Chapter 29: Temporary Pardon

I arrived in the underworld waiting for Samuel's presence, I hadn't been down here in forever and smiled because the last time I was here, Samuel's grandfather was King. His grandfather was quite the charmer but always kept his promises to me and the treaty we have works for us. I felt when Samuel made it to the room, I turned to see him smile at me bowing before I told him to sit, I told him, "I need a favor from you," and continued to tell him about Issy. He knew the basics and asked, "Why are you going through with it, Your Grace?" I turn to him saying, "They are the Supreme Beings, I give them the power of the goddess to do a job and lead by example, I am taking a big risk being here because I shouldn't intervene with fate but I will grant her the wish of seeing her father one last time before she moves on, so send Roman in three days so she can go in peace."

Samuel bowed at me and I turned to walk away when I saw his wife Kaitlyn in the shadows, I smiled saying, "I give you a second chance because you were not a bad person just led astray and you work perfectly with Samuel." I walked back out heading back to the Garden of the Moon, I saw the statue of the fallen angel and I smiled because he will always be my first love. I had to make preparations and as the Moon God waited on me, he smiled saying, "Did you sneak out to give Issy her special gift although I am disappointed in her soulless father?" I smiled and then kissed his soft lips saying, "He is still being punished until he is finally sent to the wasteland to die out, never to be reincarnated. The wasteland is where all my creations who turned evil go to die out never to be reincarnated, some things can be forgiven and others aren't.

I already sacrificed having my biological children around to become my leaders, they chose this but chose not to have any memories of it but they still need to follow my rules. I love my boys, all five of them, Lars, Lears, Lomer, Lux, and Liev, I do hope they rule Ravena as I would want it, in peace and harmony and making the hard decisions when they need to for eternity. Lux however wasn't supposed to be reincarnated but he slithers through attaching himself to the quads unknown to us, the little trickter he is. Aidan's bloodline is special for this reason now the others joined him because of circumstances forced upon them and written a time long ago. That line is the Moon Goddess line and has remained hidden over the years, I never told the quadruplets that they have been reincarnated over and over again and that they are my boys doing my bidding for the greater good.

I chose my boy's mates because they had their purpose in their unique way and it helped join the species together in peace, Roman created a rift between the species and it was my boy's duty to get the job done. If not for the species mixing years ago a lot of heritage and bloodlines would never exist including my boys. Issy and Sophie could have the same mate but I wanted it to be different for them because Issy is a lot stronger than she thinks and Sophie was built to tame the bear. I didn't like the way things went but I had to let it happen for my boys to be reborn and set things straight. Ravena was threading closely to being discovered in the human world and that would be disastrous, we need to live among them in secret, so that we could survive.

Balthazar appeared with the prisoner and this was the first time he had been in the Garden of the Moon, he looked tired but he failed me and his brothers. I will never let it be known that he was my son, the youngest of my kids, and as much I would like to give him his memory back so he could know it was me but I couldn't. Toar walked behind me linking, "I came to see my son," and he walked past me staring in Roman's face before he said to Balthazar, "Leave us." I knew what he wanted to do so I prepared myself as Toar gave him his memory back and he looked at us saying, "Mom, Dad." It dawned on him and I felt his rage as he yelled, "You are going to let me go back there to be tortured, never to return?"

Toar silences him saying, "You betrayed us all including your brothers, and tore an imbalance in the timeline but we will let you say goodbye to your daughter, she will be joining us here," and he says, "You can save her." I told him we couldn't and after we finished our conversation we took his memory away as he waited for Issy to pass, Balthazar waited and Toar retreated to his temple of the Gods. He was heartbroken about our youngest and I dreaded ever letting him leave here knowing he would never return, he should have been prepared to be in the Temple of the Gods instead. Lux was destined to always let us down and we tried with him but he wanted this and he failed over and over again. This time he went too far and too many people were being hurt by his cruelty and we needed it to end before the Gods were forced to end our creations and start over.

I watched as Roman said, "I am so sorry, my baby girl, I hope you find true peace here," and then he was led back through a portal to the underworld. I walked up to Issy welcoming her and said, "Sorry that this had to happen but you are my rulers, if my rulers don't follow rules, then what is the point?" She bowed as she cried, and I felt bad because this was hard for her but I needed all of them on the same page or they would always have people think they were weak and gunning for them and their loved ones. So I said to her, "If Toffe succeeds in his task, I will think about sending you back reincarnated." She eventually followed me to where she would be staying and I showed her around as we waited for Toffe to succeed in his lessons to send her back.

After Selene left the underworld, Kaitlyn was excited the moon goddess saw her as someone who needed a second chance and we kissed each other. She left to go make sure her father was being punished, he was killed a few months back and he tried to run away, I hate when Balthazar has to hunt these idiots down, they know very well they are going to prison before being decided on if they will be reincarnated. Piot is here on business for King Elijah and I see that he is holding the special gun made from a very ancient blade made specifically for that bloodline, he is either King Elijah's brother or his father's brother but someone is hiding secrets. I give him an ancient ingredient and I hope it helps his daughter but I believe something else is missing and I will do my research.

I watched Balthazar return with a very special prisoner and Connor came through the door asking me for help on something he was working on. Roman was trying his best not go to back to his cell when he looked at me and said, "I want to talk to Aidan, I know you can get them to see me before you make a decision," and I nodded to Balthazar to get the message to Aidan. I decided to visit a special someone and I left the underworld heading to Faeora, I appeared in his quarters waiting until he returned before I felt the door open, I knew which ingredient was missing after listing what Marion was looking for. King Elijah will be pleased if this turns out to be it but it is scarce and hardly happens. He turned to look at me and said, "I don't see your sister anymore, we broke up," and I smiled saying, "That's not why I am here."

I had just met Samuel, who was visiting his son, Connor, who had his daughter a while back, and he has started being in a pack with Toffe's son as his third in command, or as they are called Gamma. He was attending the Academy when they first met and hit it off, I was in town for Aidan's birthday party. Amara and my mother were joining us along with Johrir, Johrir has been taking it easy since the death of Vivianne, the whole of Ravenna felt it, and a lot of people who were under her thumb, spells were being broken slowly and a lot more people were finding their fated mates. I hope Lauren will find hers in the process and this one will love her for her, Lauren relapsed again and this time, we increased the dosage, and she is being monitored until we find the cure, we are close and I was waiting on more relevant information from Igor.

I walked into his apartment unseen as he waited on me, he seemed to have left his door open when I heard the shower so I waited, I saw the file on his desk but I was a patient man. I decided to pour a scotch, he always had the finest drinks around, expensive because he was paid well. I felt a presence as he walked out of the shower but I didn't turn around giving him privacy as I looked out at the lake below. I felt a hand go around me as he kissed my neck and I turned to face him saying, "Igor, I can't, I love my mates, I wouldn't do that to them," he kissed me while mind-linking me saying, "It's going to cost you." I pushed him off gently remembering our brief fling years ago saying, "Igor," and he smiled, my d**k did jump when he grabbed it feeling aroused because he knew how to pull my strings. I didn't realize that he was naked as he picked up the file saying, "You are going to love what I found out."

He stood before me, touching my chest seductively saying, "Are you sure you can't make an exception, Your Majesty?" I smiled reminding myself not to look at his gorgeous body and d**k saying, "We had good times, Igor, long ago but I wouldn't hurt them," and took the file from him when he pulled me in for a kiss moaning feeling his hard-on. I kissed back forgetting that my mates would have felt that, I felt him release me in a flash and saw Jasper snapping his neck in a rage. Igor's lifeless body dropped to the floor as Jasper looked at me angry and hurt. I looked at my mate, his eyes filled with vengeance and disappointment before he teleported as I told him to wait, I couldn't leave Igor like that so I linked Ty and he appeared with a big goofy grin as I explained what happened forgetting only that his neck was snapped, he would just be out for a few hours.
