CH 12- GREATEST SHOCK OF LIFE

MIA'S POV

“Shit....do i really have to meet him" i hesitantly asked him.

“I don’t know. He hasn’t asked to meet you yet. Why did you had to lock horns with his PA Mia?” he whirled up the topic to piss me off and yes, he had succeeded in it.

“yeah, as if I knew she had taken up a new job" i hushed him and I walked of anathematizing my fate on making me meet both Tasha and Jayden in the most unexpected way spoiling most of my plans.

It was as if you took devils name and he appeared situation for me that while I was thinking whether Jayden would ask to meet or not, I was halted by a call from behind.

I turned back to the call and then the whole atmosphere around the corridor changed into a eerie one. There was utter silence surrounding us and mild breeze swayed through our faces as our eyes met again.

Stood in front of me the man I had been wishing to meet forever. Instantly I was downed in the gaze of his mysterious eyes and he into my moist ones. My eyes had never seen tears in general than what the men in my life had given me and he was one of them. I felt my heart raise its beat more and more. I stared at him and my nerves began to fire up like a volcanic eruption. Memories flickered through my eyes reminding me of my life. I never imagined I would meet him in a very odd place like the corridor.

I had fell into a trance like state. It was as if I couldn't look away from his face even if I wanted to. And then my real self gave me a reality check. Why was I staring at him like a creep? I shouldn't let him or anybody in the family affect me like this! With that thought, I dragged my gaze away from him and he picked up on that. I got curious to know whether he had felt any tiny bit of what I felt when he had met or was it simply me as I had waited for this moment from quite a long time. Oh yes, how would he feel anything? He doesn’t even know who I was!!!!

I was lost in my world of daydreaming when I felt being too close to a warm and thought body. I snapped out of my dream world and was alarmed to see Jayden standing just in front of me. I didn’t even realise that he had walked to me while I ran useless thoughts in my kind.

He was so close that his scent had a direct hit in my brain and I began to feel vulnerable and helpless in controlling myself. It had but me so strongly that I couldn’t even get to think straight in my mind on what the heck was happening to me. How could I feel so strange around him??

“Mia? Am I right?” I got to sigh a huge relief when he helped me out of my trace by asking a question and I shook my mind to concentrate on the present.

My body was numb with all those stiff never and I couldn’t even speak due to struck voice so I nodded to him.

“follow me” he simply ordered and walked past me and I did as he ordered like a puppet. What was I going to face now!!!

We walked directly into his room and I saw the sealed door which blew my mind. I was a completely modern door with security locks and all and I began to look forward to see the present condition of the room which was once a home for 3 crazy kids.

He was about to enter the security code when he looked at me to see if I was feeling in and as I noticed his look, turned away my face from the lock. It was just a matter to time for me to go into another state if trance when I saw what was inside the room. The four which was a high technology based on was simply a cover for a room which was exactly how it was 20 years ago.

The same interiors, colour, fashion, things and most importantly, the smell. World had never been beautiful than what 3 kids saw inside the room. My eyes teared up and before he could see it, I wiped it and wore the mask of my attitude. We walked in and I was amazed to see the office set up inside the room. He had really grown into a great man!!!!

“have a seat” his deep voice rang in my mind and I made myself comfortable and relaxed to face the upcoming twists. I closed my eyes for sometime to keep myself together and didn’t know why but he kept silence for sometime. He got seated on his seat and then for a moment or so looked at me with as if he was examining me and as I had got back myself, I was ready to face it.

“What are you looking at?” I broke the silence and put a start to a conversation.

“you are the one who saved my Brother right?” without any delay, he began his work.

“yes” I replied with full confidence.

“let me come to the point. You are the very first outsider I’m meeting since I came back and you can imagine the matter might not be a simple one in such case” he told me and I let nodded to him.

“am I in trouble?” I casually asked just to make sure of it.

“Do you think you did anything that made you fall in trouble?” he started at for my response and his eyes were glowing enigmatically as if he wanted to something else and was asking something else.

“As far as I know, I had talked to alpha Diana to let Tasha be my proxy in the games after which only I came to know that she’s your PA now” I replied solemnly.

“oh so you got to know that. Then tell me, what do you think I will do on that matter?” he had began to twist the matter to an unknown pace and I couldn’t anticipate what he was trying to do.

“i think you can’t do anything on that matter because the alpha of the pack is still alpha Diana” I had no idea how it came from my mouth and he was exceptionally astounded by my reply and then it turned into a wide smile. I kept on blinking in horror expecting an action but his reaction stupefied me.

“Thank you” he smilingly thanked me and by that time I had lost my mind.

“for what?” this time I calmly asked him with a curious tone so that he could be made to feel I wasn’t actually too savage to mess with people unnecessarily.

“for saving my brother and sister” his cold self had melted too quickly and I could see the outside of him.

I just gave him a grin like a Cheshire cat and the mood and vibe between us eased up a bit.

“To be honest, I was waiting for a reason so that I could get Tasha to play in the games and what you did was a great help” he stood up from his seat and walked towards a window and faced the green lawn outside the room.

As the sunlight hit his muscular body, it sparkled and his hair danced with the cool wind. I simply let my mind imagine a young boy who had nothing else in his blood than mischiefs and pranks but now, the boy had grown into a man who was ready to take up the position of the alpha of alphas. Nothing could have made me happier than getting back everyone in just a day but then also my mind still had a part of fear that didn’t let me appreciate the happenings whole heartedly.

He turned to me and saw me bemused in thought.

“please don’t act like a girl in love with me” Jayden told me and I broke form my imagination and looked at him. What did he mean by a girl in love by the way??

“ huh?? I was thinking bout something else” I had got to face much unexpected hits from the time I came to the place and now it was a piece of cake for me to make immediate excuses to save myself.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit apologetic for jumping to conclusion just like that and seeing his face turn red I chuckled.

He quickly turned around the topic and then again came back to the siblings topic.

“by the way, did you choose Tasha to take out your revenge on her or...?” he suddenly turned into a caring brother.

“why would I ever want to do that??” that question had struck me.

“then why did you choose her when you could have brought someone else from your own pack?” he sounded like he was expecting more from me and I began to think where the conversation was heading to.

“Because I was the only one in my pack trained well for the games from last 2 years. And if I couldn’t play, then obviously I would choose someone whom I feel would match me” I confidently gave him my reason and he was mesmerized by my attitude.

“Let me ask you one thing. Why did you mother without even thinking once let me have her?” I made my shot which left him mute. Was it because he knew the real reason or was it because he didn’t want an outsider to know it??

“Long story. Anyway I bet you will have something in mind to bring out the wolf in her” he humbly rejected my questions and hoped for a thing I didn’t know about.

“what do you mean?” I didn’t get what he meant by bringing out the wolf in her. I just wished not to get another surprise.

“Oh. So you choose her only because of her human skills?” he had began to nag me and I wanted to know what it was about.

“she hasn’t taken her wolf form from the day her family abandoned her” he answered me without delay and that was it, I let out a huge sigh of defeat knowing such a big truth. I slammed myself on to the chair condemning myself for not knowing such a big thing when I hadn’t failed to find out really big news about the pack. How could I ever miss it? I was doomed to know and just wanted to get a sleep to calm my mind and body so that I could use my brains well.

Seeing my numb state, Jayden passed me a bottle of water kept on the table and gazed at me. I think that he had began to wonder why the news had such a big impact on me.

“are you all right?” he concerned me and I nodded no to him. I wanted to bury myself in my bed for not being there for Tasha when she needed the most. Why and how could I have ever let it happen to her??

“I need to go” without spending another second with Jayden, I walked out of the room without a reaction and went straight to my quarter. The while way, my mind was full of memories of the night that had changed the fate of all of us.

I threw opened the door of the room and to my luck the other 2 were not there. I was filled with rage and guilt of what Tasha had done to herself and before I could stop myself, the boiling blood of mine had made me tear open my arm swing and I began to punch on the wall taking out all the anger stuffed inside me. None of what that had happened on the day was a part of what I had planned and it was so unexpected that it had made my mind decide to change the whole course of my action and I vowed to make everything right back as it was 20 years ago....
