MARCUS’S POV Sabina just passed out after seeing Alex, I was wondering if that happened because she was scared of him. I had to admit, Alexander Pierce was as powerful as I was, and because of that we always butted heads. Sabina was still passed out and I refused to let her lie anywhere else except besides me, Alexander seemed a little too concerned for her and that bothered me a lot. Since we had gotten here and she had passed out, Alexander had left us in his living room and went to his office. He had been acting weirder than all the times I had met him. Alexander was one of my competitors; he seemed to have his hand in ever pie I baked. Every business I ventured into I always somehow bumped into his dusty ass. When we first met he had actually thought he could order me around, he tried hard but I showed him that I was a force to be reckoned with. A war almost broke out over territories and drugs but we managed to come to a resolution and co exit. You can only imagine how hard it was for a man with pride like me to approach someone like this arrogant fool for help, but I would do anything for Sabina and if this fool was responsible for everything going wrong in her life, he was about to pay a deadly price. “Are you ok?’ I asked as she shifted her head from my lap “My head is pounding” she said closing her eyes as if the light was too bright, I kissed her forehead and immediately Alexander walked in. I kissed Sabina softly on the lips and I swear I heard a low growl for Alexander. What the hell was his problem? Sabina’s POV Alexander Pierce. So I passed out after meeting an angel and now I was convinced more than ever that indeed this man was an angel. His mere presence gave me butterflies in my stomach, his deep stares and constant glances made me uncomfortable and I kept changing my sitting position. Marcus read this as me being nervous but I wasn’t sure what it was anymore. When Marcus tried to hold my hand at one point I moved it away and tucked my hands in-between my thighs as if he was doing something he wasn’t allowed to do or he was disgusting me. Realising I was coming off cold I reached for his hand and he mouthed the words ‘relax’ to me. The angel, who had now been officially introduced to me as Alexander Pierce, kept calm with a smirk on his face. It was like he knew the effect he had on me and he was enjoying watching me uncomfortable. This man was more handsome in real life than I had seen in his picture, his eyes beautiful, seductive but cold and unfeeling. His broad shoulders inviting, but with danger lurking... How could I possibly find this man attractive? Wait was I attracted to him? I tried to brush the feeling off and focus on why we were here. “So as I was saying man, I brought my lady here because it turns out your knew her father, in fact he and your father seemed to have a very close relationship” Marcus spoke and Alexander turned his attention from me to him, and I could see how irritated Marcus was. “And what was your father’s name?” he asked with a cold uninterested expression on his face “Jonathan turner” I said in a low voice and for a second he paused, seemingly lost in something and he smiled slightly then responded “Jonathan Turner you say, I assume you are Sabina Turner” he said “Yes I am” I said excitement rose rapidly in me “Well I knew your father that is true, but he was my father’s close friend and....” he paused “confidant, they did everything together. There was nothing that my father did without your dad, and your dad was like a brother to my father and an uncle to me. My father took advice from him every time he faced a dilemma. See... every man in leadership needs a very close confidant, am sure your m.... Marcus here would agree with me” he said and I wondered why he didn’t want to acknowledge Marcus as my man. “So what went wrong?’ I asked ignoring Marcus who was now tensed up “Well your father had a gambling problem. Whenever he had problems either at home or at work he always tried to use alcohol and gambling to escape. We tried to help and support him or at least my father did but he was just on a downward spiral and out of control. Because your father knew so much about our family and its businesses, which meant he also, knew our finances well, in fact he knew them like the back of his hand but we trusted him. Even when we knew people with addictions can’t be trusted, we chose to trust that your father would never do anything for a fix or betray us just for the thrill of it. One morning when we woke up him and your mother were both gone, they were gone with all the money that was in the safe in my father’s office. I had never seen my father so hurt by anything in my life....” he said and I couldn’t hear any more, so he decided to make my mother pay? I thought tears threatening to escape and I pushed them back by taking a sip of water. “So is that why you are doing this?’ I asked and he seemed shocked and confused. Alexander POV “So is this why you are doing this” she said and I was lost and confused, what was she talking about? “You have lost me, what am I doing now?” I asked “I said is that why you are threatening my mom, is it revenge?” she asked bitterly, her words shattering my heart because all the emotions I had clearly seen in her eyes earlier were now turning to fear and hatred. “I do not know what you are talking about, I haven’t even seen or heard from your parents in years” I said in my defence. “Just tell the truth, that’s all we want” Marcus said, his voice making me boil in anger. I was already tying hard to control myself and stop myself from killing him after I walked in on him touching my mate and kissing her like that. How dare he speak when no one was speaking to him, these humans had absolutely no respect for their superiors. “shut up” I shouted and my voice echoed in the room, making Sabina sit back down and crawl into Marcus’ arms and Marcus didn’t even move an inch, I felt horrible that I made her feel like that. From the moment they drove into my mansion I could smell and feel her. I was watching them from the balcony, watching Marcus touch her like she belonged to him and she didn’t. She was mine... And it was funny how, after so many years of searching for my mate, Marcus my sworn enemy was the one to go out and find her for me. And not only that, he even delivered her right on my doorstep. Of course I wouldn’t dare taker her now, but getting her would be much easier because now I knew who she was and most importantly who she was with. “Please believe me, I do not know what I was talking about” I meant to sound sincere but from her expression and Marcus’ expression I knew my attempts were failing and I was only making her feel worse. I wanted to reach out and touch her, to make her feel the electricity between us but I couldn’t risk a war with Marcus...not right now. I had too much to lose. “I apologise” I said straightening my posture and then sitting back down ‘”so if it’s not him then who is it” she said turning her head to Marcus clearly I was missing a lot from this visit and conversation. “Don’t worry I will find them and they will pay” Marcus said as she buried her head in his chest while stabbing my heart at the same time. “Please tell me what’s going on maybe I can help” I offered and Marcus frowned “NO, we don’t need your help I am handling this” he said and I looked at Sabina whose head buried in his chest again while my heart bled even more. “I have to take her home, sorry to bother you and thank you for the little help you gave us” Marcus said, what an ungrateful bastard. He held her hand and literally had to drag her toward the door. She might have wanted to leave but her body and heart wanted to stay here with me, and soon I would make her see that. “Sabina” I called out before they were out the door and she froze and I immediately knew that she knew who I was although she wasn’t sure, and I knew she felt what I was feeling. What I wasn’t sure o however was whether or not she knew what she was to me. “I may be a cold fucker...but I will melt for you” I said and Marcus gave me the deadliest glare before rushing to me but she caught him and pulled him out of the house.  “Follow them” I said through a mind link.
