~Asher's POV~
I was spending my time nicely here when I heard my sister's giggles from a good distance and my brows furrowed, what is she doing here?
"I can smell the skin burns from the entrance brother," she laughed.
I let Joseph's beta's leg burn and walked out of his cell. Ann winked at me while lifting a small bottle in her hand and swirling her fingers in the air, she mixed the liquid in the bottle with water and splashed it on his burns.
"What did you do?" Joseph's beta screamed at the top of his lungs.
"There is a reason why Blacks are known as the best torturers."
She smiled while I shook my head with a smirk on my face, it was wolfsbane that she threw on him. Nothing other than wolfsbane would have made the injuries and pain worse.
I wiped my hands with a wet towel and took her out of the dungeon. Even though she used to visit the dungeon a lot earlier and give people the worst time of their life, I still don't want filthy eyes to land on her.
"I thought you will be with Alec and the girl from your clan, she needs your comfort more than anyone," I said stepping out of the dungeon.
"I was spending time with Sophia and her family but then she wanted to be alone for some time, you know how hard all of this is for her. I talked to her and she told me she rejected her sick mate before you gave him the burning sensations all over his body. I'm glad you made her reject him before that otherwise, that poor girl would have endured a lot of pain." She sighed.
"She already suffered a lot... By the way, how is she doing? And what did you do to HIM?" I asked with a smirk on my face.
She smirked and told me while Alec took care of his upper body, she gave him cuts with sharp ice on his lower body and then froze his lower body in wolfsbane.
I chuckled, my sister look cute and sweet with her amazing facial features and dimpled smile but little did our enemy know that she is far away from cute and sweet. She is the silence before the storm who is not easy to tackle.
"Alone?" I asked moving my eyes everywhere in the living room.
"Yup. I want to talk to my brother instead of my kid's uncle. You know talking to you with my kids around is just not possible," she smiled.
Well... I agree. When I am with Adelina and Aaron, I can't help but give my all attention to them which is why it's been a long time since Ann and I had a peaceful conversation.
"So..."
I trailed off. I know she came here to discuss something important, otherwise, she wouldn't have left her kids back home when Alec is busy handling pack disputes.
Her eyes lit up with excitement and I saw a happy smile on my sister's face. She placed her hand on mine while pouting a little and said, "I know it was difficult for you but, brother, you made the right choice. Archer and Ian told me that you are ready to take on the duties which were on hold for a long time. I am so happy that you are finally ready to take on your duties as a king. You know so many people including Mom and Dad are looking forward to it."
I shook my head and smiled, as always, the twins weren't able to hold their excitement. I guess they already spread this news everywhere.
"Did you tell Mom and Dad?" I asked.
"Nope. And told Archer and Ian not to tell anyone. It should be Mom and Dad announcing it to everyone." She smiled.
"Don't even want me to know?"
We moved our heads to our right and saw Grandpa descending the stairs. He kissed Ann's head and patted my shoulder, "This is for the best Ash. Maybe your mate is also waiting for you to take on things that you have been ignoring for a long time. Maybe she will walk into your life after you take all your responsibilities."
I nodded my head, I wish whatever Grandpa said will turns out to be true. Every day without my mate feels like my time with my mate on this earth is decreasing. It's just... Unbearable.
"Prince, we are all set to leave for Night Moon pack," Ian said.
"Come back soon, I have so many things to talk about. I will be waiting for you," Ann said and nodding, I left with Ian and Evan to night moon pack.
********************
"I hope I made everything clear and won't hear anything bad happening to anyone," I said with a quirked brow at which the Night Moon beta shivered from head to toe with a gulp going down his throat while Marie smiled.
"Everything will be as it was Prince. And I will also stay in touch with Marie, she deserves to know everything about her home," the beta bowed to me.
I nodded to him and declared him the alpha of the Night Moon Pack. By the smile on everyone's faces, I can tell that my decision was right and they are happy with everything coming back to normal.
Well... Not everything. The alpha of the pack is still bedridden but at least his daughter is out of the monster's clutches which makes the people happy.
We walked out of the packhouse and I smiled looking at the clouds covering the sky, it was evening but still, the effect of the full moon has started coming to the surface.
I told Ian and the others to leave in the car and Evan smirked at me, he knows why I sent everyone to the pack without us.
We smirked at each other and without giving any warning to anyone, we both shifted into our lycans and howled while looking at the moon coming into our view.
Everyone gulped seeing the sudden shift of energy in us and the environment and I could sense fear in them without even trying.
"Wow... That's amazing..."
"Look at those red highlights..."
Whisperes and murmurs came for the huge black and grey lycan and we proudly showed off our lycans. Yeah... We love showing off our lycans because the blood moon clan is the only clan which has lycans that too six lycans and now one of us is a part of the red river clan.
Giving one last warning howl to the new young alpha, Evan and I sprinted deeper into the forest.
We ran carelessly into the forest and our lycans kept howling in between. I sat in the back of Kai's mind and enjoyed the feel of fresh air brushing my fur. The feel of cold air with twigs snapping under my big paws was so amazing that I couldn't help but curse myself for not going on the run often. It's been months since I last let my lycan out and now I realise how much I missed it in the past few months.
We took longer than usual to return to our pack and smiled while standing under the open field soaking all the positive energy of the full moon.
Full moon nights are always amazing and powerful but since I am staying in the city, I can't let my lycan out and dash out to wherever I want. After feeling the shift of power and cooling sensations in me today, I guess I will be coming back home every full moon night to let myself and my lycan free.
A powerful growl reached my ears and my head snapped to my left. I saw a beautiful sky-blue wolf running towards me with black and brown lycans beside her.
She howled looking at the moon and her howl made another two howls erupt from a distance which told me that we have more people to join us.
Soon a beautiful white lycan with a giant jet-black wolf appeared in front of us and we all howled together in joy. Finally, my parents are back.
"I wish Claire was here with us tonight... It feels like a family reunion," Ann said in our mind link while giving a hug in her wolf form to both Mom and Dad.
"And who said I'm going to miss the family run?" Claire said appearing from behind a tree.
She gave a quick hug to her father, brother and grandpa and shifted into her cream colour lycan.
While Dad nodded to me, Mom hugged me in her lycan form and mind-linked me, "I am so happy for you baby. You took the right decision."
"Did Ann already tell you?"
"Her excitement was enough to tell me that she has something to share. There wasn't any need to read her mind," She giggled.
"Well... What about a run to the lake? Let's see if our seniors can still take us down."
Evan said with a wolfy laugh which made Grandpa chuckle and Dad and Uncle Eric excited.
We all looked into each other's eyes while challenging each other and took off into the forest with moonlight following us like a spotlight.
