Scarlett's POV (edited) "I am out of breath." I said trying to regain my breath. "Already? We didn't begin the hard part yet." Jacob smirked and I wanted to slap that smirk off his face. Jacob had already took off his shirt, which was making the whole female population drool. Including me. He was making me train as double as the others. I was exhausted and can't wait to sleep. It was a tough day. "Hard? I am training as hard as all the others." I scowled. "Hey alpha!" A couple of females said passing by us. Although they didn't look at his face. No one can look him in the eyes. Except, well, me. Jacob nodded knowing they probably would miss it. I smirked. I wasn't the jealous type for just a passing hey. "I am sure I will never train anyone next year." He said under his breath. "Yeah it gets boring." I replied stifling my laugh. "No because you will not be in the trainings next year." He smirked. I blushed and looked at Lynn training with Sebastian. "I'll be back." He said leaving me alone. I watched his retreating back as his muscles flexed under the sun. "I never knew the alpha king was this hot." One girl said from behind me. I looked at her, she was standing with 2 other females. "I know right? We are so lucky that this year he showed up for the trainings." The blonde one said. "Yeah he is training with one girl. I heard she is his mate." The brunette giggled. "He doesn't have a mate." The blonde frowned. "Everyone has a mate." The third one said. "No he does not." The blonde yelled. I looked at her in surprise. What was her deal? She does seem like she is jealous of Jacob having a mate. 'Let me give that b***h a piece of my mind.' Cassie said trying to take control. 'Cassie relax. It's not like she'll get him.' I told her. 'Still! She can't talk that way like she's his mate. We are!' She growled and I tried to control her. 'Cassie enough.' I growled at her. "Talking to Cassie?" Lynn asked trying to regain her breath. "Yeah. Jealousy doesn't suites her." I rolled my eyes. "She's a-" she stopped and looked around. "White wolf." She whispered. "Your point is?" I asked bored. "She's triggered easily. She's strong and powerful. You should be careful with her." She said. I looked at her in disbelief. "How do you know all these things?" I raised an eyebrow. "Did lots of researches. Figured I might be a you know what." She winked. "Ah yes. Since your grandma was one." She nodded. "Exactly. Thank god I am not." She sighed in relief. "Why?" "Sebastian is a black wolf too." She shrugged and I nodded. "True. Well not all of us are lucky." I said. "Oh shoot. Forgot about you." She seemed to be thinking about something. "What if no one knew you were a white wolf." "What do you mean?" I looked at her confused. "What if you keep it a secret until you die. You know, don't fulfill the prophecy. Live happily." She had a huge grin. "You know I can't. One way or another I'll be exposed. I can't use the magic powder forever." I told her. "What if one of my daughters is a white wolf? Would I risk her?" "True. You are right. It was just a thought that crossed my mind." She said. "It's okay Lynn. I know you want what's best for me, but I guess I am not willing to sacrifice someone else." I hugged her with gratitude and she returned it. "I want everyone to gather here!" A powerful voice said and instantly everyone headed towards where Jacob was standing. "Alpha everyone is ready!" Sebastian said standing next to Jacob. "Good. A witch is going to help is train. In order to be able to detect a shapeshifter, we are going to need to confront one. That's why Amanda will cast a spell and a shapeshifter will be born. Don't worry they are harmless. All you need to do is be able to detect their scent, and learn how to fight them. Good luck." He said as a woman with long white hair took his place. She said something that I couldn't catch and slowly the shapeshifters rose. They started transforming into people we know and at the far end I could see myself. I shivered just looking at them as fear consumed me. "Scarlett!" Lynn screamed running towards me. "That's awful." I said. "I know right." She sounds breathless. "Come on we must fight." She ran and disappeared in the fighting warriors and shapeshifters. "Scarlett, come." Lynn reappeared and urged me. "I am coming." I said following her. I looked in the corner of my eye and saw... Lynn? She was trying to regain her breath. "Come on." Both Lynns said. I looked between them trying to know which one is the real Lynn and which one is the shapeshifter. "I don't know which one of you is the real Lynn." I yelled in frustration. "I am." Both of them said. "What's my wolf's name?" I asked. Lynn to my right smirked while the Lynn to my left looked like she'll s**t her pants. "Cassie." Lynn to my right said and I nodded at her. She got the message and we both jumped on Lynn to my left. "Bitch." Lynn yelled punching her. I focused on her scent and a hideous scent that reminded me of death hit my nostrils. "Do you smell this awful smell?" I asked Lynn and she nodded. "Really Scarlett? I arranged all this training and you end up asking a question to catch the shapeshifter." Jacob said shaking his head. "What? That was the first thing that popped in my head." I shrugged. "Unbelievable." Jacob said, his expression remained cold, but I could see the amusement in his eyes. We stood there looking at each other. My heartbeats were going crazy and the mate bond seemed to be growing. I just couldn't take my eyes off him. He was like a d**g to me and I needed him to survive. He slowly approached me and stood with me. He put his hand on my cheek and caressed it tenderly. I closed my eyes as tingles shot in my cheek. I wanted to kiss him. Scratch that. I need to kiss him. I started leaning in and he did the same. Our lips were inches apart. One move and they'll meet. Until we were cut off but Jacob slamming his fist in the face of Sebastian. Or I guess the shapeshifter who shifted as Sebastian. "I think I have to go back to training." I said blushing and turning around. Jacob remained silent and watched me blending in the crowd. I stood in the middle of the fight and my eyes catch Darcy. I tried to identify if it's a shapeshifter, and indeed it was. I jumped on her and we both fell on the ground. I started hitting her face and elbow her on her stomach. It was trying to defend itself, but I was stronger. I let go of my anger on it, as I kept hitting it. I put my hand on its neck and with one movement I snapped it. The shapeshifter transformed into a hideous black creature, laying on the floor. Dead. I felt satisfied and turned to find more, but suddenly all the shapeshifters disappeared. I wasn't even finished yet. I groaned and looked at Jacob. I didn't find him anywhere. After a while I gave up. "That was fun." Megan said. "Indeed. Now that would be more fun if we actually kill real shapeshifters." I said with a gleam in my eyes. "True! But I enjoyed hitting Cynthia." She laughed. Cynthia was a b***h of our pack too. But that girl didn't mind who she slept with as long as she felt satisfied. Which disgusted me. She even tried to sleep with Cole. That's why Megan hates her. "I enjoyed killing Darcy." I smirked and she laughed. "This shapeshifter thing is my favorite part of the trainings now." She said between her laughter and I nodded in agreement. "Trainings over! Go to your rooms and rest. Tomorrow trainings begin at 5 in the morning. Be ready." Sebastian announced and we all groaned.
