As I come out of the bathroom, I see a big white box with a red ribbon sitting on the dining table. Curiosity piqued, I furrow my brow and approach it.
This has to be Aiden’s doing again - he’s been non-stop bringing me stuff. To be honest, though, the stuffed bear he brought is cute. However, I still haven’t forgiven him. He’s trying, though, and I appreciate that.
In addition, he gave me a new wedding band, engraved with the words “always and forever” on the inside. I haven’t put it on. It remains nestled inside its box, tucked away in my bedside drawer.
Turning to my sister, I gesture towards the box, and inquire, “What is this?”
She shrugs while flicking through the channels on the TV. “Beat me”
