ONE NIGHT STAND

CHAPTER TWO

Amelia was at work when Alexander's secretary called her.

"Hello," She said, laced with anticipation.

"Hello Ms. Amelia, I am glad to announce the approval of the presentation that was held yesterday"

Amelia's heart skipped a beat. "Approval?" The thought of her presentation's failure was still fresh in her mind, she had assumed that her proposal was doomed.

"Yes, congratulations," His secretary said before cutting the phone.

Amelia shouted out for joy and her co-workers joined her to celebrate the great news

Alexander wasn't pleased with her presentation but he's doing this because he felt something for her after seeing her.

It was the first time Alexander would feel for any lady, he's considered to be a playboy. Even his wife, Ariana, he got married to her because of what her father had to offer to the company.

Ariana's father approached Alexander a year ago. He told him that he would make his company a global company if only he married his daughter, Ariana.

Ariana is a beautiful lady, she's a model.

Even though Alexander never loved her, he couldn't turn down the offer.

Alexander is ready to go miles to make sure his company is doing well.

Last year, his company was in the Top 3 best companies.

He sees that as two opportunities, an opportunity for his company to go globally and as for Ariana to model for his company.

A month after Ariana's father approached him, Ariana and Alexander got married. He hardly talks to her. Ariana got married to him because she wanted to be tagged, as the CEO's wife of an FL company. She's always busy modeling for companies while he is busy attending conferences.

He wasn't calm, all he was thinking about was Amelia, Alexander could not even believe that he could fall in love with anybody, now it was revealed to him that he had fallen in love with Amelia, but he wouldn't accept the fact that he had fallen so deep.

His pride would not make him call her directly, he was expecting a call from her regarding the approval of the presentation, and when she didn't call, he decided to call her.

Her phone was ringing but she was not picking up her calls. He called the financial secretary of Maureen's company to ask after her but she said she wasn't at work and they had all tried calling her, but she was not picking up her call.

"Could it be that she's busy with her husband? What could be the reason why she's ignoring her calls?"

He was worried, so he went to his compound and drove one of his cars out to Amelia's house, for sure, he still remembered his house.

"I am sure she and her husband are not living together because I could not see any traces of a man living there," He said as he drove away from his house.

He got to her house, the gatekeeper opened the gate, he was shocked when the twins came to welcome him.

They were walking slowly, and they hugged his legs tightly.

"Welcome, Daniel and Daniella's father" The maid greeted.

"Huh" Alexander was confused, now things are beginning to get clear to him, which means Amelia never introduced anyone as the father of the twins, hence the reason for the maid calling him their father.

"Where is Ms. Amelia?" Alexander asked.

"Welcome sir…She's not feeling fine, she's inside"

Leaving the twins, Alexander rushed to meet Amelia inside.

"How are you doing Ms. Amelia"

She tried to lift herself up from the long chair she was lying on in the living room.

"Mr. Alexander, whoa...Good Morning"

"Good Morning Ms. Amelia, I have been calling you, didn't you know that we are to start something as soon as your presentation was approved" Alexander is pretending to care more about work.

Amelia could not but stare at the handsome man standing in front of him.

As Alexander stands in front of Amelia, his tall and athletic frame towers over her, his presence commanding and captivating.

."I am sorry about that, I have not been feeling fine, I haven't even touched my phone today, I should have called the secretary to send a mail about my health to you, but they are not aware that I am not feeling good"

"How is your health now?"

"I am fine, my doctor just left quite long, I am fine"

"Okay, I'll be back soon"

"Wait, let me get you drinks, you can't just come and leave the same way you did the last time you gave me a ride"

Amelia felt so bad that Alexander had left without her welcoming him well.

"Alexander Redington, I won't fall for you this time around, I won't," She said with a smile after she left.

She sat down and Alexander came in again, this time with a bouquet.

"Get well soon," He said as he gave her.

Amelia was trying to resist the pull of his charm.

“Whoa…. I like this, thank you for this, I never expected this, I appreciate, Mr. Alexander”

Alexander kissed her on her forehead, Amelia could not resist it anymore, she kissed him deeply on his lips.

As Daniel and Daniella entered, they stopped kissing

"I am sorry…" Alexander said.

"It's fine, I am fine"

"I will be on my way now, take care of yourself, please, message me anytime you are free”

Amelia was dumbfounded when Alexander left.

She sat down reflecting on what happened, the image of Alexander walking away from her door stays afresh in her memory. The emotions she felt in that moment, the passion they shared, all swirling in her mind, but so was the fear of what could happen if she were to tell him about their past encounter.

“I am Maureen's Company Manager, he might think I am looking for attention, I won't do that, I won't tell him he's the father of my twins, I'll just keep it away from him, moreover, he didn't even remember, so is there any need for that?” Amelia said to herself.
