Chapter 21: Dreaded Attack Part 2

I had just spoken with Erik about the stunt he pulled and how he could do that to his daughter, I even told him there was no guarantee that Tennison wouldn't see his memories. He said, "My lord, I don't think he did or he would have had us all dead by now," I was pissed but he did have a point, "Maybe, he just wanted to kill you and never saw your memories," I said. We need to find out why they can't be Alpha commanded by me but could be Alpha commanded by Alpha Ares. Something is not right, we need to find out where they appeared from and who their parents are. I said, "We need to call off the attack in case they know, and we can't afford to go to war with them, not until we know everything about their life." I can safely say, I was scared and no one ever had me scared like this, these brothers were too powerful for my liking.

My mind started to wonder about the prophecy and if it was true, did these special beings we have only ever heard about return? I just shut that explanation down, we will find a way for Ares and his brothers to submit to me, the easy way or the hard way. I was calming myself down when the alarm went off and all hell broke loose, I told that i***t, "Did you not cancel the attack?" He said, "Not now," before his link went blank, "f**k," I thought, and went into battle mode so no one suspects me. I fought alongside everyone and saw Emerie get hurt but Michael got her out of there as Beta Drake went crazy ripping heads off, I was in shock at his shared power. Tennison was just laughing like an i***t and he always reminded me of someone, Elijah and Jasper spared no one until I saw General Kolie choking a wolf to death, these men were vicious.

I heard a growl as pain shot through my chest, Lily was hurt and I needed to find her but I couldn't move, my wolf submitted to Ares, "What the f**k just happened?" I was so shocked as I saw him walking with Michelle in his arms but it wasn't him, it was his vampire, the mark of an ancient Vampire King was glowing on his forehead and I was speechless. I looked at Elijah, who even bowed to him and his second-in-command, I needed answers but now was not the time. Amon mind-linked me and let me know a lot of our allies were killed as reports rolled in from other packs, attacking Alpha Ares was a mistake. He was two steps in front of us and I needed to regroup, I needed to find the source of his power.

There is no record of him and his brothers being born in the supernatural realm, they were made and I need to know who was powerful enough to pull this off. I will not lose my Kingdom, which I worked so hard for, I need to play it safe and find their weakness. I walked over to Lily, who the pack doctor saw as she was healing already, I watched Ares bring his mate back to life and people gave him the knee, I'm losing favor with my subjects. I need to befriend him and try a different approach just like I did with Aidan so long ago, my daughter's marriage is the way, whether it's Tennison or Sky Valmore, she will help me bring his empire down and he will work for me.

I walked over to Erik as he was led to the arena, I wanted to save him but I really couldn't if I wanted Alpha Ares at my side. There were reports of an upcoming rebellion and I needed all the powerful allies I could get, seeing these Valmore brothers, I wouldn't want to be on their bad side. I am the Alpha King, yet they seem more powerful and I needed to know how and who gave them these powers. No one has ever been proven to be this powerful and if I found a way to kill Aidan, then I will find a way to kill the rest of them as well. I am willing to sacrifice Erik to achieve my goals, plus his mate had already dumped him for Tennison, however, I will try to help him survive the battle and he can be a rogue but alive. I was trying to figure out what made them tick, I walked up to Erik, and he said something but I couldn't understand it.

The fear in his eyes and the Vlamore brothers just laughing like they wanted to kill him for a long time, did Tennison see what was in his mind? My plan failed because of Erik and his stupidity with his daughter knowing the sort of wife he had, she was not going to let that slide. Now, I had to try a different approach, and as I walked back to take my place next to Lily, who wasn't speaking to me for some reason, listening to Ares talk about Erik's punishment. I approved the punishment because it would have happened with or without me, Alpha Ares made that clear. Drake started to name the rules, watching Erik panicking until he heard no rules funny enough. The look on his face as he seemed to realize that he had a fighting chance, I linked one of my men to help by giving him a knife when the time was right.

I know Erik was not a bad fighter, at least they gave him a fighting chance, I was nervous and I was trying to figure out why he sounded so jumbled talking to me. Nevertheless, I was focused on the fight, I hoped he won and I could at least pull some strings for him in the Rogue Kingdom. If he had listened to me and called the hit off, he wouldn't be here, furthermore, as I shook my head in disappointment, I say again, he knew what type of wife he had, why would he piss her off? I was brought out of my thoughts when the fight started, I watched in anticipation and I looked a how Ares was still so calm and giving off a strong aura, I needed to know who their witch was and see if I could convince whoever changed or made them stronger to make me stronger than them. There is no way in hell they should have this much power, I turned to Ty as he was going to kill Erik, I wanted to stop this madness but if I wanted Ares on my side, Erik would just have to be sacrificed.

After Erik was killed, I looked for my mates who were mingling in that after-party crowd, Jasper had Marie close to him and she turned to me running into my arms, kissing and linking me, "Are you okay, baby?" Jasper smiled at me and I checked her out making sure was good and didn't get hurt although it would have been healed by now. She protected the workers in the locked kitchen pantry from the rogues and my little Queen did well. I watched as the cleaning up happened and Cayden was still lost at what happened he couldn't fandom that he slept through it all. He looked like a lost puppy as his brother scolded him until he pulled him into a hug, Cayden loves Michael and Michael would kill for him that much everyone knew. Kolie was checking on Adio and his mate, he looked at me and I linked him, "You can stay a little longer, my friend, Piot got it covered," and he nodded in understanding.

I walked over to Aidan and Drax, they were deep in talks when he looked at me and he said, "Michelle will be fine, thank you for being here," and I hugged him. Drax was shocked that the power to resurrect had unlocked before getting the other powers like Toffe researched, it was supposed to be their final power but the pain Aidan felt when Michelle was killed, forced it to unlock. I knew the boys were getting stronger as time went on and we decided to meet after Aidan's honeymoon to discuss the final draft before we end Roman for good. Drax was ordered to find the remaining rogues that escaped and I went to the dungeons to see the traitors that helped Roman. Jasper joined me with my knife that is made from the same material as my sword, I was going to end them, no one betrays me or the crown. We walked into the dungeons and they were low-level vampires, I couldn't believe they aligned themselves with a demon like Roman.

I wanted any information that could help us before I killed them when one looked at me and said, "Spare me, my lord and I will tell you what happened to Lady Lauren." I said, "Tell me and I will make it quick or I could get one of the Valmores in here," and he pissed his pants saying, "The man that hired us said he violated the Prince's daughter a long time ago, she wasn't the target, he was but she was there at the party instead of him, so they had fun with her instead as a threat to Prince Piot, my lord," and I grab him in anger. I said, "Name," and he looked at me saying, "We called him, Sin, no one knows his real name," I linked him saying, "You worked for the person who violated my daughter and sent her crazy, I will kill you and everyone you ever loved," he opened his eyes at the revelation as I buried the knife in his brain watching his body burned. I turned to Jasper handing him the knife as he realized I was hiding something from him and he finished killing every one of those useless vampires.

I was in the battle as everything went down, I watched my first target get hurt but the Fae Prince got her to safety, I mind-linked my men to get to the bride and get out of there before we were all slaughtered. I was about to head back to the trees when I was told, "Mission accomplished," we dodged the bears but all went to our knees as a growl forced us to stop. I was fighting it but no one could move, I looked back to see Alpha Ares and his brothers with the dead Luna in his hands, he brought her back to life. I was shocked and asked myself, "What the f**k did we get ourselves into?" As soon as the suppression released us, two of my men and I were the only ones to escape, we headed back to Dragonmare in our SUV. I hope King Roman wires our money to the account or I will end him myself.
