"It's just a dream, you're safe now. Open your eyes Aurora, you're safe now," I heard Steph's voice as I startled awake with a start.
I was sweating profusely, breathing heavily and I could feel a headache coming but despite that, my hands reached down to my belly as she continued to pat my back.
"Are you up? You were crying and fighting in your sleep, that had to be one hell of a nightmare," Stephanie sounded worried as she handed me a glass of water which I took gratefully.
"Thank you," I said as I tried to steady my breathing.
