The lady server in red cheongsam brought the food they ordered. Another two lady servers in white cheongsam assisted her because they ordered a lot of food for dinner. They placed the food on the table one by one, and Yin's eyes became wider while looking at the food in front of him.
Czarina and Yin enjoyed the extravagant meals they have never experienced in their home town. Braised turkey, vegetable dishes, gourmet fish, grilled beef, chocolate cake slice, raspberry cake, salads---all of these are on their table. They also have a pitcher of grape juice.
"I won't be able to eat for three days after finishing all of these!" Yin explained. He took a bite on a chicken leg.
"Eat slowly, you might get indigestion later," Kev reminded him. "By the way, where did you come from?"
Yin chewed the chicken meat first and drank his grape juice before speaking. "We came from Vatra, a small county in the northern part of Fantazija. We're Vatran citizens. We grew up in the same community."
"That was too far from here!" Kev said in shock. "How did you come here?"
"By foot," Czarina said without hesitation.
"What? You walked from Vatra to Zariste Capital?!" he said again in shock. "How long did it take you to walk that far?"
Czarina and Yin glanced at each other. "Around three days? It's normal. Most Vatran just walk from our village to the capital, back and forth."
"Where did you sleep at night?" Kev was so amazed hearing their story.
"I cheated, of course. My power is the wind element. I can float and fly." He grinned.
"Yeah, you let a girl walk all by herself the whole time." Czarina rolled her eyes.
"I used my power to you from time to time," Yin said in defense. "Don't make me look like I'm selfish."
"Let me float for almost one hour for the entire trip," she complained.
"That's the most I can do with the little power I have." Yin scratched his head.
"What made you come here and study?" Kev cut them off to avoid more arguments between them.
"It's been a long time dream of Vatran people to produce a Spirit Beast Master or probably a Royal Master from our Region someday. We haven't had one after Master Fujin," Czarina said. "An anonymous sponsor supports me financially here, while the Vatran community supports Yin."
"That's cool! I think Master Fujin is still teaching in the academy. But what else do you know about being a Spirit Beast Master?"
"I read books about Spirit Beast Master when I was a kid, and it inspired me to become one." She opened her palm and the old book appeared in her hand. "I have had this with me since then. It's the story of the immortals against the Nedostojan more than five centuries ago."
Kev took it from Czarina and opened it. "This was the most tragic battle between immortals of all time. The Nedos' immortal god Zao was so powerful that the five major immortals needed to use all their strength combined to defeat him. Even the Nedos people are powerful enough to fight a Heavenly level Spirit Beast Master. They use black magic." He was amazed upon seeing the book. "I've been looking for this but I can't find one in the library."
"My mom kept a copy of it. I don't know if there are still other copies available around." Czarina took the book back and had it disappear. "That's why I made up my mind. I want to learn to be a Spirit Beast Master, or even a Royal Master."
"We also have school for masters in the village but the learning is slow and the resources are limited. I can't even break through to the lord level." Yin crossed his arms and shook his head. "This is a great opportunity for us to train and learn to become stronger and be useful to Fantazija."
"That battle also made the Nedostojan's entire island banned from the Capital and became an outcast from the kingdom," Kev continued.
"That must be hard for the new generation of Nedos," Czarina said. "They have nothing to do with what their ancestors did in the past."
"Shh, don't say that out loud, especially if there are people around," Kev whispered. "No one should hear you empathizing with Nedos. The descendants of those soldiers and masters who fought against that clan are still sensitive about what happened in the past."
"O-okay, I'm sorry." She covered her mouth using both hands.
A loud bang suddenly echoed the entire floor. They looked around to see who did that. The straw hat boy almost broke the table, his fist clenched and his aura was released. It was strong and intimidating.
"What's happening to him?" Czarina said.
"You know him?" Kev asked while looking at the boy.
She shook her head. "No, I just saw him during the bidding, then I saw him here coming out of the principal's office. He looks just a little older than us."
The straw hat boy calmed down, then he quickly left and walked down the stairs with heavy footsteps.
"He's probably going through something," Yin said. "Just ignore him and let's continue eating and chatting." He focused on the food on his plate and started eating again. Czarina just sighed and did what Yin said.
"Anyway, going back, you have a point with what you said earlier, Czarina, but the battle back then took thousands of peoples' lives. It won't be easy for the people to forgive their clan," Kev explained. "By the way, you know that not everyone is blessed with a Spirit Beast to master, right? Not everyone can even break through to the Lord Level, what more the Supreme Level?"
"We know, but at least we have to try," she said. Hoping her dreams won't be in vain.
"Let's do our best to be stronger, to break through to a higher level. We'll definitely learn a lot here." Kev took his utensils back and continued eating again.
