Chapter 4
Dinner that night was another awkward affair, but at least Jeanine had gone home. Instead, Cole had to deal with his aunt Katherine’s many questions, most of which were about his relationship with Daniel.
“How long have you two been together?”
“Have you ever thought about adopting kids?”
“I take it you’re the man of the relationship, Cole?”
With that last question, Cole had to once again remind himself that he wasn’t going to smile and nod through everything simply to get back into his family’s good graces. He was allowed to call bullshit when it came up, and so he did. “We’re both the man in the relationship. That’s kinda how being gay works.”
