Chapter 8

That was what they were taught at a young age well mostly heard. There were other stories out there that no one would believe if they heard them but what they are what they do, there isn't a slight that they would pass along to those who wouldn't believe. Unless they have too.

As the brother's and the others showed up at Heather's place, the girls were worried about their friend. But the brother's brought some things to help to get her to wake up or whatever they could do. As they pulled up, the Dr and his son pulled up as well with Bella not far behind them. The Dr and the brother's talked while the girls were in the room with Heather.

"Why would your boyfriend come here in the first place?" Bella asked the blonde girl.

"Tyler and Heather were best friends." The blonde girl said.

"But was it due with Klaus, though." The witch had spoke.

"Who knows with Klaus. Hell he's still trying to use me for his hybrids." Elena said. "But for Kol showing up?"

"That's just weird." The blonde girl said. "But why would he lace the stakes with wolfsbane for? Heather's not a wolf, she's a shapeshifter."

"That's what we want to know as well girls." Dr Cullen has said when he came into the room with the brother's and Paul.

Carlisle went over Heather's vials. She was getting back to her breathing where she should be but she still has her fever. The brother's thought of something making Edward read their minds.

"Wait you guys think if she drinks your blood it would heal her and wake her up?" Edward asked them.

Everyone looked at the brother's then at the bronze hair vamp all confused.

"Wait how did you know that was what we were thinking?" Damon asked.

"My son, he has a gift to read minds." The dr said.

The brother's nodded. "Yes, we think it would work. Our blood heals humans." Stefan told them.

"Do what you think will help my girlfriend?" Paul said holding his imprints hand.

"We will, she is our friend as well." Damon said.

Damon vamped out of the room to the kitchen to get a cup and a knife. When he got back he gave the dr the cup then cut his wrist and let his blood drain out of him til the cup was halfway full. Once it was, the dr gave him a towel.

"So how are you gonna get that down or in her?" Paul had asked.

"Force it down her throat as good as I can." Carlisle said as he sat behind Heather leaning her against him.

As he slowly poured the blood down Heather's throat, her breathing was coming back to normal. At least what the wolves should be. Once the blood was gone, he gave Damon the cup to put it back in the kitchen. As he reset her on the bed, he checked her pulse. It was running fast for her.

"Edward hand me,"

"He's not in here?" Elena said.

The dr looked at her and saw that he and Bella were both gone.

"Can you be a dear and hand me my stethoscope please." He had asked her.

"Yes, Dr." She said as she went to his bag and grabbed what he had asked for. "Here you go Dr." She said as she handed it to him.

"Thank you," he said.

"Its Elena, by the way."

"Thank you Elena." Carlisle said then checked her breathing and heart.

Her heart was beating a little fast but her breathing was where it was supposed to be. He looked up at the boyfriend and nodded his head. Letting him know she's fine. He smiled at the Dr to let him know he was greatful for him to help them. As he leaned down to kiss her on her forehead, she woke up with a big deep breath.

"Heather, love your going to be okay." Paul told her.

"When I get my hands on him, he's dead." She had said.

She went to sit up and saw everyone was in her room. Elena and the girls got on the bed and hugged their friend. Bella came in with Edward behind her. He nodded to his father guessing they were having their own talk. Bella let go of his hand then went to her friend. The brother's walked a little closer to her bed and sat on the edge of it. Both of them running her legs.

"Welcome back to the living, kid." Damon said being an ass he was.

"What happened?" She asked looking at the brother's then to the dr.

"That we don't know my child. In all my existence, I've never knew that it worked against shapeshifters. Only werewolves and other creatures among ourselves." The dr said.

"Like vervain, hurts us vampires like wolfsbane hurts wolves. Well our kind of vampires and wolves." Stefan had said.

"Maybe because it got into your blood it can hurt y'all?" The blonde head girl said.

"Only if I could have gotten my hands on that stake. I could do some research of my own."

"Actually you can, dr. I can do a location spell on Heather's blood and find the stakes." The witch friend had said.

"They should be still on the clearing by Bella's house. One of the stakes I missed him, just got from there." Heather had said.

They all nodded. Then the dr had grabbed his phone to call two of his other children to do him that favor as the witch done her magic. As the dr and his son left their house, with the help of the one of the brother's and the witch, the others stayed behind.

Paul had left a little after the others did to let the pack know that Heather was fine. The girls all laughed enjoyed their time alone with each other. Stefan came in with some snack and drinks for them as they turned on her TV that she had in their and watched a few movies that Heather had.

"Heather," Stefan said then the girls looked at him. "Are you good here? Like are you happy here?"

It took a moment for her to think about that before she had answered him.

"Yea, for the most part. I mean its not home back where my mother," she started to say then cleared her throat. "Where my mother lived, but its homey. I mean my best friends ain't here with me, to keep me company other than my pack and Bella," she started to laugh. "But I can live with it."

After a while it was quiet, until she started to move a little bit, where she was getting antsy. She got up from her bed still in pain but slowly healing, she went to the bathroom down the hall. As she was peeing, her head started to hurt, just like everything else. As she was washing her hands, she started hearing ringing, then everything around her became so loud.

As she walked back into her room, she looked at then others as they were talking. Even though they wasn't speaking loudly but to her, it was loud.

"Guys, quiet down. Y'all are so loud." She said as she got back to her bed.

"We wasn't talking that loud." Bella said confused.

The others looked at her. Stefan walked around the bed to get a good look at Heather.

"Stefan what are you doing. Your so close and your cologne sinks." She whined a little holding a finger under her nose.

"Just look at me." He told her.

She done what he asked. He put his hands on her face. He stared into her eyes and saw a hint blood specks then her eyes changed from her pretty brown to a golden yellow color.

"He didn't. Open your mouth for me."

She opened her mouth wide and just like what Stefan was thinking was true. Her canine fangs were sticking out more than normal for a human. Like a transition vampire would be doing.

"Caroline, get Elena and Bella out of here please." Stefan said.

"Stefan, what's going on?" Heather and Elena asked at the same time as Elena got off the bed with Bella beside her.

Bella and Elena were the only two humans that was in there.

Stefan looked at the girls. "She's in transition. Klaus sent Tyler and his brother here. Kol put something else on that stake other than wolfsbane. He changed her into one of his hybrids." He said as he got his phone out and called his brother.

"Yes dear brother." Damon answered.

"We got a problem, Heather's in transition."

"What? How the hell is that impossible, brother."

As Damon was talking the others looked at him. Bonnie was looking at the stake then smelled it. Then her eyes got big.

"Damon, we got a problem." She had said.

Damon and the others looked at her.

"Let me guess, vampire hybrid blood?" He asked.

"Yea, how did you,"

"Heather's in transition right now. By us using my blood we just woke it up in her."

"Wait what?" The big buffet vampire has said.

Carlisle walked over to Damon and Bonnie. "What are you saying?"

"Kol, when he threw this at Heather it had Elena and Klaus's blood mix in with the wolfsbane. So by me giving her my blood,"

"Its changing her. What about her wolf general?"

"She's becoming a shapeshifter hybrid." Damon said. "Stefan get the girls out of there. She's not gonna be able to handle herself around them."

"I'm already on it. They just left."

"I'm gonna kill him." Damon said.

"Brother, we'll get him when we can." Stefan said then all you hear was screaming on the background. It was Heather.

"It hurts!" She yelled.

"I'm on my way." Damon told his brother then looked at the others. "Bon Bon, Ima need you to stay with the dr to get this figured out. I need to find some blood for her."

"I can get some from my office back home, if she craving human blood."

"She is. I got to go talk to the pack about this as well."

"Go, I got this."

Damon threw Bonnie his keys and took off into a run. Once he got to Last Push, he saw some of the pack members, walking out of the woods.

"Hey!" Damon yelled.

The wolves stopped and looked at Damon.

"Damon, what's up?" Sam asked.

"We got a problem and Ima need y'all to stay away from Heather's place for a few days."

"What do you mean?" Paul asked as he went to run to Heather's.

Damon vamped infront of him. "She's in transition. She's becoming a shapeshifter hybrid."

"What?" They all asked.

"A vampire/shapeshifter. To finish it she needs human blood. The dr is giving me a blood bag to give her."

"What! No!" Paul pushed passed Damon and ran inside of the house into Heather's room.

He saw Stefan holding onto Heather, rocking her. She was in pain all over and she couldn't take it.

"Heather, baby." Paul said.

"Paul, love get out. I don't want to hurt you." She told him.

"She needs blood right?" Paul asked as the others came in behind him.

"Yes, so she can live. Even though she's a shapeshifter it could kill her." Stefan said.

As everyone stood there thinking, more worried for her. Then you hear someone talking behind them. It was her father.

"What's everyone all bundle up in Heather's room." Ira had said as he made his way into her room. "What's going on?"

Damon and Paul looked at him then nodded at each other.

"Your daughter she's becoming a vampire/shapeshifter hybrid. When she was attacked, it was to turn her." Damon said.

"What?" He said.

"If its human blood she needs, take it from me." Paul has said. "We're part human."

"Paul, are you sure?" Stefan said.

He nodded and came over to where Stefan and Heather were at. Paul grabbed the knife that was left in her room and cut into his wrist. Heather jerked her head towards him and smelled the blood. As Paul stood in front of her, she looked at him then the others. Damon nodded at her.

Heather turner back to Paul then grabbed her arm. She put her mouth on his wrist and drunk some of his blood until Stefan had pushed Paul away. Damon came and pulled Paul back as Heather licked her lips. You could see her eyes change from drinking the blood.

Then Carlisle vamped in with Jasper and Emmett with him with a box of blood bags. He sat them on the dresser, making them all jump other than the brothers.

"I bought enough that could last her for a few days." Carlisle said.

"Thank you. But she drank from Paul."

"What?" Jasper said.

"He allowed it. She's busy imprint." Sam had said.

They nodded then looked at Heather.

"We can teach her how to be like us. Vegetarians, drink animal blood." Carlisle said to Ira. "We'll take full responsibility for her."

"She's still part of this pack." Ira said. "But she is part of all of us." He said then looked at the pack. "Sam company me to talk to the other elders."

"Yes, elder Ira."

"Daddy, when did you become an elder?"

"After Harry passed sweetie. Just let the brother's and the Cullen's help you. I know we told our self's to hate them, but we do have a treaty with them and your holding us both down together." Her father said then walked out.

As the rest of the pack done the same, the Cullen's look at each other before speaking again.

"Carlisle we need to tell the other's. They have a right to know." Jasper said.

"That we do, son. Just hopefully, the Volturi won't hear about this." He has said.

"The who?" Damon asked.

"The Volturi is the king of all vampires, well for us they are. They keep our laws in tack and if one of us breaks it they get involved and kill those who break them. But looks like your so called original vampires are the kings now."

"They think they are but they don't do what those do called Volturi do." Stefan said.

"I'll leave y'all to it. I'll put my number into your phone Heather. Just rest and please do what the brother's say. I'll come back to check on you in a few days to a week. Or call me if you know need help."

Heather nodded and everyone was all gone other than her friends that were visiting from her old life. The brother's kept watching over her to make sure she doesn't do much damage. As she didn't go to school the last few weeks, she did make up for her post time, when Bella or her father went and brought her, her school work.

As summer started, Ira had the extra spare room all ready for Elena and Stefan to stay with them. Damon had took the blonde head girl and the witch back home to Mystic Falls to handle what's going on there. Damon visited on the weekend or whenever he could go help poor Heather out. But with the help of Stefan and the Cullen's, she was in good hands. Stefan showed her how to compel humans. She done it on Bella one day and didn't know she was doing it until Stefan told her. He helped her with her eating habits by snacking on food or some kind of snack. But since she was a shapeshifter, she was always eating food. She was surprised that she wasn't getting fat.

While Bella and Elena was working during the summer, Stefan and Heather went over to the Cullen's. She had jumped onto a tree and jumped onto a window kinda scaring the tiny short hair vampire.

"Lord Heather, we do have a door." Alice said holding her chest, even though she doesn't have a heart beat.

"Sorry, I'm still learning my vampire side." She told her.

"Hey hybrid," Emmett said coming down the stairs. "Stefan."

"Hey," they both said.

"So since I'm still part wolf you still can't see me can you?"

"Nope, kinda wish I could do that can't happen again."

Heather and Stefan started laughing as they all went down to the living room to sit down. As they walked down there, the blonde hair girl, Rosalie was coming through the kitchen.

"Thought I smelt dog." She had said.

"Rose," Emmett said.

"No, its fine." Heather had said. "Wait? Why didn't you smell me coming?" She had asked Alice.

"I don't know. I've been distracted, trying to see Victoria and the Volturi's moves."

As they all sat and chilled watched TV and talked about whatever. Alice, Rose, and heather talked about a shopping trip while Stefan and Emmett watched a football game. Heather thought would be great. She hasn't killed anyone just yet.

As Heather and Stefan drove home, they talked about the perk for her. He was telling her she's been doing well that, she can go with the girls on their shopping trip. As they got home, Paul and Jacob was sitting on the porch with Elena and Bella as they pulled up. Heather got out and walked over to Paul and leaned in slowly and kissed him on the cheek.

For her being what she is, the imprint was still there for them. They thought since she's half vampire it would go away but it didn't. They've slowly been getting close again like before. She just doesn't want to hurt him, that's all.

"So, Stefan said since I'm getting good at this whole new vampire thing that he's allowing me to go with Alice and Rose on a shopping trip." Heather told them.

"Wait Rosalie is being nice to you?" Bella asked.

"Yea, me she likes out of all the wolves. Maybe because I'm half like her."

Bella nodded then went back to talking to Elena about work. Those two been getting close as ever now. And Heather kinda feels a little jealous over it but its fine. Those two were her bestest friends.

Stefan has been getting close with Jasper and Emmett as well. With Jasper they can relate since they both have a thing for blood like they both still new to it. Expressly when Stefan had went back to his ripper days all because of Klaus. But he's got it all under control now.

As time went on through the summer, school started back up and its their senior year. Stefan and Elena joined Heather, Bella, Edward, Alice, and Jasper for their senior year as well. Emmett and Rosalie graduated last year so it was just them. Stefan joined the football team and Elena the cheerleading team. Heather, well she took up nothing. She didn't want to hurt anyone she done extra activities. She had classes with almost every single one of them but her last class. But that was Stefan's free time so he sat outside close to that room where he could either watch her or hear her. Some of the classes she had with Jasper and she was well excited with that. He helped her calm her down some when she felt nervous or scared.

"Heather, it will be fine. I've been doing it for the last I don't know, 20 years or more." He has whispered to her.

"I don't know how you guys can do it. Going to school and graduating over and over each town y'all go to." She has told him.

"Carlisle wants us to blend in so it helps."

"Gotcha." She said as she went back to her note taking for her class.

She had history, one of her worst classes. But with the help of the Cullen's and Stefan and Damon she was in good hands.

They all helped her with everything. The eating/drinking, to being around others to compelling others when needed. Even though she didn't ask for this type of life but she was glad to have the best friends she could ever ask for.

Even her own father and pack was okay with the idea of her being what she was. The elders were a little scared about it but since she's been good, they've been alright by her. Leah still talks to her but not as much though. Other than her little brother, Seth. They became close over the summer.

Only life will know what will go on with Heather. Only time can foresee the future. Only the known will know what happens. But it doesn't stop her from doing what she loves to do. She just goes slow by it. Time after time.

Well that was a twist on the storyline. Who knew that Klaus would have a plan with Heather? Who knew that a shapeshifter can be turned into a vampire? Who knew right?

Just hope everyone is liking it so far. I can not wait for the Newborn army and see how that fight goes. Will both vamps be unstoppable? Will Heather be able to do what she does best to keep her friends safe?
