CHAPTER 18: THE WIND SWORD

Czarina got frightened on what she heard from the man. "W-why should I keep it a secret? Is it something bad? Am I a threat to the kingdom?"
The old man placed his hands behind him and walked slowly. "The only important things in our kingdom are wealth, power and position; nothing else. If anyone with bad intentions finds out about you being a dual element controller, they will take interest in you and use you to take over the kingdom." He shook his head slowly. "That was exactly what happened during the Nedos war. God Zao had a child with dual elements, which gave him the courage to fight against the royals and gods to take over the throne. You also pose a threat to the heir of the throne because you are stronger than him or her." He glanced at Kev.
"I have no intention to take the throne, don't worry. But, first, why do you know so much about the past?" Kev asked suspiciously.
"You will never know these things and speak casually if you have not seen it personally. Only the royal family holds this delicate information for the security of the kingdom."
The old man's body released a bright light energy, and transformed into a young-looking man in a royal blue silk coat and black pants. "I am Kenjie, the lightning dragon master." he raised his hand and released energy, and a huge shining blue shadow of a lightning dragon appeared behind him. His beard and mustache are gone.
"No freaking way!" Czarina's jaw dropped. She rubbed her eyes using her hands. Yin slaps his own face to wake up, but he is really seeing the lighting of the immortal god Kenjie.
"This is my first time seeing you personally after so many years." Kev removed his mask.
"Prince Kev?" Kenjie gave him a puzzled look. "What are you doing here?"
"That is exactly the same question I want to ask." He waited for the immortal god to explain. "You haven't visited the palace for some time. My Master Orao has been looking for you."
"I just want to live a normal life for the time being, and see if I could find heirs of these powerful weapons in this generation, then I found this Night Market." He glanced at Czarina. "I think I found one."
"T-thank you. Are you sure I can keep this sword?" Czarina asked. "It's expensive."
Kenjie nodded. "You can keep it, and I will personally train you."
"Y-you will?" She still can not believe what is happening. Her eyes are still open. "I-it is my pleasure, Master Kenjie." She bowed to give respect to her new master.
"I want to know why you are here," he asked. "This is a dangerous place for you, especially you, Prince Kev."
"We are looking for the green pearl of a hundred-year old beast," Kev replied. "How about you?"
"I have been investigating this illegal market for over twenty years. I had no idea how to get in, or how to penetrate without being noticed." He switched back to an old man in red, covered in beard and mustache. "I was able to get in through connections with some sellers here, and I have been here for two years now. I have not found any clue on who started this market, who is behind this illegal trade and if they have a backer in the palace."
Kev's forehead wrinkled. "You mean..."
"There is someone in the palace who is connected with this illegal trade. If not, how can they set up a portal from the capital?" Master Kenjie cleared his throat. "Also, I need to find Ice."
"Ice?" Kev repeated the name. "Immortal goddess Ice, the ice phoenix controller?"
"She's been missing?" Czarina can't believe most of the immortal spirit beast masters could be gone and missing that easily. They are the foundation of the kingdom.
"She is my fiance. The last communication we had was six months. We are together in this mission of investigating the illegal trade."
He lowered his head. "I can't find her."
"Can we help?" Czarina asked. "I am willing to help."
"Thank you, little one." He smiled but it did not reflect in his eyes. "I need help in any way I can get to find her." he paused for a few seconds. "I'm sorry, what are your names?"
"I am Czarina and this is Yin, my childhood friend from Vatra Region. Of course, Prince Kev, and she is Maple, General Chao's daughter."
"General Hao?" He seems so amazed upon hearing the general's name. "How is he doing?"
"He is in the capital," Maple replied. "Investigating renegade Nedos in town."
"Right, I heard about what happened in the capital recently." He looked around the shop. "Please, find the weapons you think might suit you." He walked towards the second sword. "This is a wind spirit sword. It has its own spirit beast. Anyone who can control this sword, can control the battle."
Yin's eyes were fixed to the sword. It has a unique design. It looks like it is made of fiberglass. The blade is so thin, and it is translucent. He touched the blade, and his finger just penetrated. "I can't touch the blade."
"It is a wind sword. The blade is almost naked to the eye, and it is intangible unless it can master command of it." He glanced at each one of them. "Who is a wind master among you?"
Yin raised his hand. "I am."
"Try it, then." He gestured to Yin to pick up the sword.
He slowly went closer to the table where the sword is displayed, then he picked it up while his hands were shaking. "T-this is the first time I am going to hold a very valuable and powerful sword."
He held the grip using his both hands, the tip of the blade is pointed upward. He closed his eyes and concentrated to let his energy flow towards the sword. It responded enthusiastically, it let out a strong wind energy that made everyone in the room cover their faces.
"Control it!" Master Kenjie shouted. "Make the sword work for you, not the other way around!"
