Chapter 6 - Present - Jordan
The Alpha wanted to destroy everything in his path.
He just wanted to throw everything away, so he could have his family back.
Finding an excuse for what he was going through was easy, but he just managed to blame himself for everything that was going on in his life.
"DAMN IT!" Beating his hand against the wooden wall, the Pack's House seemed to tremble with their Alpha's fury, scaring mainly the children who ran to hide with their parents.
"... I know how you are feeling, Liam, but you need to calm down first." His Beta spoke, entering the office after taking a deep breath. "You will end up destroying the Pack's House like that."
"Calm down? How am I suppose to calm down, Zeus?" Turning to look at his best friend, the only emotions in Alpha's greenish-brown eyes was one of regret. "Nicholas, my pup is out there! Goddess knows where with some lunatic, who wants to take my place."
That scene wasn't anything easy for the Beta to observe. He had only seen his friend broken like that only twice in the past...
When he first arrived in the Pack, after the fire that killed his mother and older brother, leaving only Liam alive while his father remained in a coma in a hospital bed.
And the second time... Well... The second time had happened just a few months ago, and it was probably the one that most changed the Alpha's personality to the angry being that was breaking down before Zeus.
"My son is missing, and what the heck am I doing? I'm planning to open a new spa in the middle of nowhere!" Two months had passed, and no news had been heard from Nicholas.
And like the strange attack that happened in the afternoon when the boy disappeared, everything seemed just a bad dream that never occurred, as since that day nothing else happened like no more news was heard from the kidnapper.
"I know it must be hard to think about it, Liam, but remember that other Packs are helping us to look for him, including the Alpha Alexander from Mingan." Saying such words was difficult for the black man who loved his nephew, but that was the burden of being one of the Pack's dominant wolves. "Besides, as people always say, no news is good news, Liam. So we need to keep everything as normal as possible, so the humans don't notice what happened too."
As much as William wanted to disagree with his Beta, he also wanted to believe that it was true, that his son was fine somewhere, waiting for them to find him.

As if he were challenging me, the puppy whined, tapping his paw on the pot I had put his food in, making me wonder if he might want more.
"Do you want more?" Placing my plate in front of him, I asked as if he could answer me, just for him growl at me, preventing me from putting the rest of the rice in his little pot with his head. "... What is wrong with you?"
And again, Fluffy just whined like he was answering my question before he pushed the plate with his nose in my direction.
"... Do you want me to have it?" Confused, I asked, trying to understand him, and as simple as that, he just nodded to me.
... It was official, I really needed to go to sleep now...
Without saying anything else, I just sat on the counter, feeling the puppy's stare the whole time it took me to put the fork in my mouth before he accompanied me to finish his dinner when I started my third mouthful.
... Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to eat at night after all if I had the company of my little furry friend with me...
After I finished wash the dishes, I turned on the television to see if I had anything interesting to watch.
But after see news about that spa, built by the man called William, very similar to what Ria showed me a few days ago, I decided to go to bed, read something on my phone while a weeping Fluffy followed me.
Not knowing what could be wrong this time, I thought that maybe he wanted to go to the bathroom, as he seemed to have been trained, unlike any other stray dogs.
... So after tearing up some magazines to serve as a bathroom for him, I went to bed, again followed by the little one who soon joined me, hiding under my blanket...
I was already halfway through the chapter that I was reading on my phone when I felt something cold touch the side of my body before I saw Fluffy under the covers, sleeping almost as if he were hugging me.
His muzzle stuck to my body as if he wanted to make sure I was there while he breathed deeply in his sleep, making me smile at that scene.
"Maybe bringing you home wasn't a bad idea after all," Smiling, I spoke to myself as I turned to caress him as he seemed to complain in his sleep, looking for me before settling down again when he felt my hand on his fur.
... Yeah...
Maybe bring him here hadn't been a bad idea after all.
