-on battle.
It was just a technique from the pale devil and he felt insulted that it had completely disregarded him and only sent a clone to attack him.
Unfortunately for Sammael, his current condition wasn’t his best since he just went through 2 major battles before this. He fought with Chaos Orc Kur’thash before Julius popped in and nearly killed him with his [Unholy].
Sammael now had to deal with a nearly unkillable clone of Julius that had at the very least 95 percent of his physical prowess and abilities. The only saving grace of his situation was that the clone couldn’t use all of Julius’s abilities or else he would have been made helpless right from the get-go since his condition wasn’t good.
They planned to back off from this fight but Julius was adamant about keeping them here. He could have just prevented these 3 humans from helping their armies but he wanted to kill them all as well.
Of course, it was probably only the Mountain King who didn’t share Julius’s view of wanting to kill all of the human champions present. It could be seen in his lack of enthusiasm when fighting the Auxpex Kingdom’s Queen Yvette.
“Queen Yvette, we still had good relations before so I’m reluctant in fighting you. Blame the fools in your race that you had to come here and be involved in this―”
“Unjustifiable farce?”
“...Hmmm.”
“Although we wouldn’t be in this situation if not for the fools who pushed you away from the alliance, as a queen, you know that I couldn’t sit around on the sidelines…”
“Yes, but with my newfound allies…” Mountain King Sithaeth turned to look at Julius and his blood clone duking it out with the people from the church and shrugged. “Well, it seems that they have an even bigger bone to pick than me! Bwahahaha!”
“Even though your daughter was supposedly assassinated by their people?”
“Hmm, but as you can see, she’s fine and well now.”
“Then why did you turn your back on the humans and the alliance? We wouldn’t be here, fighting amongst ourselves if―”
Sithaeth threw his hammer at Queen Yvette who promptly blocked it with her great sword.
“Although my daughter is fine, I won’t forgive what you humans put my family through.”
“...”
“I know you, Yvette, of all people, aren’t like those scum bastards from the church and those other kingdoms but unfortunately, you’re on their side,” Sithaeth didn’t wait for her response and readied his weapons. “Now, get ready. I won’t show mercy but at the very least, I won’t kill you.”
“Must we fight?”
“I have to uphold my end of the deal with the fiends. King Julius apparently hates you humans for something some of you did to his race, especially the church, as you can see.”
Sithaeth pointed with his ax at the intense and destructive battle between Julius and the ArchBishop. With his new upgrade, Julius’s 2 skills, [Weave] and [Cause and Effect], had entered the stage where it was combining to form [Reverse Causality], the ‘cheat’ skill he was aiming for since he spawned Arianrhod.
In this battle with the ArchBishop, he was polishing these two techniques and forcing them to combine. He only needed to push the system a little bit to help him combine the techniques.
He only needed to repeatedly use the two skills so the system could collect more data and find a way to combine them. It was why Julius was fighting so recklessly against the ArchBishop and trading injuries with him.
These two matched up pretty well because Julius’s skill made it so that he could fight without rest. At least, until his soul couldn’t take it anymore and he was forced to stop fighting and using the technique.
The ArchBishop had a large mana pool and was continuously using healing magic to keep up with Julius’s skill that made him undying. However, his mana was finite and he was slowing down his pace.
Slowly, he was being pushed back by Julius and if this continued, he would fall soon enough.
“...You allied yourselves with a devil after turning your back on us?” Queen Yvette said with a hint of dismay in her voice.
“Devil? Well, in my eyes, you humans are the devils since that kind gentleman sent his subordinates over to save my daughter from the clutches of death you humans put her into.”
“...”
“What’s done is done and there’s nothing you can do to rectify the current situation.”
“Fine, but why are you doing business with the dark alliance?”
“The dark alliance? Well, they’ve been long-time customers. Also, it’s not like I’ve stopped all my dealings with you, light alliance members. The beastmen, fairies, and elves are still my allies. You can just buy my goods from them, but instead...here you are...attacking us…”
“I told you that I didn’t have a choice!”
Sithaeth was getting a little annoyed conversing with Yvette. Julius was currently fighting while he was just talking with a self-righteous woman who seemed to be ignoring the fact that her race of people had killed his daughter and yet here she was, asking why they needed to fight after they were the ones that came here on their own accord to attack his people.
With everything that had happened to them, it should have been the dwarves that came out to seek war against the humans, not the other way around. This was getting on his nerves since Queen Yvette seemed to only be asking this because now, her side was on the losing end.
“Enough talking, let’s get to fightin’!”
“I have no intention of fighting with you, Mountain King. I’d rather hold a conversation to repair our broken relations!”
“You can keep your self-righteous babble to yourself!”
Sithaeth raised his hammer and a dark cloud quickly formed in the air above him before a bolt of lightning struck down onto his hammer. He then swung it down, causing the bolt of lightning to fly towards Yvette.
The woman quickly jumped to the side and avoided the attack. If it was any normal person, that bolt of lightning would have definitely struck and killed them on the spot.
Yvette rolled on the ground and quickly jumped to her feet before dashing towards Sithaeth and swinging her flame-wrapped greatsword down in his direction. A wave of fire was ejected from the sword and it shot towards Sithaeth.
The Mountain King didn’t move from his spot and just stomped on the ground, sending out a large shockwave that negated Yvette’s attack.
“It’s time I pull my weight in this battle. I’m sorry Queen Yvette, but with the fiends here, your human army is bound to fall―and as cruel as it sounds―until the very last man.”
“You’re sounding no different than those from the dark alliance!”
Sithaeth responded by throwing his ax at the woman and sending a few more thunderbolts at her. Queen Yvette dodged every single one of the attacks but Sithaeth wasn’t sending his attacks out randomly.
The bolts of lightning he fired at Yvette had remained in place and now, 8 pillars of lightning were surrounding the two.
“Thundergod’s Wrath!”
“You crazy dwarf!”
