Embry

I walked out of the gym with Blair by my side, taking deep breaths as I walked I tried to calm myself, I had never lost control like that I was always able to calm my wolf but she was just too strong, it was as if I just lost all strength and ability to hold her.

“I'm so sorry, I really don't know what has gotten into my pea brain brother!” Blair apologised.

“Don't apologise for him Blair, he's a piece of s**t” I stated as I made my way into the tree line heading back to the house.

“I know I said we should kick her ass but I've never seen you like that before Em, your face, it was like you were ready to kill the both of them”

I thought about what she said for a moment, would I of hurt Kane too? My sole focus was on Barbie but what would I of done if Kane did get in the way? “ I really don't know, I wanted to get at her, but I had no control Blair, my wolf just took over like I had no say” I exhaled loudly as I heard footsteps running up behind us, Kane's scent hit me immediately.

I felt Blair release my arm she was holding onto “You have got a god damn nerve!” Blair shouted at him.

“Please Em, let me explain!” He pleaded.

I quickened my pace not wanting to even look at him right now, “She clearly doesn't want to speak to you!” I heard Blair push him back away from me.

“You've got this all wrong, please just speak to me, let me explain!” He pleaded.

I swung around to look at him, seething I shouted, “I've got it all wrong! Every person in there must have it all wrong then!” I walked up to him looking into his eyes “ I hate you for what you're doing to me right now, how you're making me feel, I knew something was going on and you promised me it wasn't like that”

“I swear to you it's not! I don't even know what I was doing in there, I would never do anything to hurt you, you know me!”

“I don't know you at all!” I shook my head at him in disgust and turned and walked away from him, leaving Blair standing alone with him. I knew she was giving him a piece of her mind but I just didn't want to hear what he had to say for himself.

Kane

I don't know how it happened, I got so caught up in the moment I was actually going to kiss her, why? I asked myself, I had no idea. It was like I really wanted her all thoughts of Embry had vanished from my mind, I had no excuse.

Seeing Em walk away from me telling me she hated me broke my soul, I could feel my wolf whimpering inside of me. I looked down at Blair who looked at me with disappointment all over her face, she had never looked at me this way before. We had always been so close, we talked about everything, I couldn't bear her hating me also.

“You need to get rid of that b***h before you lose everyone around you” She ordered and turned to walk away. “You know” She stopped keeping her back to me, “I never thought I would see our father in you but you proved me wrong today!” the words hit deep, never in my life would she ever of compared me to father. What have I done?

I turned and stormed back to the car, Lydia was standing beside it watching me, holding onto my gym bag. Obviously she caught the whole show “Get in!” I ordered. I took the bag from her taking out my mobile I put it in my pocket and discarded my bag onto the back seat. I knew what I had to do, I had to take her back to the house and try and contact her father, tell him to expect her soon, she could no longer stay here.

I got in the car starting the engine I put my foot down, thinking of how I could make this up to Embry. “What are we going to do?” She asked calmly.

“I'm going to speak to your father, tell him you will be travelling to him this afternoon” I stated, not even giving her a second glance.

“Why? She attacks me! And it's me being punished by getting sent away? She huffed, folding her arms angrily.

“That was always the plan, I have to think of Embry, what I... no, what we did was wrong, we got too close, It should never have happened”

“But it did! If we were in private who knows how far we would have gone, I know you like me Kane I can feel it!” She reached over and placed her hand on my thigh “Why would you not give us a chance, it's not frowned upon for an Alpha to have a wife and a mistress”

I picked up her hand and threw it back at her “In this pack, we are loyal to our mates, I'm sorry nothing can happen, it was a moment of weakness this morning, one that will never happen again, ok!” I spoke sharply, my Alpha tone making it obvious that I was not messing around.

“You know you show a lot of weakness when it comes to her, that's not a good thing for an Alpha, you let her speak to you like dirt, a strong Alpha would have shown her, her place. If word gets out that you're becoming weak it could be disastrous for the pack”

I slammed on my brakes as the car slid to a halt, I leaned across and grabbed ahold of her throat, “Is that a threat against me and my pack?” I growled.

She winced in pain “No, please!” she chocked, I felt bad for my sudden outburst and released her, “I'm sorry, I didn't mean that I just meant you need to be strong and have a Luna by your side who obeyed you would be more beneficial for the pack” I looked at her as she held onto her neck rubbing it better. I could see the red marks left by my hands, I wanted to soothe her, show her I didn't mean it.

I looked away, distracting myself with driving making our way back to the house, why did I feel like this? I had never wanted Lydia, she use to annoy me so much, why now was I suddenly warming up to her.

I stopped the car looking up at the house “Stay out of my family's way, especially Embry, she doesn't need this right now!” I ordered.

I heard Lydia huff as she reached for the handle, “I can handle little miss live wire”

“I mean it, Lydia! you are not going to always have someone there to protect you, Embry is not someone you want to piss off! Stay away from her!”

She rolled her eyes as she exited the vehicle, walking around she walked up the steps in front of me into the house. “I'm going for a bath!” she said as she looked back over her shoulder at me winking.

“Whatever, I'm going to be in my office, see if I can reach your father!” I walked ahead not looking back at her once I knew she was trying to tempt me.

I walked into my office closing the door behind me, I got my phone out and tried to call Victor several times but he never answered. So I sent him a msg through

Kane

It was the right thing, I knew it was, maybe the only thing I could do to save my relationship with Em.

A few hours had passed and I still hadn't heard anything back from Victor, I had enough of going through paperwork, for some strange reason I was becoming very agitated.

My wolf was on high alert suddenly coming to life in the last twenty minutes, Leaning back in my seat I stretched my arms out above my head trying to relieve some of the built-up tension I had accumulated whilst sitting here.

My mind was finding it hard to focus It was flitting between Embry and Lydia, I had given Em the space she wanted but I just wanted to go and have a talk with her. I couldn't sit here any longer and not try.

I threw my pen down onto the table and got up to leave, walking down towards the foyer I saw Ansel and Kala walk in, “where have you two been?” I asked, I hadn't seen them all day which was rare.

“Somewhere I was lucky enough not to walk in on my brother making out with some mindless w***e!” Kala spat as she walked past me.

I rolled my eyes at her and carried on walking to the kitchen “I was not making out with anyone!” I shouted back at her.

I walked in the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of whisky pouring myself a shot, leaning on the side I looked around the room as I began wracking my brains about how I was going to make this up to Embry. What was I going to say to her when I go upstairs to see her?

A shimmer of light caught my eye, It was the glass that Lydia had given me this morning with some juice in it, I walked over to it lifting it up to the light, There was only a small amount left in the bottom but what confused me was the oily like substance that was floating on top of it.

Knowing this wasn't right I placed the glass back on the side as I opened up the cupboards one by one searching for a small container, eventually, I found a small saucepot with a lid so I poured it inside and clicked the lid down.

I needed to take this to Rose and find out what it was!
