Caroline's p.o.v
"Please don't cancel, father will kill me, please have mercy" the leader begged as Don sighed.
"Oh well since I'm kind enough I will let you off this, but next time you dare get disrespectful or even look at my woman in any way you will have no eyes left to see, James break each of their hands for irritating me" Don commanded as one of the two men moved from the counter and walked towards the leader.
I looked at Ruby who shut her eyes and sobbed silently in fear.
"Please stop" I whispered softly as Don looked at me with a frown.
"Why?" he asked calmly.
"I just want to take Ruby home, she's gone through a lot today and she's just a little girl," I whispered honestly.
He looked at Ruby for a few minutes then at the bikers who were on their knees.
"You have five seconds to f*****g disappear from my sight" he ordered as the leader and his men stood up and rushed out.
"James, Nate, I want them to feel the pain ten times than the normal pain a man can bear" he commanded.
"Yes sir," they answered together and quickly went.
I rushed to Ruby and lifted her in up my arms.
"Mommy I was scared" she cried loudly.
"Sshhh, mommy is here okay, it's alright, I would never let them hurt you" I whispered then moved and sat down.
Don stood quietly watching us carefully.
I was scared and a little shaken over that man hurting Ruby, I always brought her to the cafe with me thinking it was okay when all I did was putting her in danger.
"Can you please take us home?" I asked Don, he tensed a bit then nodded.
He wasn't the best man to ask but he was the only one I was comfortable with.
"Come" he ordered.
I stood up with Ruby in my arms and walked outside with him, we moved to a black Rolls Royce.
He opened the door for me and shifted a bit for me to get in, I got in and he closed the door then went around and got in too.
I held Ruby closer to me when he started the car and drove off.
Our ride home was quiet, Ruby was asleep in a few minutes and I was relieved that she was.
I glanced at Don and noticed he was focusing on the road, I sighed softly then leaned my head against the chair and closed my eyes, my place was near the cafe but for some reason, he was driving slow
"Hey" he called softly.
"What?" I answered not wanting to remember our past together, his voice always got to me and made it hard for me to be upset with him.
"We are here" he answered.
I opened my eyes in shock when he parked the car in front of my house.
I looked at him surprised, how did he know where I stayed?, I didn't even give him directions, how the hell did he know where I stayed.
He got out and went around the car then quickly opened the door for me.
"give her to me" he whispered as I frowned then glared at him.
"I just want to help," he said softly.
I slowly moved Ruby after hesitating and gave her to him, he gently carried her while I came out and closed the door to the car.
I walked to my house door with him behind and pulled out my house key from my back pocket then unlocked the door.
"Come in," I said as I entered the house.
He walked in then followed me to Ruby's room, we walked in together.
He slowly laid her down on the bed and touched her head gently while I watched, Ruby opened her eyes and looked at Don for a while, while panting loudly, then at me.
"Shhhh, go back to sleep' he whispered.
She looked at him then slowly relaxed.
"Daddy" she whispered as Don looked at me confused.
"Honey, go back to sleep," I said softly.
She nodded then closed her eyes, I moved closer and sat next to her on the bed and began singing her favorite lullaby to make her sleep.
In less than an hour, she was asleep, Don dropped his hand and walked out of the room, I covered Ruby up and kissed her head gently then followed him in the living room where I found him standing, I sat down and folded my hands.
"Thank you for helping us but please leave my house," I said seriously.
"Good to know that you found your courage and resigned being a spy," he said as I tensed in Shock.
He knew! Then why the hell did he test me like that, I wanted to tell at him but kept my mouth shut.
"You know it took me a while to find you" he continued then moved and sat opposite to me.
His eyes were roaming all over my body making me uncomfortable, I looked away not wanting to meet his heated gaze.
"Is Ruby my daughter?" He asked as I looked at him furiously.
"What do you think!, isn't it obvious, I wasn't a slut, you should know damn well enough that you were the first man who had embraced me, you used me mercilessly then kicked me out, not that I'm complaining, I actually received a precious gift and that is Ruby! My f*****g daughter!" I yelled with forming tears in my eyes.
"You know, I'm the one who is suppose to be upset, you pretended to like me, I was fooled and drawn to you, all you ever wanted was my installed data, I didn't expect you to be a spy, I f*****g dropped my damn guard down for you, that night when I saw your hair and heard your moans that's when I realized, the spy was the f*****g lady I was in love with, it shocked me a lot because I trusted you for some reason, now tell me Carol, was sleeping with me also your job," he asked I stood up angrily and moved to him.
"f**k you asshole!" I screamed with tears then slapped him hard across his face.
He looked at me angrily for a second then laughed softly.
