Chapter Six It was late afternoon. I had showered and changed and even taken a short nap back in my room. Now I sat at the table on the patio, enjoying the sunshine, the fresh air, and the hearty late lunch that the villa staff had rustled up for me. Unlike breakfast, there was plenty of meat on the table, but it was almost all ham, pork or lamb. Augustin served beef on occasion, but not often. I would have loved a cheeseburger and fries, but those could only be had back on the mainland, which was a two-hour ride by boat…when the boat was running. I settled for what was available, which was still substantial and filling.
