Chapter Seven To my surprise, we went past the small woman barn to a row of small sheds a little bit beyond it. I had not paid them much attention before because they looked like they hadn’t been used for some time. As we neared them, though, I could feel the anticipation rising in Augustin’s guests. Torches set atop metal poles provided light to see by. I saw Augustin gesture to one of his men, who then stepped forward to open the door of the first shed. It was rather a wide door, and it creaked and groaned on its old hinges as it was swung open. Augustin spotted me and signaled for me to come over. I went, wondering. “I thought you might like to see this, my friend,” he smiled. “I am certain that you are curious.” He escorted me into the shed. One of his guests had already preceded us.
