BRIAR’S POV
With ease, he lifts me to my feet. I notice the two guards meant to be watching over me are deep in sleep on both sides despite the noise we’ve been making, clearly drugged by Eli.
“That was cool, wasn’t it?” he asks like an eager boy, leaning closer to me to get my reaction.
I smile. “Definitely. I have goosebumps.”
“Nice.” He celebrates with himself, raising a fist in the air and letting out a shout of victory, another silly antic that makes me laugh. Laughing with him feels so easy.
“I will leave you now, madam.” He takes a bow, kissing the back of my hand. “I have to get back before Tavian figures out what I’m up to. Enjoy your freedom for tonight.”
