Before Jax even entered the main hall, he could already hear various shouts coming from behind the door.
And the moment he finally passed through, the sight that met his eyes infuriated him.
He witnessed the Envoy officials, who his father had sent to coronate him, slapping one of his subjects.
His fists clenched in anger, but he quickly released them, sighing as he tried to suppress the anger brewing inside him.
Seeing this, Alicia knew Jax was already seething with rage.
In the few days she had spent with this new version of her husband, she had come to realize that his anger no longer manifested in loud outbursts.
He was now more like a silent bomb, ready to explode when least expected.
And these officials had unknowingly triggered him; it was only a matter of time before the explosion occurred.
“What the f**k do you think you are doing?!”
Jax demanded, his voice filled with controlled fury as he enunciated each word with deliberate pauses.
Though he wasn’t shouting, his Qi carried his voice to every corner of the room, making everyone acutely aware of his presence.
Finally noticing the person who had just entered, the officials realized that he bore a striking resemblance to their king.
Yet, they continued to play the fool, as they were initially sent here to toy with Jax.
There had been a request from one of the King’s children, who had recently become the a Tier 2 warrior and seems to be on the be on the brink of raising his kingdom to Tier 2, he had made a special request to them in order to make things difficult for Jax.
“And who might you be?” one of the officials, who was groping a young maid servant, asked, intending to further provoke Jax.
Jax looked at them and realized they had no respect for him.
Their faces were filled with disdain and their words were extremely rude, fueling his anger even more.
“I can see that you have a death wish, Take your hands off her and stop molesting my subjects, or you will all regret my wrath,” Jax warned.
“And what can you do to us, you bastard?” another official sneered.
And that was the final straw that shattered Jax’s tolerance.
The officials had conducted their investigations before coming here.
They had heard that Jax was the king’s illegitimate son, sent to live out the rest of his life in mediocrity.
Given that this region was low on resources, they didn’t expect much.
But upon arriving and seeing the few well-constructed buildings and the impressive appearance of Jax’s palace, greed took hold of them.
They deviated from their initial plan and acted out of greed.
Plus, one of the King’s legitimate children, who had already wanted to deal with Jax had their backs.
So They saw no reason to show him any leniency.
They made a small mistake, however.
Upon their arrival, they encountered a hundred barbarian soldiers and couldn’t sense any Qi from them.
So They assumed that these soldiers were merely slightly stronger humans that Jax had enlisted.
They even laughed at his inability to hire or gain the loyalty of Tier 1 warriors.
In their eyes, Jax was already the worst king of a Tier 1 kingdom.
They brought about two hundred Tier 1 warriors, along with a captain who had reached the Tier 2 warrior realm, feeling assured of their ability to bully Jax.
They believed that if anything went out of place, they had the advantage to bully the king and make him bend to their will by displaying their powers.
They were sure that Jax wouldn’t want to make any more enemies.
However, Jax’s anger and behaviour proved to be different from the timid king they were expecting.
Jax unsheathed his sword and directed his gaze at the five officials.
Two of them continued to act arrogantly, while the remaining three sat back and watched, as if they were testing Jax and waiting to see how he would resolve the situation, or if he would bend to their will.
To those three officials, the other two were test subjects.
Swing! Swing!
“Ah! My hands... My hands... You demon, you cut off my hands!” cried the official who had been inappropriately touching his subject’s breasts, his left hand cleanly severed.
And at the other end of the room, Jax could be seen calmly cleaning the blood off his sword.
The officials’ bodies turned cold as they caught sight of the icy expression on his face.
He didn’t resemble someone who had just severed a man’s hand.
Even Jax himself didn’t fully comprehend the state he had entered at that moment.
All he knew was that he had been consumed by an intense anger and had channelled an incredible amount of Qi into his feet, granting him an extraordinary burst of speed as he dashed towards the official and removed his hand.
“You! Who do you think you are, cutting off the hand of an official under the command of King Jayden, your own father? Are you attempting treason?” the official who had earlier insulted Jax as a bastard taunted, while pointing a shaky finger at him.
Jax lunged towards him, causing fear to grip the official.
However, he was more prepared than his companion, swiftly drawing his own sword and coating it with Qi in an effort to block Jax’s attack and present himself as a formidable opponent.
But the moment their swords clashed, the official’s weapon shattered upon impact, rendering his preparations futile and appearing rather foolish.
“I-It’s... impossible,” the official stammered in shock.
Yet, it was too late to halt the course of events as Jax’s sword swiftly moved, severing the official’s head.
“A small figure like you dared to frame me with treason, Are you not ashamed of yourself?!” Jax’s words were laced with disdain.
The previously handless official trembled with fear as he witnessed Jax’s merciless actions.
He couldn’t help but feel fortunate that he had only lost a hand.
In that moment, he realized that this king was nothing like a nobleman; he was a brute, a savage who did what he deemed right.
For Jax, beheading the official who had pushed his patience beyond its limits was a display of power.
He looked down at his trembling hand, not out of fear, but with an exhilaration building within him.
Jax had always yearned to test his strength against another Tier 1 warrior.
In his desire to gauge his own power, Jax had knowingly utilized his Qi energy in the clash with the official.
This confirmed that he had indeed stepped into the realm of Tier 1 warriors, capable of defeating numerous ordinary soldiers single-handedly.
Despite the official overweight physique, the official couldn’t withstand even a single strike from Jax.
Though he may have been a corrupt individual who had never fought for the empire, and also paled in comparison to the soldiers who shed blood and fought tirelessly for their kingdom.
Yet, the fact that Jax had easily overcome a Tier 1 warrior only added to his surging confidence in that moment.
To him Tier 1 was Tier 1, and his victory further solidified his belief in his own abilities.
“Now, if there are no more imbeciles, can we proceed with the coronation process?, I desire to bring this to a swift conclusion,”
Jax declared, turning his attention towards the corrupt officials.
Each time his gaze passed over them, an involuntary shiver ran down their spines, and Jax’s confidence continued to grow.
