Chapter 35: Birthday Surprise Part 1

One Month Later

Jasper

I have been back home for almost two weeks now and was getting everything finalized for the birthday party tonight, the Grande Hotel was being used for this occasion. I owned the hotel so that was one expense covering the extravagant event, only those who had invitations were allowed in the grand hall for the party. Elijah was in Frogger Forest on business and I was running things in Vampora as Marie was at the spa with her close friends and daughters. Elliot was on his handheld video game next to me with his headphones on, he was eleven now and knowledgeable about things beyond his years. His younger brother, Jaca was annoying Elijah at the office, I was signing off on the delivery of alcohol when I saw Amara and Elliot run over to her yelling, "Aunt Amy," and hugging her. She loved Elliot and was rubbing her baby bump, it would be baby number two for her and her mates.

She hugged me when I asked about Nolix, she smiled and said, "He will be here later," I walked her to a table in the restaurant so we could have lunch together since Elly was also hungry. I had Elly's guard escort him to our quarters so he could take a nap before later, he wanted to attend and I wasn't going to stop him from missing his mother's birthday but he won't be up late. I was checking the guest list when Malvoc walked behind me saying "Your Highness, a word," I turned to him saying, "It's Jasper to you, Malvoc, it's been years." He nodded before he said, "I have been looking into finding Joniza but he completely disappeared, I think he has someone powerful helping beside Fury because I don't think they are together." He looked at the list and said, "Simon Durrows is attending?" He looked shocked and I asked, "Is that a problem?"

He said, "No, it's just that he usually turns down any chance to be here among royalty, that's all," and I smiled saying, "Maybe, he has a change of heart," before he left to go and help Piot with the list of people who had access to 'dragon fire.' Later that afternoon, it was getting closer to the event and Elijah wasn't back yet, I saw Igor talking to guards as he was promoted after he helped Elijah, I was still Jealous of him but I trusted Elijah. Marie had walked in and her hair looked lovely, and she had very nice looking nails, she kissed me and said, "You will not be ruining my hair," and I said, "I won't," before I had dessert from between her legs. I loved Marie and she will get anything she wants today, she moans as I suck on her clit until she was no help to herself. She got up after to go check on Elliot who was still asleep when Elijah came home looking exhausted. I kissed him telling him to rest before later, I will look after Jaca and with that, he was on the bed fast asleep.

Simon

I was finishing up in the office when I got a link from my husband about meeting him at the penthouse to get ready for the ball, I wasn't too keen on going but my husband was excited. I kept out of royal matters for a long time, especially after finding out the King was my uncle. I guess Prince Piot and Princess Kenna were my parents and put me up for adoption, I didn't want to face any of them as they didn't want me. So I learned to keep my aura in and hid my wolf on most occasions, I built my wealth and stayed low and out of sight. No one knows my true heritage, I love my husband but I was still afraid to mark him because he would get a royal mark and I wanted to keep my identity a secret for a lot longer. Plus, knowing the royals, they probably have a lot of enemies and I refused to be caught in the middle, I preferred the simple things in life although I was rich.

I still remember when I met my husband, he seemed shy and I was passing through and stopping at the local cafe, I saw him walking up the sidewalk. He was handsome, had nice caramel skin, and had this walk that drew you in, he was confident, and although I had no plans of interacting with him, I figured a night of fun couldn't be bad. So when he walked over to me, I gave him my number and left, hoping, he would call before I went back to the city later that night. I was in a meeting when he messaged me and I smiled, I had told my VP that I would be heading back to the city and to keep me informed on all matters. I changed out of my suit and found the bar he was working at, it was almost closing so I decided to wait until he came out. He was like a kid in the candy store looking at the city lights as I crossed the bridge, he was so innocent and I wanted to protect him from the troubles in the world.

After our night of fun and s*x, we spent the day together, he even missed work, and then a few days later, he asked me to stay, he was tired of traveling back and forth so I let him stay. We fell in love and on our three-month anniversary, after a sexy dinner, I proposed to him after steamy s*x. He made me forget my troubles, he made me come alive forgetting that I was an outcast of the royal family. I was lonely and he came into my life when I needed the support and was so supportive in all my endeavors so when he asked to attend the ball, I couldn't say no. It was always my instinct to please him and see his beautiful happy smile, I pulled up to the house just outside the city and went inside. I hated being back in Vampora but I made the most of it to make my love happy, he was getting ready and I kissed his soft lips as he took my clothes out and ran to take a shower.

We arrived at the party and it was crowded, I was wearing nice black jeans and a maroon sweater as it was a bit chilly and my hubby wore matching pants and shoes except for the sweater, he wore a V-neck T-shirt and a leather jacket. We gave our names at the door as we entered the party, it was a huge hall and the guests were talking and mingling with each other. I held my husband's hand leading him over to the bar, he looked around so excited at the decorations and I kissed his cheek linking him, saying, "I could give you a big party like this for your birthday," and he looked at me smiling, kissing me. We had our drinks and we kept to ourselves when he said, "You look worried," and I smiled saying, "I just need to clear my head," when I saw my parents enter the hall, and I took a breath. Jakey looked at me and said, "Hey, look at me, what is wrong?"

Elijah

I had Marie's gift and was heading down to the party, I overslept and the closer I got, I could hear the music, I saw a lot of people as I entered the room. I saw Eli talking to Tommen and I smiled as he nodded at me, I walked over to Barron who was busy in talks with Nolix, Jasper, and Michael. I kissed Jasper on his cheek, took a sip of his drink and Michael said, "Get your own drink, cold one," and Baron laughed saying, "Tonight, we are here to have fun," and then we felt Aidan walked in with Luna Michelle and Lily. The live band started playing and I saw Prince Varek and Mace who are here in place of Ty sending his best regards as he was away on business in the human territory with Addison. I turned to see Amara talking with our mother and father and I walked over to them hugging my sister and then my mother. My father shook my hand and said, "You are doing so much better than I did," and I cut him off saying, "I understand why you left and we never gave up on you," hugging my sister, we always believed he was alive.

I turned to go look for Lauren as I was told she was here at the party, I saw Simon and his mate out of the corner of my eyes and he was staring at someone. I was surprised he came and then I saw that he was looking at Piot and his mate in disgust and disappointment before his mate took him outside. I was going to talk to him although he doesn't know I am his uncle, I never told him and I hope his adoptive parents keep that secret because he was looking at Piot the wrong way. Amara doesn't know I spared him when I had the parental bond suppressed so she would think he died. She hated Logar and I don't blame her but I couldn't send the baby back to be killed because Logar would have killed him. I got distracted as Marie jumped in front of me planting a kiss on my lips and telling me, "Thank you, my love, I am having fun, lots of it," and I was happy we did something nice for her. Piot walked over with Kenna and the women ran off to have fun, Piot and Johrir had become close and we turned to go look for Lauren.

As we turned to walk down the hall I heard a scream looking around to see Amara froze up, everyone turned in her direction including Aidan. I followed where she was staring and it was Simon, with his mate behind him, I closed my eyes knowing this was not good, and the guards came forward surrounding Simon. I told everyone to stand down and advised Simon to go with Eli to one of the vacant rooms. Simon looked like his father, only those who ever saw what Logar looked like would know this as he kept his identity private for years before he was killed, however, he still has his mother's hair color at least. Barron and I got a headache, our blood was talking to us letting us know our enemy was close and I notified Aidan so he could be on the lookout for Fury. I needed to talk to Amara before I talked to Simon and I asked Nolix to join me, Amara's other mate wasn't here tonight, so it was just him, and I went into the room with my parents to explain what just happened.
