MIA'S POV My heat had raised it beat hearing every single words of his story about that night. It was the most feared nights in our world. It was one that had shook the hard-core base which could have ended the whole wolf world. No one could still believe the way we had rebuild our strength and faith. It was the toughest times in our history where we had to live in a world without a leader. Being one of the unchangeable paces of our lives, wolfs got used to it but the worst result had happened. The discipline that once we all had was far gone. During all these years, every one among us wished the most was to take the position of the alpha of the alphas. The lycan board had gone secretive in the management of all the lycan packs yet it was able to keep a control over the situation but the competition in the matter had been going on increasing. And the worst result of all these were the effect on triumph games. The games which once signified the unity of the wolfs was now turned into a game which decided the dominance of one pack over the other. The segregation between the strong and the weak had already taken place in the games which were happening from the last 20 years were what was not manageable by the lycan board. All these made me go crazy over the curiosity to know what had happened that day in the headquarters. It was an internal secret and I had a doubt whether Dylan would share it with me. But the trust with which he had told me the story till now gave me a hope that he would tell me everything head to bottom. And it happened as I had though. He did believe in me that he began to tell the rest of the story. “she hugged me back and asked me to take a seat as she had to talk to brother Jayden about something. I nodded and quietly sat there and watched her take brother in her lap and talk to him about something. I wanted to know what were they talking about because even though brother was behaving like a robot, tears rolled down his eyes when mother talked to him. She was in her serious note and I wondered how father’s death might have affected her. After they finished their talk the betas and omegas came to them and took brother Jayden with them. When I saw them taking him away, I rushed to him and didn’t let them take him away. I badly wanted answers. They tried to separate us but I was adamant in my want to get some answers. Finally, I won in my adamancy and brother Jayden asked them to leave me as he wanted to talk to me. He took me to a corner and kneeled down holding me. “Dylan, listen to me carefully. We are wolves and we have to be the strongest when situations like this arise. Now onwards we have to be on our own. I will always be by your side kiddo but you have to survive alone in from now on. Take care of Tasha and grow up to be the strongest of us, okay” his lips curved into a tiny smile which I knew was truly fake. He was like a broken a broken piece of glass and that is when I realized that we too were going to be separated like the others. I was done with everything and only asked him one think. One thing that was to decide how we were going live the rest of our lives till we united, if such a day comes. “then tell me whom should I believe in? Uncle Carlisle’s words? Brother Zayn’s words? Or you’re your promise?” I gathered my shattered voice together and even though I tried my best, I failed to hide my shivering pain in my voice. he looked away from me as if he never wanted to answer it. But he was not so cold hearted to leave his brother alone and leave just like that. Even though we were half-brothers, he loved me just like he would have loved his own brother. He took some time and looked back at me. “I don’t know. Do what your heart says” he simply answered my question and left with them without even turning back at me. Mother came to me hugged me from behind. She was back to who she was. The serious Luna of neon bay pack. “your brother is going to a far-off place where he would receive the best training and grow up into a wolf which would be the future of our world and justice will be served to us in the right way” mother spoke to me and I still looked at the door like a ghost. Dylan finished off with his part and I was sinking in an ocean of pain feeling what he would have gone through. He had rested his back on the wall and as soon as he finished laid his hands on his eyes to rest. I felt a bit guilty to have him dig up his old painful memories to know what no one knew about. But I deserved to know it. I took a bottle of water which was in my girl roommate's table and passed it to Dylan who took it with a smile. Even when I had made him remember those times, his face didn’t even seem to be affected by it at all. “I'm sorry that I made you remember those days” I had to apologize to him but he astounded me with his reply. “don't be because I don’t care about it anymore. All my worries are far gone since he has come back” his face lit us and he was back to the Dylan he was. Who was he talking about? I wide opened my eyes and he knocked my head again and this time that was it. I was fired up with furiousness of being knocked and he hadn't anticipated that reaction of mine. He gulped down his saliva not knowing how to escape and before I through myself on him, he flew out of the room and I followed him. I let him play around with me so that he could relax and have some fun. But more than him it was I who enjoyed getting him back. We had already become the center of attraction of the arena and people to begin to have fun seeing us troll each other. All of a sudden drum began to beat and before I knew what was happening, people had gathered around us and we were in the middle of the large crowd. Dylan slipped his hands into mine not to lose me in the crowd and I let him care for me. We were in front of the flag post from where the alphas used to inaugurate the games and today non had any idea it would happen. The games had been postponed only for me to be able to participate in it and maybe they had known that I was now ready for it. The drums stopped and arrived lady Diana, the now alpha of all the 3 packs and the one was now in charge of the games. She was wearing a grey gown and looked like a witch to me for sure. She came forward to start the talk and the players who had gathered in the arena was made to stand separately with the crowd. Alpha looked down to the crowd and perfectly landed her eyes on me and Dylan and signed Dylan to take me to the player crowd and he did it. We walked to the player crowd and they all were stunned to see us holding hands. After Dylan felt we were safe from the crowd, he freed my hand and gave me a wink. I gave him a staid look and focused on the announcements. Diana cleared her voice and the face of the people gathered changed into an eagerness more like hungry beasts. “why do these people’s eyes crave something like hungry beast?” I whispered to him and he didn’t look surprised at all. ‘after the 3 packs had fallen, other packs had craving hard for the alpha position. They think that the lycan board is now in search of the strongest wolf after the disappearance of the heirs and try to make themselves shown the strongest so that they are noticed by the board. But they are not at all aware of the fact that only the heirs can become the alpha of the alphas because of the lycan tradition and it is well known to all that they were the best of all” he detailed me with it I felt contemptuous towards all the people near me. When their leaders where there, non-even dared to bring such a dark thought in their minds and now everyone had their eyes fixed on the position of being the great alpha of the alphas, a post which was decided by not only the skills and strength but the way they could influence their fellow wolf pack to go together in unity. The very word unity was extinct in their dictionary since then. “the triumph games which is a symbol of unity that we possess is celebrated in our world with utmost eagerness and enthusiasm. It's what makes us who we are and it has always been a part of our lives. Our great ancestors who had put forth a start to this game had always believed that it would keep the lycan world bonded to each other than being separated from each other. But as time passed, we had come to witness 2 of the greatest tragedies in our time which had destroyed all our beliefs and trust with one another. Both tragedies had caused us to lose the most precious lives amongst us...” Diana kept continuing and my mind was stopped at the point she mentioned 2 tragedies. The first one was caused years ago and people were still suffering because of it, but to their horror another one had happened which had killed one of the strong guards of the lady alpha and horrified the other. They were Robert and Daniel. 2 years ago, there had been a likely same fire in the east forest which had killed Robert and like the first tragedy but Daniel has escaped and was kept in protection as he was the only one who had seen the enemy, the reason was still an enigma. It passed through my mind that Dylan had told me the story to tell me what had happened in the headquarters after the fire incident 2 years ago and I reminded him about it. He kept silent and sighed me to wait for it. “now that we are again gathered together for celebrating the triumph games, I deeply wish that it would bring back the old times in our lives and ensure the unity among us is still intact. Players and watchers, I happily welcome you to the 118th triumph festival and with immense pleasure declare the games open. Let the games begin” she declared the games open and the whole of the crowds screamed in exhilaration. They hugged each other and the players raised their weapons to show their confidence. Again, the drums began its beat indicating another arrival in the dais. The drum beat made the people ponder about what it was and they began murmuring to each other. Dylan looked at me with a smirk and I narrowed my brows in question. Who was it? Why did he arrive at the last moment? Dylan came closer to my ears and told me something. “this is the answer for your question. after the fire incident 2 years ago, the headquarter had decided to bring back the lost unity and for that they had to take the biggest step of all. Senior alpha Lionel king had gone for a long trip to somewhere and when he came back, he had brought my lost happiness with him. With his arrival, the lycan board held a meeting in which mother too took part and it was decided that after the games, mother would step back from her seat and I would become the new alpha of the neon bay pack and with that he would be crowned the new alpha of the alphas” Dylan in a mysterious tone told me a secret which was only known to the board. My heart got out of control thinking about his arrival. He was the one whom the lycan world was waiting for the past 20 years. He was in hiding, the senior lycan had took him to a far off unknown place to protect him after what all had happened in the past. Rumors tell that he was trained under a secretive pack so that the only heir who was left could be saved from any other such situation. The heirs were the ones who were eligible for the position and it was the culture. They were true to their blood and the teaching they were given from birth were what made them unique from all other wolves. No that he had returned people who still believed in their leader would have hopes filled in their eyes while the hungry beasts would now have to face a new enemy to their desires. All waited for the person to step forward and reveal his face and had their eyes stuck on the dais. I was the only person among the crowd who knew who he was apart from the people on dais and Dylan. Then came forward a man with brownish black hair and a strong fit body that was visible even from such a great distance. One could easily say that he was the most handsome man in our world. To disgust me, even the hardest of female played went ‘aww' seeing him. As he stepped up, alpha Diana took the mic and I noticed that her face had a weird expression which showed neither happiness nor rage. When it was about Dylan, her face was like a mother who loved his son like her heart, but in his case, she was not so good. Was it that she had fear of his safety more than anyone?? Was he really safe coming in front of the world and claiming his rights a good decision he had taken taking in respect the state of the wolf packs?? I did have a fear about it. “Fellows, the inauguration of the games is not the only thing to be celebrated today but I am really honored to share the news that the heir of neon bay pack has come back to take his responsibilities and I would love to introduce to your heir, Jayden" she declared in her husky voice and most of the elders who were among the watchers changes into their wolf form and howled welcoming back their heir and to show them his respect Jayden too changed into his wolf form and stood pride fully made all feel his arrival. I watched the scene with a heavy heart and everything around me became faded when his mysterious eyes met mine….
