Chapter 4

2625 Words
I arrived at school the next day with a sigh. The weather was a lot better today, being just gloomy and all that. I got off my car, frowning down at my blue starbucks cup since I shattered my pink one. I blew out a breath, closing my door. I smelled him before I saw him. There he was across the parking lot with all his heavenly scent and god given gorgeousness, surrounded by his pack members. They were laughing about something until we locked eyes.   He looked so delicious I had to remember to breathe. How could something so wrong feel so right? He's an enemy. He's a mate killer. I can't possibly. He doesn't want me. He hates mates, that's why his whole pack is dedicated to killing off mates.   His eyes travelled down my body to my tight dress. It made me all conscious, like I was naked instead of having clothes as his eyes grew darker. He met my eyes once more, the look of something I couldn't decipher crossed his face.   We stared at each other like that, my heart beating rapidly. I was almost sure he could hear it from where he was standing. Suddenly, I felt someone peck my lips, making me pull my eyes away from delicious Titus.   "Castiel," I said, breathless as Cas pulled away from the kiss, a playful smile on his face.   "Morning, Babe." He whispered though I was sure Titus could hear it. Castiel wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me closer. "You smell good." He complimented.   A loud growl echoed through the parking lot, making me turn back to Titus whose eyes were pitch black with anger. His body was as rigid as a rock, unmoving and dangerous. He looked ready to kill, his eyes boring down on nothing but Castiel.   I pulled away from Castiel, suddenly pretending I was fixing something. Castiel didn't seem to notice my sudden pull away from him as he glared daggers at Titus. Titus looked like he would pounce on Castiel at any second.   I almost forgot that Castiel and Titus had bad blood with each other. Titus Cohen, the star player of the football team, and Castiel, who was also the star player in Auburn, knew each other way back.   The warning bell rang making them break off their stare down. Titus' eyes flickered to me, hurt filling his deep blue eyes before he turned to leave.   -   The parking lot seemed so much better when I entered my first class with Castiel only to find that we had the same class with Titus. The room was suddenly too small for two of the testosterone filled boys.   All of the wolves inside the room could feel the energy pulsing through the room as both boys gripped their chairs, trying to stop themselves from starting a boxing match right inside the class.   Mrs. Morris, our English teacher, walked into the room then, making me breathe out in relief knowing that the chance of having a match inside the room were lessening.   "Alright, class! I've made seating arrangements!" She said happily, her bright eyes beaming with joy. The whole room booed at the news. "Now, now everyone, stand up. I'm arranging you all alphabetically."   We all followed her reluctantly, Castiel and Titus never breaking their stare.   "Anderson." She called out, pointing at the first seat. Michael huffed, shrugging his shoulders as he made his way to the seat. "Bancroft." I had to smile at that. Michael smirked, patting the chair beside him.   I took the seat, happily facing Michael as I returned the smile.   "Cohen." I froze, suddenly feeling Titus shuffle around the chairs to take the seat beside me. I felt his eyes burning down on my back. I didn't dare turn to face him, not trusting myself with the close proximity we suddenly had.   Westhill's tables and chairs weren't like normal high schools. Instead of armchairs like normal schools, they had this one big fat table with three seats connected to each other like what science labs had.   I could smell his aftershave from where I was sitting and it made me shiver with delight. 'Calm yourself, fool.' I told my wolf who was jumping up and down.   Titus didn't stop staring even after Mrs. Morris was done sitting us down. He didn't even bother hiding the way he was looking at me and I could feel Michael's unsteadiness as his gaze flickered from Titus to the board.   I, on the other hand, glued my eyes down to the table where my fingers were clutched together, sweating themselves out. I felt him lean towards me, his scent surrounding me, making me all dizzy. His lips came close to my ear as he whispered a husky, "Nervous?"   His hot breathe tickled the side of my face as a shiver ran down my spine. Castiel's growl boomed through the room as he stood up from his chair a few rows back.   "Is something the matter, Mr. Harries?" Our teacher asked, looking at Castiel with a concerned motherly look in her eyes. Before Castiel could react, Michael pushed Titus away and pulled me closer to him, making Titus' already darkening eyes even darker. Titus definitely didn't want anyone to touch me and by the looks of it, being pulled away from him made him look like a volcano that was ready to explode. The push away was just putting salt on a wound.   Titus sprang up to his feet, Michael following right behind him. I put a hand on Titus' rock hard chest to calm him down, ignoring the live sparks that gave off through the contact. I could feel the hard toned muscles through his thin shirt and let me tell you it's like a little slice of heaven that you just want to lick- holy crap I am such a horny p*****t. It seemed to calm Titus as he looked down at me before slamming down heavily in his seat.   I retracted my hand from him only to yearn for more of the contact and how it felt so good to touch him. I sucked it up though as I tried to pull down a still standing Michael. "Michael," I hissed, making him sit down as well.   The whole class was watching us until Mrs. Morris cleared her throat and went on with her discussion. All throughout the class, though, Titus would drop his pen, deliberately making an excuse just to let our skin touch. It was infuriating, but I had to admit the thought of him wanting to touch me just as much as I did him made me feel funny in my stomach. Sparks were flying everywhere as our skinned touched for the nth time.   The bell finally rang, making me jump from my seat and run out of the room before Castiel or Michael could come and talk to me.   -   Lunch was inevitable as I walked slowly to the cafeteria. I made sure to avoid any of my friends since everyone in school were talking about one thing; Titus, Castiel and Michael. I held my breath when the noisy cafeteria suddenly went silent as they all stared at me.   I held my head up high as I picked my food. Michael appeared from behind me. "Avoiding us now, are you?" He teased.   "I'm not." I said, too fast to make it believable.   He laughed, flicking my nose. "Right."   "I'm just confused." I said after a long sigh.   "You and I both, that Titus dude is acting weird." Michael commented, grabbing a bottle of Gatorade.   I didn't answer, talking a plate of pasta from the tray.   We walked back to our table to Josh, Castiel and Savannah arguing about something.   "Suck it, Josh." Sav spat angrily, pointing her fork at Josh's face.   "I would, but you wouldn't let me." He said, sticking his tongue out.   "Josh." Cas warned, stabbing his food. He still looked angry because of first period.   "What? Cheerleading isn't a sport okay?" Josh mumbled, chewing on his burger.   They all looked up when Michael and I sat down.   "Heard you, Cassy and Titus got it on first period." Josh said, looking at Michael.   Michael shrugged. "Nothing happened."   Josh was about to retort something back when Titus strode in the cafeteria. His eyes found mine instantly, giving me a playful smirk, stirring my stomach. I looked down on my plate, still feeling his eyes on me.   Castiel stood from his chair to sit beside me, wrapping his arms around my waist, fully aware that Titus was watching every move that we made.   Not being able to resist, I looked up. Titus looked beyond angry, his dark eyes filled with hurt and betrayal. I pushed Castiel away suddenly, but by this time Titus already made his way to his group of mate killers. A red head girl threw herself at him, laughing as she gripped onto his muscled arm. To my disappointment he didn't push her away.   I felt my wolf stir at the sight, forcing myself to look away. They went on like that; the red head giggling and running her hands through Titus' messy black hair.   It was utter torture. I wanted so bad to fling myself at their table and skin that w***e alive. Finally, having enough of the sight, I pushed myself up from the table, excusing myself before running out the cafeteria.   Stupid mate killer. Stupid Titus. Stupid mate. Stupid everything. Why of all the males in this world did I have to be mated with him? Why couldn't it be Castiel? Sweet sweet Castiel? Who I know loves me more than anything in this world.   I rounded a corner when I felt a firm hand take hold of my wrist. The warmth instantly took hold of me knowing exactly who it was. "Wait." With just one word I could already feel my insides burn with how husky and deep his voice was.   I snapped my head back, meeting his blue eyes that were filled with emotions. One of them, I could tell, was guilt. "What?!" I just had about enough of him and his mixed signals.   "I'm sorry." He looked at me then like he was really sorry, as though he really did regret what he did.   I met his eyes head on, only mine were filled with loathing. "For what? For allowing that wannabe to touch you to deliberately make me jealous? Or for not even caring that I'm your mate?" Words were spilling out of my mouth involuntarily so that I couldn't stop.   He looked taken aback at first, his eyes never leaving mine. Titus' eyes suddenly hardened then. "You started it with that boy toy of yours, who by the way, is a sad excuse for a football player and a beta." He growled, jabbing his free hand to the cafeteria where Castiel probably was.   "Don't talk about Castiel like that, at least he actually cares about me." I snapped, narrowing my eyes at him. I'd be lying to myself if I said I was not loving the hold he had on my wrist.   We stared at each other like that; one glaring at the other, neither bothering to break the contact. Suddenly his eyes flickered from frustrated to playful. "You're jealous?" He said, his eyes beaming.   "Jealous? Get over yourself." I sputtered, trying to cover up my embarrassment.   He took a step closer to me, his hand still holding on to me. The close proximity making me nervous and bothered. He leaned down to my height. "You know you want me." Titus whispered, his hot breathe sending electric shocks through my body.   My eyes flickered down to his full lips, they looked so delicious. Wait. Stop. Gabi, pull yourself together. I jumped back like I was splashed with cold water. I tugged my arm back, looking down to my feet, refusing to look at his gorgeousness.   I could feel his eyes on me and I was almost positive he was smirking at me. "Gabrielle Bancroft," He started, making me look up a little. He was staring at me with amusement in his eyes. "The only child of the Blood Howlers Alpha." He continued, his smile never faltering. "Ironic, isn't it?"   "What's ironic is the fact that a mate killer actually has a mate. Should I prepare myself for the incoming death threats?" I said, looking straight in his eyes.   He looked even more amused than he already was, then suddenly his eyes turned dangerously dark. "No one will touch you."   I ignored the shiver that shook me to the core because of his words. "Really? Is that why platinum and pig face bashed my skull open?"   A low growl echoed through the halls I could almost hear some lockers shake. "You won't be seeing them anymore."   "Did you kill them, too?" I spat bitterly, crossing my arms.   Titus took a step closer to me, his eyes flaring. "Why are you acting like this? Your pack isn't so innocent."   "We don't go killing off mates to torture people!" I growled, taking a step closer as well, our faces only inches apart despite the height difference.   "Oh yeah, you just kill off the whole pack right?" He said sarcastically, looking down on me. "That's so much better."   I looked away from him, angry and frustrated and confused. Stupid moon goddess and her match making skills.   He made his way around and faced me. "I won't say sorry for the mates my packs killed. They deserve to lose their mates."   "You've been targeting my mother for years!" I exclaimed, throwing my arms up in the air.   "You've been targeting my pack for years!" He countered with equal frustration.   I clenched my jaw angrily. "Just go back to dry humping your she-wolves."   "I might just go do that since you practically have your own orgie." He sounded almost scary as he pointed out my friends.   "Look who's jealous now!" I shouted, jabbing my finger on his hard toned muscles. I had to stop my mind from wanting to feel him up in the most unlady like manner.   Titus then grabbed my arm. At first I thought he planned on breaking it or something. I hear jabbing your finger at an Alpha is one of the most disrespectful things a wolf can do so you can't blame me for conjuring that up. Instead of breaking it, though, he wrapped his hand around my small one.   The contact made angels sing, or was that only my perverted horny mind’s doing?   "I bet you don't even know what dry humping means." He whispered in my ear. I didn't. I don't know why but for some reason he sounded like he was proposing something.     Silence took over us as we just stared at each other. Our faces were so close to each other I could feel his hot breath tickling my face. His face leaned closer and to my utter surprise I leaned closer as well.   We were so close now that our noses were touching. I couldn't help myself as I stared at his lips which looked so kissable. It was literally heartbreaking that my lips weren't touching his right at that moment.   I locked eyes with him only to find that his eyes were dark with desire and longing. I felt like I couldn't breathe anymore he was so intoxicating. Did God spill a whole bottle of hotness when he was making this boy? Seriously. I now understand why Westhill worships him.   I shouldn't be doing this, yet I wanted to so bad. Just when our lips were about to meet the bell rang, making me jump back and I did something that was so utterly reasonable -- I ran for my life.
