CHAPTER 17: THE DUAL ELEMENT CONTROLLER

They walked on the busy street of the Night Market while glancing at different shops and stalls. Yin's eyes got bigger while looking at the items he was not familiar with. "There are a lot of magical things here!" He pointed at one of the stalls on the street selling love potions. The stall is covered in red linen with a huge table also covered in red fabric, and a Love Potion written in neon red is flashing on the black billboard. "Should I buy one?" he asked himself silently, then he glanced at Czarina. He shook his head. "What am I thinking?" "This does not look like a street anywhere in the capital," Kev said while inspecting the market. "This is probably located outside the capital," Maple concluded. "That portal sent us here even though it is located elsewhere. I'm just not sure where." "Don't you think this is familiar?" Czarina asked Yin. "The walls are made of black granite and I'm sure I saw that flag before." She pointed to the flag on top of one of the shops. It has the face of a tiger and a weird-looking tree drawing on it. Yin looked up. "Right. I just can't remember where I saw that." Kev saw the flag. "No way. That's the symbol of the Mire Region. We traveled that far?!" "It's like a thousand kilometres away from the capital!" Maple exclaimed. "How can we go back?" "I'm not so sure, but we can find our way out from where we came in." Kev continued walking, scanning the shop he found interesting. "It's a weapons shop. I might be able to find the sword I have been looking for." "Let's get in, then. I will buy my own weapon, too." Yin walked ahead and entered the shop, the others followed him. "Is there such a thing as a wind sword or something?" he asked the man standing at the entrance. He looks like an employee of the shop. His eyes are blue eyes and flat nose. They could not see his mouth because it was covered with white beard and mustache. He is wearing bright red silk from his hat down to his shoes, and wearing a black vest. "All kinds of swords are here." The man stared at them from head to foot. He seems satisfied with what he is seeing. "They look rich and innocent. The shop will earn a lot from these kids. I wonder if they can handle the powers of the swords we sell." These thoughts flashed in his head. He pointed his finger inside the shop. "You may get in." "Thank you." Kev casually walked ahead. They are the only customers in the shop. He went to the displays of swords individually arranged on ten small tables at the right side of the shop. They were carefully placed on sword racks. The man who welcomed them went closer to Kev. "This sword is from the ancient times, during the war against the Nedos." He pointed at the sword with a sapphire blue stone at the center of the cross guard. It's grip is beautifully shaped for easy handling. The blade and the grip is white, and the fuller is gold. "Sword expert Orao acknowledged it, this was the sword goddess Ice used back then." "The goddess Ice, the ice phoenix controller from the Led region?!" Maple asked. She was amazed hearing those from this shop seller. "Yes, that goddess," the seller proudly said. "This is a powerful sword that an ice controller can use. It is called Zero." They all looked at Kev. "This matches your power," Czarina said. Kev held the sword and tried merging it with his power. He tried swinging it several times but nothing happened. The man from the shop laughed. "It will only respond to a powerful master. You are still young, you have a lot of years to improve." He sighed. "What the hell is wrong with every sword I touch?" He sighed deeply. "Try it." He handed it to Czarina. He started losing his patience. "But I already have a sword, the one you gave me from the Treasury, and I am a fire controller," She said, declining to buy the sword, but her eyes were fixed on it. She can hear the sword's sound calling her. "But it is calling me." She can still hear the tingling music of the sword, she is being hypnotized to hold it. "That was a fire sword." Kev placed his finger on his chin. "Don't you have ice power? Hmm... but no. It's rare to have dual elemental powers. One in a million. Just try it though. I can't use it so probably a different elemental controller could try it." Czarina paused. She was also wondering why would an ice sword pick her as the new owner of it? "H-how much is this?" She pointed at the sword. "It's a three million zaris bill," the man replied. She was shocked upon hearing the price. "Can I try it without buying it?" "Go ahead, if you can use it," the man replied. "If you can make it work, I will give it to you." "Really?" Czarina held the sword and concentrated to merge her power in it. She felt hot and cold at the same time. It was a strange feeling. She is used to having a hot feeling because of her fire power, but this hot and cold feeling is unfamiliar to her. She heard the loud sound from the sword, and she felt it was trying to suck her energy. The sword blade shone brightly, and formed an ice energy. It is smoking because of the zero temperature. "You are a dual element controller?!" everyone said in shock. Czarina could not believe either while staring at the cold blade of the sword. "This power is from me?" she asked shockingly. The store employee ran towards the door and closed it. "Miss," the store employee called her attention. "Do not display your dual powers anywhere. Anyone with bad intentions could use you for their own benefits. You can take the sword as my gift, and I will keep your secret in the four corners of this shop."‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎
