This was the first time Julius ever saw this. It was a status screen that didn’t belong to him.

Julius was rather perplexed as he compared his status screen with Eisha. No matter how he looked at it...Eisha had higher stats than him. His status screen from yesterday had also been updated since it had more details than before.

Eisha had a few skills while he only had one but its rank was much higher than Eisha’s skills. The previous human next to his original race had been replaced with just Fiend now.

He didn’t understand why it did this but at the very least, Julius knew he wasn’t human anymore.

While Julius was thinking, two slim arms wrapped themselves around him from behind. He then felt a weight on his back as two soft cushions began pushing against his shoulders.

Julius smiled and looked to his left to see the beautiful face of a woman who was also smiling back at him.

“Good morning, Eisha.”

“Good morning, Julius.”

The two greeted each other and Julius took the initiative to kiss her. Eisha happily giggled and returned it. It was only meant to be a short one, but Eisha’s hands began exploring Julius’s body and it ignited his passion.

Eisha’s hand moved down as it reached for his erect member, but Julius stopped her.

“Eisha, we should do this later…”

“But aren’t you already ready Prince? Besides, don’t we have to wait until nightfall to hunt those monsters?”

Just by peeking her head out and looking around, Eisha could see the situation inside the cave.

She finally noticed that the cave was bustling a bit with activity as the 2 recovering homunculi stepped out of their hatcheries and the newly spawned homunculi moved around the place. 

The cave had changed overnight as the walls, pillars, and the ceiling had thoroughly been infested with Fiend’s Plasm. The plasm was growing everywhere and changing the terrain. The beating red vessels that were visible on the surface exuded some kind of gas from their pores.

It didn’t affect them negatively. Instead, the gas strengthened them. It was currently trapped inside the cave so it had spread everywhere. Julius didn’t hesitate to inhale it as it was just the Fiend’s unique energy which was concentrated enough to be visible.

Julius opened the fleshwall and let the light in. The gas escaped the cave and began flowing outside, clearing up the cave a little bit. He ordered the homunculi to go around scouting the area and if they found any, bring back a few resources. 

Plants and animals were also on that list since the system said that they could be changed by the gas exuded by the plasm-infested lands. Once changed, the plants and animals would be better suited as food for the fiends.

It was going to be hard to acquire anything in this vast barren land, but it was worth a try. If they couldn’t find anything, it would be hard for Julius to expand his forces since he needed a lot of resources for that.

It wasn’t just about finding resources, but he also needed to find the way out of the Shifting Hallows. There was just no way for him to effectively build his power here in a barren wasteland that had so few resources.

Once the homunculi were out and Julius was left alone with Eisha, he pulled back the woman who was blatantly showing her plump ass and said, “Now that they’re gone… shall we continue?”

Eisha’s eyes brightened as she smiled at his words. Julius leaned back on one of the Fiend’s Cradle walls and waited for her to come over. Eisha smiled seductively as she crawled to him on all fours.

Julius had recalled his clone homunculus, Number 01, back to him so he wasn’t alone on his journey out of the cave. The minimap had been largely updated as a bigger area had been mapped out in detail since yesterday. 

“It’s a bit far away, but at least we found the exit to this place. I’m not sure if we should move or not, but for now, let’s just take a look at what’s outside the Shifting Hallows.”

Julius began walking in the direction of where his homunculi had discovered a change in the terrain. It was a clear marker that showed it was an area outside of the hallows since grass and trees were growing there.

It took a while for him to get there. 3 faceless homunculi greeted him. He decided to rename his clone homunculus to Proto since it had a face similar to his and calling him number 1 felt odd.

Technically, Proto could even be considered himself since it was created by his blood and flesh. He tried controlling Proto and to his surprise, the connection he had with Proto was stronger than any of the other homunculi.

If he concentrated hard enough, Julius could see through Proto’s eyes and even control the homunculus’s every action.

It was weird but it wasn’t uncomfortable. The sensation of him controlling Proto wasn’t any different from controlling his body and he could form a two-way connection as well so that he could remotely control Proto without actually being inside its mind.

“You three, head in and tread carefully. If there are any monsters, don’t engage and wait for us.”

Julius sent the 3 faceless homunculi to scout the forest that laid ahead. The only forest in his life that Julius had seen was the Forbidden Magical Beast Forest that was behind his Empire’s castle.

Their family was tasked with not only managing the Empire but also keeping the monsters within the forest in check. He remembered his lessons back when he was still learning.

It held an abundance of high-ranked creatures, plants, and resources. It was also very dangerous since all the creatures inside were high-ranked. That forest was the main reason why the Empire was able to become what it was today. They hunted the monsters inside periodically which provided them numerous high-quality mana stones and high-ranked monster materials.

Naturally, Julius didn’t think that this forest would be exactly like that forest, but it was always better to err on the side of caution.
