Chapter 3: Alpha king

Scarlett's POV (edited)

A huge surge of power ran through our veins as we all kneeled. We could feel the Alpha king's arrival from here, even though he's still meters away, until suddenly I smelt the most amazing smell in my entire life. It was a mix of strawberry, lemon and cinnamon. I wanted to stand up and look for my mate as a happy grin formed on my face. The smell was getting stronger and stronger as we heard the footsteps of many people hitting the wet grass. Maybe my mate was a warrior at the royal palace.

"I am smelling the most amazing smell in my life." Lynn said from beside me.

"Me too." I gave her a confused look.

"That's strange." She muttered. Suddenly the footsteps stopped.

"Stand up." A rough voice said and I shivered. The voice held so much power that I found it hard to look up. "I said stand up." The voice was getting angrier and I stood up, to meet forest green eyes. As I looked into the person's eyes, one word left my mouth.

"Mate." I said as I took a step back. I looked at the man's face and he took my breath away.

Well totally cliché but he was deadly gorgeous. He was the kind of handsome that got into my bones, that spoke to me of olden times before he uttered a word.

The man had green eyes that could captivate your soul. He has bristly eyebrows that perfected his face. His nose is pointed. He has defined cheekbones, and a concrete jaw. His full red lips were inviting to be kissed. He was at least 6'5. broad shoulders, he had muscles but trim built.

Suddenly I realized that I was checking him out in front of my pack warriors and the Blue Moon pack members. I turned bright red as I looked around me and then looked at my mate again.

"What's your name?" His voice was full of power, yet no trace of emotion was shown in it. His tone was deadly.

"Scarlett Harden." I tried to say in a strong voice. "And you are?" I asked him back.

"Follow me." He said smirking. I looked around confused as to where is the alpha king until it hit me. The power that seemed to suddenly embrace my whole body. The way everyone was looking at him while bowing. The warriors that surrounded him.

"What the hell!" I screamed.

Every single one was on edge trying to pounce on me and kill me. But the Alpha king raised his hand and stopped them.

"Benjamin take the Blue moon pack warriors to the house they are staying in and let them rest today." The Alpha king ordered and no one dared saying anything.

"Yes alpha!" A tall blonde man, replied and took a step towards my friends.

They stood up, not making eye contact with the alpha king.

"Scarlett I don't want to leave you alone." Lynn whispered looking at the floor.

"It's okay just go." I whispered back.

"okay." She reluctantly left following everyone. I saw Megan giving me a worried look. When our eyes met she gave me one of her rarest sad smiles.

"Bring her to me." The alpha ordered and someone held me by my elbow and dragged me to god knows where.

"I can walk by myself." I rolled my eyes, but this guy tightened his hold on me.

We neared a two-story house. It was huge, surrounded by a garden. Everyone was walking silently as we followed the alpha king. A small screen appeared when we neared the door. It scanned the alpha's face and a bright green light illuminated the door, as it unlocked.

"Leave us." The guy holding me left me and the others left as the alpha entered the house.

The inside was glorious. I'm sure it was worth millions of dollars. I examined the inside with aw as he led me to somewhere.

I don't know if I should be afraid that I'm in the presence of the most ruthless and cold hearted alpha, not to mention, the alpha king who happens to be my mate.

Shit!

The alpha king is my mate!

"Alpha-"

"Jacob." He stopped me.

"What?" I looked at him confused.

"Call me Jacob." He said and I swooned every time I hear his voice.

"Jacob where are we going?" I asked him since we were walking in the long hallways for ages now.

"We must talk. In private." Still, his voice held no trace of emotion.

We stopped in front of a big mahogany door. Again there was a pad on the wall and he pinched some numbers. The door opened and he waited for me to enter.

"Sit down."

We were in a big office. It was classy, with grey walls and the amazing furniture. I sat on a leather sofa that felt like I'm floating.

"What's your name mate?" He asked me and I remembered that I did answer his question previously, so why was he asking again. I internally rolled my eyes.

"Scarlett Haden Alpha." He shot me a look. "I mean Jacob." He looked satisfied.

"I've been waiting for you mate." He smirked.

"Me too." I whispered. He stood up and approached me. He grabbed me by my waist and his amazing smell engulfed me as I took a deep breath to savor it.

"You smell heavenly." He whispered in my ear and I shivered.

His eyes zoned out as he was mind linking someone.

"It seems like finally we have a beta female." He said.

"Really? Is she from my pack?" I tried to ignore the tingling and the sparks that shoot all over my body from his hand.

"Yes." He replied. "Are you a white wolf?" My heart started beating faster and the breath was knocked out of my body.

"W-what?" I stuttered and left his embrace as I looked at him, and took a step back.

"My question is clear Scarlett." My name rolled perfectly from his mouth and I wanted to kiss his full lips but fought the urge.

"I-"

"You can trust me." He said with a hard expression.

"Alpha." Someone was knocking urgently at the door and I sighed in relief.

Jacob opened the door and a tall man entered the room. He looked at me with his brown eyes and smirked. He was the same blonde guy.

"Luna." He bowed.

"Please call me Scarlett." I said uncomfortable to be called Luna.

"What's the matter Sebastian?" Jacob asked.

"The warriors of the Moon Stone pack were attacked by rogues." He said his face serious.

"What?" Jacob's Growled. "Scarlett stay here until I come back."

They both left and I was now alone. I decided to go see Lynn since I don't know what to do alone and I left the mansion. Jacob shifted into his wolf and my heart stopped beating.

He's a black wolf.
