Amber

Amber I have been having their weird blackouts. I don’t know why. Today, I end up waking up in some prison. What the hell did I do? Am I going crazy?    I see my boss, my boss’ boss, and the hot guy I have a crush on coming over to my prison cell. Are they going to let me out?    “What bullshit are you up to Amber?” Trevor asks. I wince at his tone. I don’t know what happened but he is pissed off. Realization suddenly hits me in the face. They imprisoned me!   “What is wrong with you three? Where am I? Why would you lock me up? This has to be illegal! I am going to tell the cops! Let me go!” I scream.    “Cops?” Max laughs. “Look Amber, you can make this very easy for us. Tell us what you know, and you live. No cop is going to be helping you.”   I gulp. I don’t even know how to explain anything. I don’t know what they want. I don’t even know what happened.    The only thing I am guilty of is lusting over Trevor. He had the bad boy look down, and he was incredibly sexy. I don’t know how other girls could resist him. I joined the travel company by chance.    When I found out that he worked here, I made it a point to bring him coffee every morning. I just want to see him. No harm in that. I knew it wouldn’t go anywhere because he was in a relationship. I had overhead that he had a girlfriend. I was extremely jealous, but I wasn’t making any advances. I just liked to drool over him.    “Look, I don’t know what is going on. Tell me what you want to know, and I will do my best to answer your questions,” I tell them.    “What is your interest in Trevor?” Jace asks.    “I find him attractive. I like to bring him coffee in the morning. That’s it. There is nothing more than that,” I tell them.    “Why did you kiss me? Why did you end up in my bed?” Trevor demands.    What the f**k?    “Look, I don’t know what you are talking about. I don’t recall kissing you. I certainly don't recall being in your bed. I have been having blackouts and waking up in random places. I swear I was out and woke up in this prison. I don’t remember anything else. Ask me whatever you want, but I can’t tell you more than this because I don’t know. Stop accusing me of s**t! I may be attracted to you, but I am not crazy or that desperate!” I exclaim.    I am tired of them blaming me, imprisoning me, and threatening me. It’s not my fault. I am just an average girl trying to make a living.    Jace She doesn’t know anything. This is definitely a witch’s work. She put some kind of spell on this girl. Since she is a human, we are going to have to tread very carefully. I have to see if Riley can erase her memories. We can set her free after that.    We don’t have any leads so there are lots of unanswered questions at this point. I wonder if the witch also put a spell on Trevor. It’s not like a wolf to be attracted to someone else once they find a mate.    “We will let you go tonight, Amber. If we find out that you had something to do with this, we will come for you. We will kill you!” I tell her firmly. I can smell her fear. I know she won’t try anything. I just need Riley to get rid of whatever spell she is under. I can also see if Riley can search Amber’s memories for anything that may be useful.    Someone is using her to harm Trevor or maybe even Moon Stone. It’s hard to tell right now because we know so little. Since Riley’s sedative will wear off tonight, we will just keep Amber prisoner until then. All of our cells have been upgraded to provide maximal power drain, so there is no chance of her escaping. I don’t feel good about keeping someone imprisoned unnecessarily. I just hope I don’t regret letting her go.   Trevor already looks disappointed with my decision, but he is respectful. Max, I can’t read. He always hides his emotions very well.    “Alright boys, Amber obviously doesn’t know what is going on. Let’s do what we really need to do. Let’s focus on finding Laney.”   Trevor I don’t trust Amber. I think she is making everything up to save herself. However, my Alpha has spoken. So I will follow his command. Besides, I want to find Laney. I hope Riley can get this thing out of my mind. I don’t want to waste a second more on this pitiful, disgusting person.    We go upstairs to our conference room. It’s our go to room for brainstorming. It’s big, bright and open. Despite what disaster is happening around us, the room is always welcoming and relaxing. It’s got windows all around and looks out to a very zen pond.  We all sit at the round table. Nell, Alexis, and Riley join us.    “Does anyone have any idea where Laney could be?” I ask. I need answers. I am getting impatient. I need to find her now before she gets hurt. I would never forgive myself if something happened to her while she ran away because of me.    “I actually know where she is. She went back to our old pack, Shadow Moon. I just go off the phone with Mom,” Riley says.    As soon as those words leave her mouth, I am up and ready to go. Jace pulls me back down.    “Sit down, Trevor. She is safe right now. The last thing she needs is for you to show up. She may run again, and this time may end up somewhere we won’t be able to find. We need to be smart about this and get Laney to come back to us willingly,” Jace says.    “Let me call and talk to her. She still has a block up, but there is no reason why she won’t talk to me. I will try to convince her to come back,” says Riley.    “Okay,” I responded, defeated and miserable. I just want everything to go back to normal.
