"Didn't you just say you've seen this disease lots of times before and that it's easy to treat? If anything happens to my grandfather, I'll kill you!" Audrey grabbed Henry's collar, her eyes blazing with anger.
Henry was flustered. He knew all too well that the Nolan family was the most powerful conglomerate in the city, and crossing them meant he would die a horrible death. With no solution in mind, he thought of Justin. 'If that guy had the nerve to challenge me, he might know how to save Mr. Nolan. I should let him try, and if things go wrong, I can shift the blame to him for a medical mishap.'
With this in mind, Henry suggested quickly, "Ms. Nolan, how about asking that young man who just left? Maybe he has a solution!"
Audrey's eyes widened at Henry's words. Noticing his evasive gaze, she realized he was trying to shift the blame. But with no other options, she decided to turn to Justin for help.
Hastily exiting the ward, Audrey found Justin smoking casually in the hallway. She pleaded with him, "Mr. Miller, please help my grandpa!"
"Oh, so now you believe I can save him?" Justin turned with a smirk.
Audrey hesitated for a moment. 'I'm not sure if Justin can really save my grandfather, but since Henry can't help him, I might as well let Justin try. Maybe Grandpa still has a chance of surviving.'
With this thought, Audrey pleaded humbly again, "Please, Mr. Miller, I'll do anything in gratitude if you can help my grandfather!"
Seeing Audrey's worried look and the tears lingering in her eyes, Justin recalled how Cillian had helped him during college. He decided to stop making things difficult for her, put out his cigarette, and headed into the ward.
Inside, Henry was sweating profusely. Upon seeing Justin, he rushed over, his previous arrogance gone. He grasped Justin's hand, saying, "I'm so glad you're here, sir. I was foolish before. Please save Mr. Nolan!"
Justin gave him a cool glance and replied, "Aren't you a cardiopulmonary specialist? Why are you asking for my help now?"
"I was wrong, I admit it. I acted without fully understanding Mr. Nolan's condition. Please lend a hand, sir!" Henry pleaded, willing to swallow his pride for the sake of saving himself.
"Alright, step back and let me do my work." Justin gestured for them to move aside, then rolled up his sleeves and extended his right hand, channeling his energy through the Almighty Technique. Instantly, a soft glow flowed over Cillian's chest. As the energy reached Cillian's heart and lungs, his complexion went back to normal, his eyelashes fluttered, and he started to breathe steadily.
Audrey was amazed by the technique's uniqueness. Without any medication or needles, Justin had cured her grandfather in an instant.
Henry was so shocked that he knelt down, exclaiming, "You must be a miracle doctor! Please, let me be your student!"
Justin pulled back his hand slowly, not exactly clear on what Henry meant. A bit worn out from the energy he used to treat Cillian, Justin didn't give him much attention.
Audrey's eyes widened in surprise as she asked, "Henry, what are you doing?"
"Mr. Miller just used some kind of mystical energy from the East to save Mr. Nolan. I've only seen something like this once before, performed by a mysterious elder at Meriland's top medical school. He used it to heal Mr. President. Only someone extraordinary can use such a miraculous technique. Sir, you must be a miracle doctor. Please, let me be your student!"
Henry's awe stemmed from that earlier experience, and he believed that Justin had learned this technique from the mysterious elder. With the thought, he knelt before Justin and kowtowed to him, which was an Eastern rite of accepting a student..
Regret filled Henry as he recalled how he had underestimated Justin earlier, assuming Justin was no match for him in terms of medical skills. He found out the hard way that Justin was the true medical expert here, while he himself was a piece of s**t.
Hearing Henry's explanation, Audrey found herself viewing Justin in a new light. Anyone Henry spoke so highly of must have extraordinary medical skills.
In Audrey's view, although Henry had failed to treat her grandfather this time, his medical expertise was undeniable. He, a well-known cardiopulmonary specialist in Riverwood, had healed many severe cardiopulmonary diseases and boasted a certain reputation and standing. She also blamed herself for her previous prejudice against Justin, which had worsened her grandfather's condition.
Henry reassured her, saying, "Ms. Nolan, don't worry. With Mr. Miller's help, Mr. Nolan will definitely be fine!"
Audrey looked at Justin again, her eyes now reflecting admiration. She approached him respectfully and said, "Justin, thank you for saving my grandfather!"
"Don't relax just yet. Your grandfather's been exposed to a slow-acting poison. What I've done will only suppress it for now. If the poison isn't fully cleared from his system in time, he might only have three months left," Justin stated seriously, giving her a clear picture of Cillian's condition.
